Thoughts on Affiliate Confession's Entrecard Results
2008-03-11 00:10:00
I wrote a post several days ago giving Thumbs Up to Entrecard dot com, explaining my joy for using Entrecard. While the service is a great networking tool, and it's free, I am finding that my traffic from Entrecard seems to be clickers passing by for a drop. I recently read a post by Alan from Affiliate Confession, titled; Massive Entrecard Advertising Experiment Results . Alan completed a 14 day experiment and posted his data. You should definately go to see his results, and comments in full. Alan spent 8,000 credits and purchased 180 ads over the span of 13 days. The results of his campaign are worth the read. I will post my meager stats in here as well. Mind you that my blog is only 12 days old.I did not complete a large scale test such as Alan, but found his post compelling since I feel that my clicks gained were more in part from "power clickers" just dropping cards, and not authentic interest clicks. Now, I must admit that when a card is dropped on me, I will drop back, but if...

The Happiness Project
2008-03-09 20:02:00
I came across Alex Shalman's blog recently via John Chow dot Com and I was intrigued from his post on "The Happiness Project ". This is really a mini self evaluation, and I think it's a great idea. Hats off to Alex for putting this together. If you would like to take part in the journey and see the guidelines, pleave visit Alex Shalman via Happiness: The Group Writing Project. Here are my thoughts. How do you define happiness? This is such a subjective question for everyone reading. Happiness is the feeling you have when you realize that life isn?t just about work, school, responsibilities, and so on. When you can sit back and say ?I feel like doing this-or-that today, because it makes me happy. Let?s face it the majority of us have to work, and make money to live, but I believe happiness is when you can recognize the difference. Recognizing the difference isn?t just about being content with it either, it?s your true self worth in respect to your daily life. I usually associate...
Jackpot Rewards dot Com
2008-03-08 22:51:00
I was at lunch the other day with a colleague and he was explaining to me about a new company called Jackpot Rewards . This company is a sweepstakes & shopping website, that is located in Newton, MA. The Jackpot Payouts are said to have the highest chance of anyone to win 1$ Million dollars. This is how it works. You sign up with Jackpot Rewards to receive benefits for their rewards program. Thumbs Up to Entrecard dot com
2008-03-08 22:06:00
I would like to give two thumbs up to Entrecard.com. Being relatively new to blogging, I was unsure of a good traffic source for my blog. I came across Entrecard from another blog somewhere (not sure which one). I signed up for Entrecard services and have seen great response through this virtual blog card trader. Entrecard is a completely free service, and it's really up to you to get noticed. You get credits for every card you drop on someone, and vice verse when they drop on you. You also get credits for hosting someones card (my blog of the day) which in turn gets you noticed more. The best part is the blogger gets to purchase which blog he or she wants to be advertised on, but the advertiser gets final approval. I am having a majority of my clicks come from Entrecard, and I will publish these at Month 1 end. Clicks via Entrecard to Deal Money so far...93 (one week).I enjoy Entrecard because it's very simple. I only have to worry about one spot being used in my columns, and it ...

Buying Open Box Items
2008-03-07 22:14:00
I have to write about this topic merely for the fact that such good deals can be found via this method. I often find myself in Circuit City perusing around and checking out the new electronics they have. The best shelf in the store is the open box section though. Sometimes they have 3 or 4 things sometimes more. These are usually items returned in their time frame and have no box or such. They also sell off their floor models most of the time as well. These are excellent ways to get a smoking deal.Getting these open box items are great because they offer the warranty still, and you get your deal at the same time. These are great items to pick up and re-sell on eBay or Craigslist or even forums. The thing is to buy the item if its hot, even if you know you won't use...buy to sell. So next time your in Circuit City, Best Buy etc., don't for get to look for the open box gadgets!

Finding Deals on Online Forums
2008-03-06 04:11:00
Let me get into this subject a little bit. I have purchased, and sold a lot of my personal stuff on forums. I personally don't love eBay because of their fees. They always end up being more than I account for in my pre-sale setup. There are some really good eBay, Paypal fee calcualtor web sites out that can help you get a cost, but I'd rather sell on forums. Here is the deal. I have made some money and lost some money selling on forums, but I find they are the best medium to get things done. There are forums from watches, to flashlights, and they all account for some type of hobby/interest. My trick has always been getting into a hobby, and using the online forum I join to buy and sell related items. I usually do this either getting a deal or selling for a profit as well. Don't get me wrong I have lost my fair share of money doing these things as well. When you choose to become a member of a forum it's really the be all end all of that hobby. However, there are plenty of competit...

Haven't Heard of A Website?
2008-03-05 17:47:00
So I've given a few deal finding website, and a few scenarios I have encountered while shopping for Deals. The big question comes when you find an online store, and really haven't heard of them before. What do you do? Do you take the chance and buy from them hoping that you can trust this company? The answer is: http://www.resellerratings.com/. This site is the perfect blend. You can find deals, talk on message boards, and the best part is you can find reviews on over 14,000 stores by everyday consumers. They are dedicated to making the consumer happy. The website is really laid out nicely, and I prefer it over some other ratings sites merely for its layout. You can search by typing in the name of the website, or you can manually search. Once your search is complete the results show in a lifetime, and a 6-month review graph. You can also read all of the reviews left by other consumers on the same page . The site also lets you track all of the history for the website in terms of rev...

Gateway FX P-6831 Laptop...Hot?
2008-03-04 19:49:00
This laptop is the reason why being able to find your own deals through various sources versus just using one website deal site is sometimes better. I like to think I am showing my readers how to start thinking like a deal hunter. Sure I could sit here and post a collaboration of deals like every other Joe in the world, but I would rather teach someone to fish and eat for a lifetime sort of mantra. This laptop currently as I am writing this is on Best Buy's website and sells for $1349. Now let me explain to you why this a good deal. The specs alone on this laptop are pretty exciting, and comparable laptops from Dell may go for over $2,000. Best Buy had this laptop for $1199 for a few weeks, and then brought it back up to it's original price of $1599. The price on this has fluctuated quite a bit, but if you were able to jump on this Laptop for $1199, it's quite a deal IMO. This deal was most likely listed on a deal site somewhere, but you might read it and the deal might be dead at...

Got Apex? Deals & Coupons
2008-03-04 01:37:00
I remember the day I found this site. It was about 5 years ago, and in my head I thought "GOLDMINE". It was the culmination of all my deal scouring in one spot, and someone is doing it for me. It's kind of like a cornucopia of affiliates and deals on one page. The best part was the connections this site had versus just me flying solo. This site is one of my favorites for finding a great deal, and for just checking out every day.The setup on Got Apex is literally the easiest navigational site known to digital man. It's part of the vBulletin setup, but really resembles a nice blog template. Simple and to the point. Got Apex lists daily deals that are submitted, and they also have a list on the right upper corner of all the stores they offer coupons for. These are great if your in a pinch and need to find a coupon for something last minute.Let me give you an example from a deal I'll never forget from Got Apex. In 2004 Dell had the 700M notebook out. It was new to the market for a 12...

Getting Deals from Affiliates
2008-03-03 03:52:00
Lately I have been reviewing a lot of blogs, and of course the majority of them are the usual "Make Money Online" blogs. The ones that have one goal of making money for the writer, but usually are busts. However, there are a few bloggers that are really connected with the right affiliates, and it can help us little guys out.John Chow from John Chow dot Com is really a pioneer in the making money online theme. He has more readers, and more revenue than anyone I've seen. I normally wouldn't be linking another blogger with out any benefit to me, but he can offer us some nice benefits.Just going through John's site, I came across a number of affiliate networks that John offers deals with. Usually these deals save the person some money, or get them started at a fraction of the cost. These in my opinion are truly a good find to save you money. I will explain my reasoning on this. Most of the stuff John offers are for domains, ad networks, and signing up as a referral to him. I do my fai...

Dell : Genius or Stupidity?
2008-03-02 16:47:00
I love Dell Computers. Why? Well other than the fact that Dell has some pretty sleek looking computers, and is usually always on par with current technology, they have great prices. I bet you're reading right now, and saying I think Dell is pretty expensive. At first glance, yes, Dell is expensive for some things that you may shake your head at, but follow me on this one. Got Apex is a great site, and their number one affiliate is Dell. Got Apex has Dell coupons listed almost every day. They have coupons for Small Business & Home, and they usually are pretty decent. Other sites like FatWallet have dell as an affiliate, but FatWallet has a Hot Deals Thread that I use more and it will throw your hair back. Now you have some of the sites I use, and I will Post seperately about them in the future. Back to Dell...The reason I love Dell is for the simple reason they have an Outlet site. Dell has opted to re-sell computers that were bought and returned within their return policy. The ...

Woot: One Day, One Deal...
2008-03-01 14:11:00
A business plan I would like to tip my hat off to. The genius behind Woot was trying to create an employee-store slash market testing site, and instead, created Woot . Woot has been successful, and has been unable to be reproduced with as much integrity from lesser known sites. The idea is this. The site sells one item every 24 hours, and if the item sells out the sales are done until the next rotation of product(s). They do have some wacky deals like, two for one Tuesday, and some days they sell bandoleer's of carrots (bags of crap, BOC) for small money, and the purchaser gets a surprise package. Woot has also dedicated their time to come up with witty back stories, and descriptions for the product of the day. Woot also has statistics on volume of product sold and what times during the day. They also show the last wooter who wooted the item, so if you missed out you have someone to blame. There is a Woot community that either bands together and loves the product for that day, or th...

Westinghouse L2410NM 1080P LCD Display
2008-02-29 02:40:00
This is my most recent purchase. One that I must share with people. I found this deal on Hard Forums in the hot deal section. That is not the best part of finding this deal. This monitor currently retails for $550 at Best Buy. You can find it on pricegrabber for about $425-450 with shipping & tax at some decent sites. However, the day I pulled this deal up it was really a one day deal. The deal was for a Westinghouse L2410NM from Best Buy for a cool $350 plus local tax. This was by far the best deal on this monitor. I was hesitant at the time because I was using a laptop and not using a desktop PC. I was in a dilemma. I sent the link over to my buddy and he was amazed Best Buy was offering it so low. We got to talking and he has a fairly new Dell desktop he was willing to sell. I purchased the monitor that morning, and took it to my buddies house. We took it out and did our mini review of the monitor before finally exchanging cash for the Dell PC.The next day I went to check the...

How can I help you save money on your favorite gadgets?
2008-02-29 02:22:00
I have been using the Internet more than half my life, but I have always remembered getting deals and using them online since I got my first Credit Card. Deals are there, they just need to be found. I buy and sell a lot of my stuff on the Internet, and mostly through affiliate sites, and forums. eBay is a great place as well, but the re-seller market has saturated it substantially.I have a few of my favorite deal sites to the right in my blog here. However, looking for deals only starts with these sites. You have to dig, and be patient. I can remember waiting for weeks for certain dell coupons to publish years ago before Dell was the giant they were just to get the free shipping & printer when I ordered new. Who knew that shortly after that's all Dell would offer to customers, but it was a deal for me at the time. This blog will help people get the deals they need, and save some cold hard cash. Sure, there are plenty of people that may be better at getting deals, and might know ...

About
2008-01-01 16:35:00
You guessed it another deal finding, money making blog. Well the fact is I started this blog because for years I?ve always been the one (out of my friends, and family) that finds the deals. I have helped many people buy, and sell quite a few things on the internet, and I've made people some money doing it. I figured since I was doing already, why not make a blog, and see if I can generate some income on the side by making a collaborative deal hunter site, and make money site. The junction of these thoughts, and ideas have led me to create Deal Money. Welcome, and enjoy.
