Professional Sales Coaching - A Marketing System Isn't a Get Rich Quick Sol
2008-01-28 16:21:00 Out of desperation sales people in the services industries are often tempted to buy a done for you marketing system. It sounds so good just what you need to get things going. The problem is the system was developed by someone else for someone else, not you. It doesn't necessarily fit your business and you don't know how to implement it the way you're supposed to. Consequently you don't get anywhere near the results you expect to get. There aren't any get rich quick solutions. The only ones getting rich from get rich quick solutions are the people selling them. Instead of trying to take a short cut and ending up on a long diversionary path you'd be better off learning how to develop a marketing system that's specific to you and your business. You need to develop your own marketing system for generating your own proprietary leads. It doesn't do you any good to buy internet leads that are sold to 50 competitors too. When the leads are your own you're much more likely to earn som... Problems In the US Economy - Easily Overcome With a Slight Boost in Consume
2008-01-26 06:10:00 We can propel our economy out of recession and quite easily. It is unfortunate all the doom and gloom in the media about the greatest economy ever created in the history of mankind. The US economy will soon surpass 20 Trillion Dollars per year, most likely before 2010. Today we do have a few challenges, but that is just part of the natural and normal economic cycles. Now then, to the critics, I say;I will certainly not be one to deny what you have stated here about the Iraq re-stabilization efforts. I do concur, my dear sir, that it is much too costly, and it a very poor use of our national treasury, unless the oil there is used to pay back down our debt for our involvement. Indeed, that is a whole other issue of epic proportions and such a debate will rage on forever, but a trillion plus dollars on Iraq is nuts anyone who would debate other wise is fully of poppycock. And I say to the critics of the strength of the US economy that; no doubt that the cost of milk, meat, heating fuel,... The Formalities Necessary to Form a Limited Company
2007-12-23 16:48:00 There are certain dos and don'ts attached to the formation of a limited company. The Companies House in the UK looks after the matter of company formation. In order to form a limited company in the UK, one needs to provide the concerned authority (in this case it is the Companies House) with necessary information and documents. These are clearly dictated in the booklets published by the House, both in online and print versions. There are basically three types of limited companies in the UK: private company limited by shares, private company limited by guarantee and public limited company. The first one is similar to a private limited company. The second type of company does not have share capital; rather, it is guaranteed by its members. The members agree to pay a fixed amount in the event of the company's liquidation. One can form a limited company in any of these ways. In a public limited company, the shareholders would only be liable to pay the amount that remains unpaid on the... More About: Company , Form , Limited , Formal
Long queues in Gujarat as BJP, Congress claim victory
2007-12-16 15:42:00 Hundreds of thousands of men and women stood in long queues to vote in the final phase of Gujarat 's assembly elections Sunday as both the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress claimed victories. After a poor start to polling due to cold winds, voter turnout went up rapidly across Gujarat's northern and central areas as the day progressed in a do-or-die battle involving 599 candidates in 95 constituencies. In some places, however, voters gathered at polling centres even before they opened at 8 am. A total of 18.7 million people are eligible to vote on Sunday, and cities and towns in both regions witnessed maximum enthusiasm to pick a new assembly. A confident and combative Chief Minister Narendra Modi claimed that the BJP would sweep the elections to retain power in a state whose electoral outcome is widely expected to have an impact on national politics. BJP leader and prime ministerial candidate L.K Advani also made a similar assertion. After casting his vote in ... More About: Victory , Long , Queues
Scientists Cure Mice Of Sickle Cell Using Stem Cell Technique
2007-12-09 17:24:00 Using a recently developed technique for turning skin cells into stem cells, scientists have cured mice of sickle cell anemia -- the first direct proof that the easily obtained cells can reverse an inherited, potentially fatal disease. Researchers said the work, published in yesterday's online edition of the journal Science, points to a promising future for the novel cells. Known as iPS cells, they have been touted by President Bush and some scientists as a possible substitute for embryonic stem cells, which have been mired for years in political controversy. But researchers also cautioned that aspects of the new approach will have to be changed before it can be tried in human patients. Most important, the technique depends on the use of gene-altered viruses that have the potential to trigger tumor growth. "The big issue is how to replace these viruses," said Rudolf Jaenisch of the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research in Cambridge, Mass., who led the new work with co-work... The computer is overheating.Unknown to many, (especially those who are not into technological stuff) the computer could generate a large amount of heat when it is in use. Adding video or sound cards could also add more heat generation from your computer. The temperature inside the computer or laptop that has high-powered processors that runs with multiple applications reaches one hundred forty (140) degrees. The more drives, memory and even colored lights stuffed in today?s CPUs and laptops, the less space there is for internal air circulation. Apple iPod rumours
2007-08-04 15:07:00 Keeping the rumour wheels spinning like they've been lubed with go faster grease, Apple 's iPod is the subject of more and more speculation at the mo as to what we can expect to see in its next incarnation. While talk of a full touchscreen 'Pod remains robust, there are numerous other opinions out there. Word of a new shorter and fatter 'Pod is actually, according to specialist website 9to5Mac, the new Nano, reputedly a two-inch square design with the familiar scroll wheel, video playback and 4GB and 8GB flavours. We should also see a new choice of colours but a static price point. The big interest is in that range-topping touchscreen 'Pod, or 'phoneless iPhone', as it's being described. Some sites are even claiming a 7 August launch date, with shouts made that it's already shipping to the States. Apple has confirmed a new launch on said date, but only of a new line of Macs, but then again Mr Jobs is fond of surprises? More About: Ipod , Rumours , Apple ipod
Business Value Of Web 2.0 Tools Hard To Measure
2007-07-29 15:57:00 Business IT pros said Really Simple Syndication, or RSS, generated the highest value while blogging produced the lowest, the Forrester Research survey shows. While Web 2.0 technologies are beginning to take root in businesses, measuring the value of the cutting-edge tools remain elusive for most companies, a research firm said Friday. Nearly two out of three IT decision-makers surveyed by Forrester Research said their companies used traditional value metrics, such as return on investment and total cost of ownership, to evaluate success or failure of Web 2.0 deployments. Yet, rather than point to hard facts, such as support center calls offset by a self-service rich Internet application or Web site traffic from an RSS feed, respondents more often pointed to softer benefits, such as business efficiency and competitive advantage as the true value of Web 2.0 in their companies. As a result, Forrester believes that many businesses will shy away from adopting Web 2.0 tools, or wait to exp... More About: Business , Tools , Hard , Sine
Vaastu remedies through Fenghsui
2007-07-22 14:36:00 Some minor changes could still be made without carrying out major structural changes by implementing some basic Feng Shui cures. The general guidelines of Vaastu and Feng Shui are basic thumb rules that need to be looked into while designing a home according to these methods. However, these are basic tenets and not specific to the individuals who occupy the space. It is always better to design homes and offices specific to people occupying the space, but if you are already in a place of dwelling that has deviated from the prescribed Vaastu or Feng Shui norms, some minor changes could still be made without carrying out major structural changes by implementing some basic Feng Shui cures. In a city, the facing directions of the plot or house can't always be chosen, so irrespective of the facing directions, use some of the following tips to counter the ill effects of the positioning of the main doors: If your main door faces south, paint it deep maroon, shades of pale yellow or shad... Spielberg Endorses Clinton in Her Race for the Presidency
2007-07-08 17:02:00 Famous Hollywood film producer and director, Steven Spielberg , has decided to endorse US Senator Hilary Rodham Clinton for the democratic nomination for President in 2008.Barack Obama seems to have been a Hollywood favorite, which in turn created some tension in Hollywood, since the industry appears to have close ties to Hilary and of course former President Bill Clinton. In February, billionaire mogul David Geffen, and former Hilary ally, decided to extend his support out to Obama. Geffen helped sponsor a fundraiser worth $1 million dollars for Obama. Speilberg actually helped co-sponsor this event, which brought in $1.3 million dollars for Obama. In recent weeks, however, Spielberg has turned his favor towards Clinton as he, along with television mogul Haim Saban, hosted a beautiful reception for Senator Clinton at the home of News Corporation President Peter Chernin. Together, with another celebrity filled event, a total of around $1.1 million dollars was raised for Clinto... More About: Race , Presidency , Berg

The magazine is part of the Barclay Brothers-owned Telegraph group in the UK. Soon after the break, agencies reported that a spokesperson for Dow Jones said that the news is ?incorrect? and quoted unnamed sources that the discussions are still on about issues like pricing. Icebergs are 'ecological hotspot'
2007-06-22 08:45:00 Melting icebergs release minerals into the surrounding water Drifting icebergs are "ecological hotspots" that enable the surrounding waters to absorb an increased volume of carbon dioxide, a study suggests. US scientists found that minerals released from the melting ice triggered blooms of CO2-absorbing phytoplankton. These microscopic plants were then eaten by krill (shrimp-like organisms), whose waste material containing the carbon sank to the ocean floor. The findings are published in the online journal Science Express. The study, carried out in the Southern Ocean's Weddell Sea in December 2005, has helped researchers understand the impact of free-floating icebergs on the marine environment. Floating feeding stations The number of icebergs found in waters around Antarctica has increased in recent decades as a result of global warming, the researchers wrote in the paper. Sexy iGasm gets Apple worked up
2007-05-27 10:44:00 A British sex toy shop's ad campaign for a vibrating iPod peripheral has drawn ire of Apple Inc. The vibrating sex toy accessory for the iPod appears to have got Apple's legal team all hot and steamy.According to a British Tabloid reports, adult store Ann Summers, the seller of "iGasm," has been threatened by Apple with legal action over its advertising posters. Mind you, it is not the `i prefixed name that has bugged Apple, it's mainly the posters they do not like. Those seemingly demean the iconic music player and that has got Apple's goat. The sex toys shop chain recently began marketing the iGasm, which is an egg-shaped device that plugs into the Apple iPod and vibrates at different speeds depending on the volume of the music. The $60 device comes with "two silicone ticklers," as well as a splitter that allows the user to plug in earphones and listen to music at the same time. GM patent rejected after 13 years
2007-05-06 12:16:00 The European Patent Office (EPO) has revoked a patent owned by global agricultural giant Monsanto for the genetic modification (GM) of soybeans, saying the technique it approved 13 years ago lacked "novelty".The technique, which describes a way of creating any kind of GM soybean without reference to the specific genes being introduced, has helped make Monsanto the dominant force in GM soybeans ? the company owns nearly 90% of the global market. Opponents complained that the patent gave Monsanto de facto control over all GM soybeans, and have been fighting against it since it was granted in 1994.At a hearing on 3 May, the EPO revoked the patent. The board's decision is final, says Rainer Osterwalder, spokesman for the EPO, with no further appeals available. The decision will no doubt have an impact on other GM technology patents, Osterwalder told Nature. Nanotechnology
2007-04-22 14:27:00 Nanotechnology is a field of applied science and technology covering a broad range of topics. The main unifying theme is the control of matter on a scale smaller than 1 micrometer, normally between 1-100 nanometers, as well as the fabrication of devices on this same length scale. It is a highly multidisciplinary field, drawing from fields such as colloidal science, device physics, and supramolecular chemistry. Much speculation exists as to what new science and technology might result from these lines of research. Some view nanotechnology as a marketing term that describes pre-existing lines of research applied to the sub-micron size scale.Despite the apparent simplicity of this definition, nanotechnology actually encompasses diverse lines of inquiry. Nanotechnology cuts across many disciplines, including colloidal science, chemistry, applied physics, materials science, and even mechanical and electrical engineering. It could variously be seen as an extension of existing sciences int... More About: Nanotechnology , Nanotech
Pune rave party: Several test positive
2007-04-08 16:05:00 A month after the infamous rave party at Donje village, near Sinhagad Fort in Pune district, it has been found that as many as 248 youths who attended the party had consumed drugs. Of the 287 blood samples sent to the Pune regional Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), 248 tested positive, that is, they contained drug components, SP (Pune rural) Vishwas Nangre-Patil told TOI. "It means that a majority of the party-goers - 86% - had consumed drugs. These also include the blood samples of a few girls, which also tested positive," Nangre-Patil said. The FSL submitted the reports of 287 blood samples to the Pune rural police on Friday. The samples contained chemicals found in marijuana and hashish, it said. "It's a THC (Tetrahydrocannibinol) test, which proved the consumption of drugs by party-goers and organisers," he said. Web 2.0 for Designers
2007-03-28 07:02:00 In Web 1.0, a small number of writers created Web pages for a large number of readers. As a result, people could get information by going directly to the source: Adobe.com for graphic design issues, Microsoft.com for Windows issues, and CNN.com for news. Over time, however, more and more people started writing content in addition to reading it. This had an interesting effect?suddenly there was too much information to keep up with! We did not have enough time for everyone who wanted our attention and visiting all sites with relevant content simply wasn?t possible. As personal publishing caught on and went mainstream, it became apparent that the Web 1.0 paradigm had to change. The Web of documents has morphed into a Web of data. Disastrous Nishabd
2007-03-09 19:58:00 The disastrous opening of much hyped Ram Gopal Varma?s ? Nish abd?, starring Amitabh Bachchan and the sexy siren Jiah Khan, at the box office on Friday has made the whole film industry truly Nishabd (speechless). The exhibitors are in a state of shock as the collections on the first day was around seven percent at New Empire and going maximum to twenty eight percent at Cinemax, Sion. At most of other theaters the collection was well below twenty percent on the first day itself.Trade analysts are attributing this dismal performance at the box office to several factors associated with the film industry. As one analyst puts it, ?the pre- Holi period is always considered as thanda, in terms of collections. Secondly, this kind of love story does not appeal to Indian viewers. The audiences in India are very orthodox and can not accept it. Lastly, Ram Gopal Varma?s credibility has taken a backseat in recent times. Asteroid could hit Earth in 2036, UN urged to act fast
2007-03-03 06:20:00 SAN FRANCISCO: An asteroid may come uncomfortably close to Earth in 2036 and the United Nations should assume responsibility for a space mission to deflect it, a group of astronauts, engineers and scientists said. The 20-million-tonne asteroid could be heading the way towards Kamchatkans and Venezuelans. Californians have even more reason to worry the asteroid is more likely to hit the Pacific Ocean, triggering a tsunami that could devastate the west coast of North America. Calculations show it would strike somewhere along a narrow track that stretches eastward from Siberia to the west coast of Africa. Astronomers are monitoring the asteroid named Apophis, which has a 1 in 45,000 chance of striking Earth on April 13, 2036. Although the odds of an impact by this particular asteroid are low, a recent congressional mandate for Nasa to upgrade its tracking of near-Earth asteroids is expected to uncover hundreds, if not thousands of threatening space rocks in the near future, former astr... As rumored, Apple aired its first iPhone television ad at the glitzy awards ceremony. The commercial, aired multiple times throughout the awards ceremony, featured a number of movie and television clips with actors and actresses answering the telephone. "Hello?" Eventually, the commercial cuts to the iPhone itself and then says "Hello ... Coming in June." Earlier this week, Apple settled a dispute with Cisco over the use of the iPhone name. Under terms of the agreement, both companies have the right to use the name. Apple introduced the iPhone at Macworld Expo in January. While not yet released, the $499 smartphone has caused waves in the wireless market as analysts expect the demand for the touchscreen device to be high.
