Addressing my internal struggle with money
2007-08-13 19:12:00
Everyone seems to be talking about ESS (Emotional Shopping Syndrome) lately ... and I'm no different. This weekend I was SO bored. The BF forgot to inform me that he was spending all Saturday at the airport learning about helicopters, so I was left alone with no plans. I had to fight every urge in my body not to hop on my scooter and go shopping. I didn't even need anything, I just wanted to go shop and spend and just do something.I ended up fighting my urges, and stayed inside ... occupying my time with reading a really crappy book that I got a few months ago at a library book sale, and doing some work. But even then, I still managed to spend $30 on eBay. That website is probably going to be the death of me. Good thing I have PPP money stashed in my PayPal account to pay for the stuff I bought! That's the thing about having a budget - I feel bad when I don't follow by my own rules. You know how, when you go for a run or go to the gym, and you're trying to push yourself a little...

My parents are going to do some San Francisco Sightseeing!
2007-08-12 08:02:00
Note: the following post is sponsoredLadies and gentlemen, my parents have officially been bitten by the travel bug. I don't know what prompted this urgency to travel the world, but it probably has something to do with the fact that my dad is in a stable position now with his health, after suffering a stroke in 2005 ... and the fact that they are almost done paying off their mortgage.Next year, they are planning on doing an Alaskan cruise (I'm trying to convince them to make it a family vacation, so my sister and I can come, lol), and they're also planning on going to China next fall with all of my mom's sisters/brothers and their partners. In September of this year, they are going to San Francisco for a week, which I am insanely jealous about. I don't want to be a complete tourist about it, but I've always wanted to do San Francisco Sightseeing , and ride the cable cars, see Fisherman's Wharf, Chinatown, go to a Giants game ... and take in all the wonderfulness that city has t...

PPP, you're back in my good books ... for now.
2007-08-12 08:01:00
I almost decided to quit PPP last week. I hadn't written a single sponsored post in over 2 weeks, and figured it really wasn't worth my time. I had already made over $1,000 since the end of May, and it wasn't like I needed the money. But then, Google came around and boosted my PR of N/A to a respectable 2. It wasn't the 3 or 4 that I was hoping for, but it was a start. And it certainly gave me more PPP opps to write about too. Now, whenever I log in, I have more posts that are available to me than ever ... and in the past 3 days, I've made $76.81. Thankfully, I have another blog where I can post the majority of sponsored posts so I don't clutter up this one with posts no one cares about ... but there are some that are only available for this blog.So in conclusion, I'm going to keep at it and see if my good luck with PPP continues. But in the meantime, do you guys absolutely HATE the sponsored posts on my site? Or can you live with just ignoring them? If I'm going to potential...

The true story of the day my BF bought a $3,500 salmon
2007-08-10 18:29:00
Once upon a time, in a land mass in the Pacific Ocean, a beautiful girl's BF decided to save every penny he had in order to fulfill his goal of becoming an Aviation Prince. For years, he scrimped and saved until he had almost saved up enough gold coins to make his dreams come true.In the summer of 2007, this BF decided to splurge on himself and bought 3000 gold coins worth of fishing gear in order to provide a bounty of salmon for him to enjoy with his GF. With his new gear in hand, he promptly gassed up his horse-drawn truck and went camping/fishing in the wilderness until he had gotten his money's worth out of his new gear. The beautiful GF waited patiently for two nights before a dove flew to her window sill and delivered the message that her beloved BF would be home that evening. When she asked the dove how the BF was doing, the dove reluctantly informed her that the dejected BF was coming home with just one salmon, and that he had also spent more of his hard-earned coins on din...
