I only found myself sinking deeper and getting mentally exhausted. There were good moves in a lot of stocks but I only saw it after the fact. I traded the wrong stocks today.

10800 shares+368Between 9:30-10:30, my trading was sloppy and I lost a little over $100. At 10:30 I saw MOS, and MON breakout out. I was short and covered with a small loss. They moved pretty fast and I just watched them go. I went in AGU and CF, which were lagging and they followed soon after. After that trade, I did not catch anything good the rest of the day.

14600 shares+137The agricultural stocks had nice moves today, but I was playing the wrong side most of the day. I started off with a 200 share short in MOS near the open at 70.40 and it dropped fast to 69.57. It also bounced off fast and my profits turned into a loss because I hesitated in cutting the trade. I lost 55 cents on the trade. I recovered by taking some small scalps here and there throughout the day. I could have made more if I did not pick tops in those AG stocks during the day. I got squeezed many times today. It was good that I only went in with 100 shares.

13170 shares+55I think there were some really good opportunities today. I just did not have the courage to go short this gap open. I had some quote issues in the morning and I was busy fixing my layout. My mind was not focused on trading and I lost over $150. I came back by catching a short in MON. At around 10:45 I shorted at 98.50 and covered at 97.03. It was a good trade but I only had 100 shares. I was then up $150 after some more scalps but gave it away in JCG.

I wanted to catch something so bad when the market was ripping up I took some impulsive trades. At 10am The market reversed and I had some small shorts which helped me recover most of my losses but then I chopped myself up again trying to get long after the reversal.

Improve your trading by watching trading videos

A month or two ago I scoured Youtube for trading videos. I found a couple of good ones that are updated daily. All the creators are traders who have their methodology down and explain their analysis in an easy comprehensible manner. I have learned some new stuff from watching the videos. One thing good about watching the videos is that you can really get into the minds of the traders and see how they interpret chart action.Matt Monteith from Price-Trend.com offers daily commentary on the Emini S&P, Gold, Euro, Crude and Bonds. His trading style consist of trendlines, chart patterns and pivot points. I think it simple yet effective. One thing he stresses daily is not to try to pick tops or bottoms, wait for the market to confirm the move. While going over charts I found BIDZ trading near highs. The stock already doubled from $10 in Sept. to its current price of 19.94. I went to check out the company info and found out that it is an online auction site of jewelry, watches and art. They have an interesting auction format that shows live changing prices. It almost look like a trading screen and I was drawn to the flickering prices for a few minutes. It will be interesting to follow the stock's development.www.biz.com

23800 shares+15My trading was going smooth in the morning and I was putting on some good scalps. I was up over $200 and then I had a series of mistakes. I made most of my money in the morning from the short side. When the market reversed I was looking for longs on pull backs but I entered too early and lost over $200 on two trades when the stocks continued lower. Then frustration kicked in when I lost all my gains and I kept losing some more. I would be down $100, then I come back and then lose over $100 again. I finally made it back to green in the end so I am going to stop now.The market is still weak and so many stocks just get smacked down fast after slowly churning up for what seem like an hour. I thought there would be a reversal day setting up the Thanksgiving rally but it does not look good here.

24600 shares+390There was pretty good volatility today even though it is a shorted week. I did not expect much action this week, so today I was caught off guard. I was also very hesitant so I missed out some nice shorts at around 10am when many stocks broke down. I had two small shorts, one in EJ and one in YGE, but I took profits early. After those trades I was up around $250. I churned for a bit before I caught some shorts in MON. I was up over $500 at my high but I was greedy. After some chop I was left with what I have now.

30200 shares-350I had a short bias today in the morning. I kept thinking the market would reverse and go down for another dip so I did not look for any long setups. By the time I changed my mind it was tough to go long since everything I watch was up big. I did try to get into some of the fertilizer stocks in the afternoon but I took profits early, chased, and was shaken out by dips. Overall there was just a lot of chop for me since I lacked conviction on my trades.

First it was the shippers, then the techs, then solars, now they are taking down the fertilizers. My biggest winner was CF for $691. I am still trading small so I only took 300 shares short and made money on the 2nd leg down. I stepped away the last 2 hours and I see CF made a 3rd leg down.

12800 shares+255I had a nice win in MON in the morning for $212. I was leaning toward the short side but saw other fertilizers reversing up so I went long 300 shares at around 95.96. Stock had a quick pop and I pieced out 100 at 96.50 and 200 at 96.75. There were some good setups and I was actually in the money for over $300 bucks but I got greedy and ended making a lot less. Then I lost some more during the midday chop. I played around with 100 shares in the late afternoon but did not get any traction.

23200 shares+105My trading was bad in the morning. I was taking it slow and took a couple of small hits. Then I went on tilt for some reason. After three trades I was down over $500. It was bad because I took a 500 share market order in MDR and got filled near the top of the range. Then I sold for a loss and went short at the bottom of the range on 500 shares. I covered at the top of the range again. It is good that I came back, but today is definitely a good trading day. The dinosaur loves days like this and he should have raked it in.

18200 shares-520Like most bad days, I was trigger happy and took a 65 loss on my first trade. It's a small loss so it wasn't a big deal. But before any noticeable setups occur I jump into MGA and took another 26 loss. I thought I'd watch DLB because it was setting up for a daily breakout. That stock took most of my time and it didn't go anywhere. I took a trade in BRS and that hit me hard for 238. I had 200 shares and lost over $1 in the stock. Then when DLB broke 42 I jumped in and it turned out to be a trap as it quickly reverses. That cost me another 60 bucks. I couldn't recover after that, and tacked on some more losses.What I learned todayI got to take the best setups in the morning and stay on the winning side. I think the first few trades are the most important trades for the day. They can either help me or break me. And the latter happened today. 16600 shares +184By noon I was down around $250. My trigger happy fingers led me down the wrong path again. I was about to shut down for the day because it was saddening to see my lack of discipline. I took two more shots and pulled off another recovery. At around 12:30 I bought 200 LVS at 112.27. Sold 100 at 113 and 100 at 113.20 when it had a quick pop. I also took 200 MR at 39.50 and was out at 39.89. Those trades helped me recover most of my losses. Around 3:00 I took a long in GYI and that trade gave me what I made today.

11600 shares+208I started the day down over $200 again after a few trades. I felt pissed because I always tell myself to look for the best setups. I chased SPW going long and lost 30 cents on 100 shares. When it broke the fig. at 103, rallied to 103.50 with light volume and came back down I went short. I was late again and got filled at 102.75. I was stubborn and held on though I had the chance to get out by losing a few pennies. The stock squeezed me for $160 when I got out at 103.50.After that I went through some struggles and traded with fear. I found AAP and got my money back and was up an extra $40. Like all my winning trades the stock had the following characteristics. A gap open and a consolidation in the 15 minute chart. Stock is also close to the 5MA.
