A gathering of lizards..

the day started with lunch at sizzler. lounge lizards who attended include dirk bonapare - the bouncer, mike jagger, the watcher, thor. db cooper came by for a few minutes at the end for a short chat. after lunch, we all parted and went our separate ways. I went to do some window shopping, and then, eventually went home to work on my blog. around 9pm, I made the journey to the loooobby.the surprise of the night was seeing popeye come by with her new beau - spiderman. word was - it's spiderman's birthday. they invited me to celebrate the occasion with them. but I declined since I felt a little awkward with the situation.saw macG. he's back again.I left the lobby to go home at around 2am. in preparation for the upcoming trip to the philippines, I paid my rent and monthly expenses up to april. did another walkthrough of my luggage.received a phone call from steven c.khao. it seems he has decided to move out of his digs in the philippines. so, instead of having a place to s...

man, I spent the whole day working on my blog. I found these 2 websites that have absolutely got to have the biggest lists of ideas for improving a blog that I have ever found. at this very moment, I am listening to the victory speeches of obama and huckabee. it truly amazes me to see how far a person can reach in a lifetime. listening to these 2 gives me hope that america will do well in the future. although my personal vote will go to ron paul, I think that whomever get elected, america will be ok.back at the ranch..it was another night in the lobby. got to the lobby a litle late last night. lo and behold, as soon as I walked in, I saw the man of the hour - howling howie - relaxing in the soft seats. to his left sat the barber, and to my right, the analog man. the topic for tonight - our upcoming trip to the philippines. with excitement, we discussed what would transpire on the trip. aaahhhh. just read that the king of thailand's older sister passed away. according to the bangkokpost, the country will be in mourning now for at least 15 days.over in the lobby, I was told that bruce - the unknown cager - fell down and broke his shoulder, or was it his arm?yes, it is one strange day. things usually happen in 3s. so, I wonder what will happen next?received a call from db cooper earlier. it appears he will be returning to the states soon. harrison ford tells me via an email that he will back in thailand in march. john wayne also via email tells me he will be buying a condo in manila.as for yours truly... well, we made it everybody. another year has passed. I didn't lose that 20 lbs that I had wanted to lose as my new year's resolution for 2007. but I did lose 6 lbs. so, it wasn't a total loss.looking back. a lot to be grateful for. met and made a lot of new friends. and had the fortune to share some really good times with many lounge lizards.I am looking forward to the new year. already have planned trips to the philippines and mainland china.here in thailand, the thais have just completed new elections for a new prime minister with no unusual circumstances occurring. definitely a big positive.the king of thailand has just fully recovered from some illness. what more need I say?the new year is looking to be a good one.last night, I milked the new years celebrations to the max. stayed up until about 8am. boy. did I go home tired. would you believe it if I told you I woke up at 7pm? it is now about 9pm. every now and then, I just get into a mood where I don't want to do anything. and for the past couple of days, that's exactly what I did - nothing. absolutely nothing.at this very moment, I am dressed in just my underwear watching tv and writing this post. I haven't shaven in 2 days nor have I taken a shower. my back doesn't hurt, and my mind is clear of any thoughts.could this be bliss?pinchme ann just called me. she is wondering what I am doing. and my reply was "nothing". she is wondering why I am not doing anything. in the back of my mind, I wondering why is it that - anyone has to be doing anything? all I know is that my body doesn't hurt, and my mind doesn't hurt. my buddy, fist of fury, just left bangkok. it was fun while he was here. last night, we went to the suan lum night bazaar, and pretty much hung out there all night. for dinner, we went to the scala shark fin soup restaurant across from the siam discovery center. the place was ok. but very expensive.we left the night bazaar at around midnight. fist went back to his hotel with his family. and I went over to the lobby to hang out some. not much happening.oh. did see the tattoo man. he just returned to bangkok. haven't seen him in a couple of months.at the very end of the night, I bumped into db cooper. we spoke for a few minutes. and then parted.the days are going quick now. another few days, and it will be 2008. timberwolf told me about this all-you-can-eat buffet that will cost only 1 baht. so, I am looking forward to that event. a buffet for 1 baht???in a little over 2 weeks, I'll be going to the PI. that will be fun.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suan_Lum _Night_Bazaar

another great night. finally met up with fist of fury. we went to dinner at this place over at this chinese restaurant at the times square building which is located near sukhumvit soi 12. the chinese restaurant is named "jasmine" and can be reached straight from the asoke bts stop. fist ordered everything. talk about being extravagant. we had suckling pig, peking duck, a fish, and a number of other dishes. fist ordered so many plates of food, you couldn't put them all on the table at the same time.yes, I had fun. (FOOD! ..the second most important thing in life.)fist was in a really happy mood last night. so happy that he paid for the whole meal. imagine that. for those of you not familiar with current events.. db cooper asked me about the bowler. I guess he was worried as to why nobody has heard from the guy for like a year. his questioning got me to worry too. so, we both sent emails to him to see if he would respond. after a few days, no response. the thought surfaced - is the bowler alive or dead??in order to put the thought to rest, db cooper and I went out to his "home" in bangkok to see if his wife is still there with his kid. it's been about a year since I last visited the place. so, you can imagine how I felt as I got closer to the bowler's home here in bangkok.it is with great relief that I make this report... the bowler is alive and well. but due to issues of privacy, I can't disclose all the details of what transpired.changing the subject...went to the lobby last night, had an above average night hanging out. one of the big topics in the lobby had to do with the fact that dutch callahan has to leave the land of smi...

last night, I went to eat dinner with da brain. he is leaving to go back to the states tomorrow. I always miss da brain when he leaves. but alas, he will be back soon enough. we will probably see each other again in march thereabouts.have a safe trip home, bro. see you in a few months.after the dinner, I thought about going over to hang out at the lobby. but my body was just not up to it yet. I'm looking forward to christmas now. my buddy, fist of fury, is coming over with his family. I might be joining them for one of the my holiday dinners. you can't imagine how it has been for me these past few days. in my mind, I had this urge to go to the lobby. but my body wouldn't comply. ..shoosh!!!last night, I ventured out. met up with db cooper, and da brain for dinner. db cooper brought along 3 new guys. enter - the movie star, jack hammer, and the professor. after dinner, we all went over to the big T. a slow night. we were thinking it was probably because of the upcoming election tomorrow. regional thai politicians are being voted into office. during the time in the big T, big jim came by. so, we briefly traded stories.we all hung out at the big T for maybe an hour, and then, parted. although I wasn't 100%, more like 50/50, I decided to go to the lobby to see what was going on over there. this being the first time in 3 days. yesterday, before partaking in an ill-fated all-you-can-eat buffet with da brain, we hung out at this coffee shop called "coffee world". I love coffee shops, and if I have the time, I like to hang out at them. the perfect place to oogle people without getting slapped senseless by unknown strangers.as soon as I sat down to relax myself to a hot cup of mocha, I noticed this university student (a girl) to my left waiting patiently for somebody. you could see she was waiting for somebody because she kept looking at her watch. plus she also kept fidgeting all around not able to sit still.my gut feeling... she was pissed!the four stages of the waiting game.1) bliss - 15 minutes2) concern - 30 minutes3) denial - 45 minutes4) pissed! - 1 hour+so, how does the waiting game work, you ask?well, the first 15 minutes of waiting for somebody is considered the honeymoon stage. acceptable to everybody. the next 15 minutes, if nobody calls you, you feel concern that maybe something has happen...

and it was! I thought after not having gone to the bathroom at thai immigration all day, I was cured of the runs. well, earlier today, right after I went to this all-you-can-eat buffet with da brain, I did a repeat. shoosh! it came out. like a flash flood screaming down a gorge. shoosh! with a parched throat, I'm thinking to myself, maybe I should take some amodium, or perhaps an anti-biotic? cipro? amox? my mind is thinking again... the more I use the anti-biotics, the more I won't have them for use when I really get sick. be tough, be a soldier. weather the frequent trips to the toilet. you can do it. you can do it. shoosh!so, what did I do today, you ask?except for the trip to the buffet with da brain - zip, nada, nothing.it was the toilet, and tv - ALL DAY.received a phone call from db cooper, and popeye. an email from sarge. and a couple of facebook messages from my facebook family.one thing good about this - my latest rendezvous with the runs. ..maybe I hav...

would you believe it if I told you I spent all day at thai immigration in bangkok to renew my retirement visa? there were so many people at thai immigration today - let's just say it wasn't fun being there. if it wasn't for the air conditioning in the corner of the room where I was seated waiting, I would have probably collapsed from the wait.yesterday, I had a massive case of the runs. and here I was not completely recuperated waiting patiently to renew my retirement visa. somehow, my body was able to weather the trying experience. thank god!the numbers...it took me about 5 hours to renew my retirement visa. another 2 hours to process my 90 days reporting in statement. and yet another hour to process my multiple entry permit. ..for a total of about 8 hours processing everything. in fact, I just barely finished everything before closing. only 15 minutes to spare.some tips....if you are going to process a retirement visa like I did, the best seating to wait your turn at ...

I didn't go to the lobby last night because I developed a major case of the runs. that's slang for diarrhea. I'm still not sure how I got it. but I just did my 5th run to the border. ugh!not much else to report for now. going back to sleep.
