that's the name of a particular hair style that is currently very popular in hollywood. and get this, da brain is bringing it to bangkok, thailand.for more info about it, check out his Sophisticuts website...Sophisticuts in Bangkok changing the subject....so, what did THIS lounge lizard do today? woke up at 1pm. met up with da brain at mbk for a cup of java at around 3:30pm. parted at 5pm. went to carrefour to do some grocery shopping. finished up at 6:30pm. went to the lobby at 9pm. ate at mcdonalds at 10pm. hung out until 2am. went home at 3am.the plan for tomorrow includes going to union mall to check out the narai pizza there, buying chinese sausage at big C located out near mo chit, physically locate makro out in ladprao, register account with them. if I have energy left over, go to the lobby.my day in a nutshell. time to go to sleep.

for some reason, I kept thinking today was sunday. so, just to remind myself, the title for this post is monday - february 22.anyway, so what did I do today, you ask?woke up at 11:30am. met up with da brain at 4:30pm for a workout at the gym. even though I only did an hour workout, it was the hardest one so far since I started working out again. if I recall correctly, this was my 4th workout since starting up again. the 4th within 2 weeks.after the workout, da brain and I went over to the silom sizzler for dinner. finished dinner at about 6pm. I got my routine fish with baked potato. which includes the all-you-can-eat salad bar. refill coke. 208 baht. it was just what the doctor ordered.during dinner, da brain and I talked about golf driving ranges. it seems to be my routine now. hang out at home until night time. then, go to the lobby.I woke up at 1pm. spoke to da brain. decided to meet up for dinner at 6pm. we ate at the soi 7 food court. had a cup of java at the beer garden. afterwards, da brain went to get a 2 hour massage. and I went to the lobby to see what was going on there. the time was about 7:30pm.over at the lobby, I bumped into the engineer, the inventor, the swan, timberwolf, the family guy. we started talking politics. and the next thing you know, everybody started to leave. ..I wonder why??? hehehe.to deuce.. yes, I know social security didn't exist in 1890. but I wanted to see who else knew. you are one smart cookie, duece...one thing that I haven't checked yet about obama. is it true that he hasn't disclosed his school records at occidental and harvard? and that he swore on oath that he never used another name other than barack obama?http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barack _Obamahttp://bioguide.congress.gov/scri.. .

pigging out AGAIN.

didn't go out to the lobby tonight. was too tired after pigging out with da brain. we went to this place called the "hot pot prestige". part of the hot pot chain of restaurants in thailand. da brain likes the place a lot because of their big selection of vegetables....anyway, the day started at about noon time. this is when I woke up. at around 1pm, da brain called me up to see if I would be interested in joining him for a workout at the gym. why not, I replied?we met up at about 3:30pm. did a short 1 hour workout. I got in 15 minutes of the life cycle, 4 sets of crunches, 4 sets of arm curls, 4 sets of stomach twists, some odds and ends.while shooting the breeze with da brain during the workout, I mentioned wanting to go to the makro store. and da brain replied, "why not go now?" we got to the makro store at around 6pm.of all the stores in bangkok, makro is probably the most like costco in the states. and he says howling howie and chicago joe wish to say hi to all the other lounge lizards.I pretty much spent the whole day indoors and ventured out to the parking lot at around 10pm.the first person I saw as I entered the parking lot was big skippy. we spoke for maybe 15 minutes before he disappeared to somewhere. the next lounge lizard that I saw was snow white followed by the engineer. we didn't talk much while we were in the parking lot. we were really focused on oogling.after maybe 20 minutes of intense oogling, we went into the lobby.seated in the softseats were timberwolf, and bronson. roger 8 bellies arrived about 10 minutes later. and the swan yet another 10 minutes after that. we talk.the latest gossip is centered on the grand opening of the new disco. it appears march 1st is maybe the much anticipated day. spread the word. hey. stayed home for the whole day yesterday. not sick or anything. just didn't have any urgent need to go out.da brain went up to the farm yesterday. the surfer dude went home. except for the regulars, I don't know of any other lounge lizards in town right now. ..oh. I take that back. brian piccolo and patrick o'brien are here. but they are pretty much loners.the priest is coming back on march 1. duece bigalow is up in the air. heard over the grapevine that the bay area boyz are coming back next month.that's the latest gossip.no plans for today. something strange happened last night...

there I was ready to go to sleep. I had just finished up my previous blog post. the thought popped into my head... I haven't checked out the third season of "heroes" yet that I had on dvd. maybe I'll watch one episode before I hit the sack I said to myself. ..why not?that was at about 11pm at night last night. ..guess what happened?like a good video game, I couldn't put it down. the next thing I know, I go through the WHOLE third season of "heroes". yeah. you heard me right. last night, I watched EVERY episode of the third season of "heroes". one episode after the other nonstop. hehehe. I didn't go to sleep until 8am this morning. ..about 7 hours ago.WHEW!all together I had about 6 hours of sleep today. decided to make it a rest day, and not go to the lobby tonight. kicking back..earlier today, I made it to the 2pm all-you-can-eat pizza buffet with jack dawson. didn't want to pig out. so, all I ate was 2 small slices of the hawaiian pizza - pineapple and ham, a bowl of cream of corn, a plate of spagetti, 2 pieces of garlic bread, and 4 glasses of root beer. the pizza parlor was packed. with a lot of big eaters.jack and I finished up at around 3:30pm. he went home, and I went directly to the gym down the street. did a 2 hour workout. the idea was to prepare myself for the second buffet. hehehe.like clockwork, I bumped into da brain as he was walking towards the oishi express. the time was exactly 6pm. talk about being in sync.when we walked into the oishi express restaurant, we were surprised to see so many people there. the place was PACKED! it sort of reminded me of pictures of the japanese subway system during the commute hours. hard to believe it. BUT I had like 8 straight hours of sleep. let me repeat... that was 8 STRAIGHT hours of sleep. something of a oddity with me nowadays. feeling ok. got this call from da brain. oishi express at 6pm?of course, I grabbed at the invitation. hehehe. too bad it wasn't yesterday.anyway, so, in about an hour, jack dawson said he was going to be at the all-you-can-eat pizza buffet at 2pm. ..I think I will still go. but rather than stuff myself, I'll just hangout and eat a couple of slices. want to save myself for the higher quality oishi express place at 6pm. ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT sashimi.. a lb.of salmon.. cream of salmon soup.. FOR 400 BAHT!to the peanut gallery in the back... yeah. I hear you. 2 buffets in ONE day? are you sure? ..guys, I'm just going to basically hang out at the pizza buffet. ..OK?EVEN I couldn't do 2 buffets in one day. that would be suicide.got to run now. overall, a good night for me. it's about 4am right now. just got back from the lobby. I was there for about 6 hours. yes, I think the flu is almost completely out of my system now. (thank god!)yesterday started out with my waking up at about 11am. still somewhat lethargic from being sick for 3 days. I slowly got up. got a call from da shadow. he wants to go eat somewhere again since we didn't make it to oishi express the day before.I said ok. we agree to meet up at 7:30pm over at the shabusushi over at the esplanade mall. and my reply to that is - according to some sources I've read, the average person gets sick 25 days each year. and that number varies depending on your age and other factors.so, do I get sick TOO much? frankly, I think I'm about average.this last bout of the flu lasted about 3 days. if you divide 3 into 25, I could do this 8 times a year, and that would STILL be considered normal.my definition of being sick IS - when you are flat on your back, and can't do anything but stare at the ceiling and twiddle your thumbs. folks, I've got 10am showing on my clock. just woke up. and except for a little cough now and then, I feel healthy again. no aches and pains. I'M BACK!will I be at the lobby tonight, you ask? hell yes. even if nobody is there, I'll be ok with that. oogling pretty girls even if there are only a few of them walking around is far better than lying in bed twisting and turning all day. what started out as a slight fever, and a little sore throat turned into a raging bull. for the last 2 days, all I did was twist and turn in bed. being sick really does suck!I've got about 3am now showing on my clock. I think the fever has broken. but I sure do feel weak.da shadow told me that the free food place had chicken wings, chow fun, watermelon, etc earlier tonight. just reading his text to me got me drooling. earlier in the week, we had scheduled to go to oishi express on saturday. (that's today.) but frankly, I don't know if I will be well enough to take that on. the time was about 1pm. there I was laying in bed staring at the ceiling wondering to myself - WHAT the fuCK!?!after all the effort of washing my hands, keeping people at an arms length, and not shaking hands, I STILL come down with a slight fever and a sore throat????like a good boy scout, I ran over to my little medicine cabinet, and popped a couple of aspirin to relieve the muscle aches and pains. in the back of mind, I thought to myself... definitely no workout or lobby tonight.I sent a text message out to some of my close lounge lizard buddies to let them know of my status. after that, I sort of kept myself busy watching tv, and playing computer games.it is now about 11pm at night. and I am still somewhat under the weather. going to sleep in a minute. hope I wake up tomorrow healthy again. meeting up with da brain and beautiful for dinner at that all-you-can-eat oishi express buffet out in rachada.got a phone invitation from da brain at 3pm to meet for dinner at 6pm. as it so happens, I was just waking up, and talk about hungry.. I was starving. good timing on the part of da brain.the thought crossed my mind to call da shadow to join us. but as the invitation was unexpected, I didn't think da shadow could make it with such short notice.anyway, when the 3 of us got to oishi express, we ate like there was no tomorrow. in less than 30 minutes, I shoveled down my mouth... a lb of salmon, another lb of other sashimi, a bowl of cream of salmon that was excellent, some king crab, a plate of duck feet, some dim sum, some shrimp tempura, a bowl of curry pork, some clam strips, one slice of chocolate cake, a small strawberry shortcake, 3 glasses of fruit punch, and at the end of the meal - a cup of hot coffee. last minute appearances.

another long but happy day. started out with my waking up at 1pm. did a load of laundry. met up with da brain at 4pm for a workout at the gym. left the gym at about 6pm. met up with beautiful. and then we all went to eat dinner at da brain's favorite restaurant - fishhead.we left fishhead at around 7:30pm. made our way to the lobby. arrived at 8pm. hung out there until maybe 8:30pm. da brain went home at around 9pm.after da brain left, singapore jimmy, jack dawson and buddha came by for a little while. and then they disappeared.at 10pm, lounge lizards started to come out of the woodwork. a couple of guys whom I haven't seen in at least 2 years dropped by. the sheriff who hails from the PI came by. followed by eagle who comes from australia. we spent a couple of hours trading stories back and forth. other lounge lizards who popped out of the woodwork include.. timberwolf, the earl of nep, da shadow, dirk bonapare, jacques cousteau, the analog man, bronson, buzzsaw, ...

have you ever experienced repeated phone calls from one person that borders on harassment? to the person calling me at 4am in the morning. and making multiple phone calls for 15 minutes straight when they don't get an answer. STOP with the bullshit. that was the main dish at this FREE buffet that I went to tonight with da shadow and jack dawson. ham and mushroom penne with PLENTY of toasted garlic butter bread. watermelon and pineapple was dessert. I had 3 servings of this. after the meal, I was strolling down the street like an elephant. back and forth. back and forth.yes. yesterday, I woke up at 10am. I knew da brain was arriving around noon. so, I went to mbk at 11:30am to hang out in the hopes of meeting up with him there. ..stupid me, I forget that his barber NOW has her own salon. so, da brain would not be following his usual routine of going to mbk on arrival into bangkok. duh.so there I was at mbk all by my lonesome. what to do? ..I decided to do some window shopping. then, I had lunch at the food court. had my usual "khao mun gai" dish. 15 years and counting. after my "lunch", I walked over to the siam paragon mall, did a 2 hour workout at the gym. finished up at 4pm. from the gym, I went over to the IMAX movie theatre. thought to myself... didn't see that avatar movie in IMAX yet. movie starts at 5:40pm. 3 hour movie, so, I decided to go to sizzler at siam center first before watching the movie. did that.people, avatar on the 50 foot IMAX screen is incredible. I truly recommend the experience. having saw the movie already in...

did I just sleep 15 hours??? whew!about 15 minutes ago, I got this call from dirk bonapare. woke me up. talk about being in yoyoland. dirk wants to go eat somewhere. my mind is still somewhat dizzy from waking up. so, I didn't promise anything. looking at my text messages, I see jack dawson sent me an invitation for sizzler at 8pm. not sure what I want to do.yeah. I'm that disoriented right now.sort of feeling up my body. I feel pretty good. my hair itches a little. I think I will take a long, hot shower now. and then, decide what the plan is.da brain is on the plane now. he should be back in the big mango at around 11am tomorrow morning. did another buffet. this time, dirk bonapare, da shadow, and I met up at 6pm for dinner at this moo ka-tat out in rachada. the weather was great. not too hot. we ate until about 8:30pm. boy! my stomach was so full, I couldn't breath when we left the place.afterwards, we all went our separate ways. I went home to take a shower. rested for maybe 30 minutes. went to the lobby at 10pm. only a few lounge lizards out and about. saw long john silver. last time was maybe a year ago. dirk bonapare came by later. followed by "dan the man". dirk and "dan the man" got into this discussion that lasted maybe an hour.at 12:30am, we all went out into the parking lot. had a great time yesterday. did a little bit of everything. the day started out with my getting this text from jack dawson. "still on for the buffet at 8pm?" "sure, why not" was my response. it was about 3pm when jack text me.right away, I'm thinking that maybe da shadow would be interested in going too.at 8pm, we all meet for the buffet. roll call - jack dawson, buddha, miss pretty, da shadow, and me - bangkokbuddy. we finish up at 9:30pm thereabouts.from the buffet, I go to the lobby. several lounge lizards hanging out. diamond jack just got back from the states. others there include timberwolf, dutch callahan, bronson. dirk bonapare came by a little later. followed by da shadow. we engage in a bunch of bullshit discussions.bush is an as#hole, obama is an as#hole, pelosi is an as#hole. hell, all the politicians are as#holes....after letting off some steam, we all feel good. some of us decide to adjourn the board meeting, and go outside into the parking lot to do so...
