2007-12-07 16:47:00 Fannie Mae (FNM), Freddie Mac (FRE)While many criticize the government's strategy for dealing with the mortgage crisis and call it a "bailout," Cram er commented, "I'm tired of hearing that this is a bailout. Who cares? I'm about the money." While he believes a recovery is imminent and "there isn't going to be a collapse" he would stay away from companies with subprime exposure because there is a lot of money bet against them. Rather than spending time pointing fingers, Cramer thinks it is time to acknowledge the responsibility for the current crisis is shared by the market, the government and the homeowners; "I don't care who did bad. I don't want Fannie Mae (FNM) insolvent!"Concerning Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, Cramer said, "They're totally insolvent! Give me a break. They're completely and utterly insolvent. Its just we're not allowed to say it. ... The only reason I mention those two ... is that those two are less likely to go after me." He identified fear of liability ... Cramer prefers Shaw to ABB and added, "Given its diminutive size, I would be shocked if it was independent a year from now. But anyhow we like this one for the long haul."Good as Gold: Yamana (AUY) Barrick (ABX)Cramer reiterated his two favorite gold picks, Barrick and Yamana, as insurance against inflation. 2007-12-06 14:13:00 Freeport-McMoRan (FCX)With rising global demand for raw materials, the mining sector will be on fire for the long-term, and Cramer's favorite pick is FCX. Demand for copper is increasing, supplies dwindle, and since FCX is a leader in copper mining, it should be the chief beneficiary. In addition, FCX has an "unbelievably great" buyback. While there is a lot of consolidation in the sector, Cramer says FCX is doing fine on its own.Hudson City Bancorp (HBCK), Wells Fargo (WFC)While Cramer feels confident there will be a rate cut and recommends owning a bank stock, he cautions investors to look for a more stable financial in case the Fed surprises him. 2007-12-05 21:03:00 Cramer regards news of Nokia's concern about falling cell phone prices as a "classic buying opportunity," since "people want to have what looks good. Whoever has the hottest phone gets good orders, and I can tell you that Nokia has the hot phones." He thinks of Nokia's cell phones as a fashion statement like Apple's iPod and Garmin's products. Since the news was released at the end of the day, analysts have not yet had time to react, and Cramer would wait until analysts comment before buying. Cramer thinks the sum of Motorola's parts is worth more than the whole, and commented he has seen Carl Icahn get involved in similar situations with positive results. "I'm with Icahn.
