Convert PC Power Supply to Ham Radio power supply
2008-01-13 05:37:00 Recently I want to discard my old desktop computer away to dustbin, before I do that I dismantle out the ATX PC Power supply and do a little project on it. That is to convert it to a 12Volt DC power supply to power up my rig or other usage that need the particular voltage. This PC power supply come with 12V 9A and it should give enough for my purpose. All I need is only 1 Grey, 1 Green, 3 Yellow and 5 Black wire and the rest I tie up just like below. And I went to local electronic shop to purchase a On/Off toggle switch, 1 pc of LED (green color) to indicate is On and a 3oo ohm resistors.Drill two holes, one for the switch and the other hole for the LedGet the Green and one black wire solder to switch, and Grey and another one black wire solder to the led. The grey wire has to solder it to 300 ohm resistor before to the Led anode leg. The black wire will straight goes to Led cathode leg. Here is the finish power supply of 12VDC with 9A, with the 3 Yellow wire connect together serve as "... More About: Radio , Projects , Convert

NOAA - Solar Cycle may start!
2008-01-05 13:57:00 NOAA - National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has announce that next 11 year cycle solar will begin in March this year. Great for Amateur Radio but not happy for user depend more on satellite such as GPS, Hand phone, and etc.Sunspot is area of intense magnetic activities. When during the peak of solar, Solar flares and vast explosions from the sun, will shoot energetic photons and highly charged matter towards earth. Therefore disturbing our ionosphere and geomagnetic field. Military and Airline communications, satellites, GPS signals will be disturb by this activities. Those who stay close to North and South pole will see more of Auroras. This will illuminate the night skies with red and green color. As for Amateur Radio, get ready your antenna and transmitter. I'm looking forward a good DX.Read the whole article HERE73! Antenna and Propagation
2008-01-05 13:13:00 The most important in Amateur Radio is Antenna . As I have blog previously about Antenna is Factor!. You have high powerful transmitter, but without proper setup of Antenna, your communication will be fruitless.Further understand Propagation, will bring great joy in communication. Here is the explanations about Antenna and Propagation. This will teach you about Ground wave propagation, about our atmosphere that will help us in wave propagation, type of atmosphere our sky have, how our propagation travel thru ground and sky, and many many more to learn.Long article, but full with information.73!

My experience of Satellite communication
2007-11-20 13:30:00 I remember a year back, I'm was dreaming of accessing satellite and do satellite communication. The first satellite that I wanted to work with is AO-51. After all, that is the most recommended satellite for a beginner. JR1WZI with Malaysian callsign 9W2WZI, when he left Malaysia back to Japan, he left behind his 3 element Yagi VHF and 5 element UHF yagi antenna. And there goes my satellite hunting. For the first time I access it, I fail! That has not stopped me to hunt the bird again. I did some research on the Internet and the downlink signal from satellite is weak and I need signal booster to hear it. I go ahead searching pre-amp for 430Mhz in the Internet and my friend in Japan JR1WZI help me auction off from the internet and bring back from Japan by another friend 9M2IDJ. Once I had it installed, at that particular day I anxiously waiting for the bird to fly pass Malaysia. And the time comes and the very moment once I press my ptt and say “CQ CQ satellite this is 9W2CBL calli... More About: Communication , Satellite , Experience , Erie
