Trade Alert - DTMN
2007-10-25 19:41:00
Sold clients out at .13 for a great profit.I would have loved to hold onto this, but there has not been any further news since the shareholder meeting was cancelled. I have tried to email the CEO twice, but he has not responded. With a 500 size on the bid, I could not resist. 300,000 shares is hard to dump on a relatively low volume day.

Client Account Perfomance Takes a Big Step Back
2007-10-24 22:22:00
After two really nice days in a row, client accounts had a terrible day today. The main culprit was IMH, which I sold clients out at an average of .85 or so. With 70,000 shares in the mix, that was a big big hit. Thankfully, despite today's overall 3.8% drop, clients are still slightly ahead for the week. Hopefully, with one of my main laggards out of the portfolio's gone, things will be positive for the rest of the week. We'll see.

News Out - TTGL
2007-10-24 22:18:00
This is good news, I just don't know how good. One thing is for sure, TTGL is a dynamic company. Something positive seems to always occurring. Trade Updates - SGN, IMH, TTGL, & TKAT
2007-10-24 17:49:00
SGN - Bought shares for a client at $1.56. There is great support at $1.55. I think this one is ready to rebound.IMH - Sold clients out between .84 and .86 for big losses. I also sold out at .83 for a big loss.TTGL - Bought shares for a client at $2.03. If the stock can close over $2.01, I think it will be heading higher again. The MACD has already flattened in negative territory, and the RSI is over 50 again.TKAT - Bought shares at .05 for a client. I am hearing that the RM may be announced soon. We'll see.

Trade Update - IMH

I haven't been able to post because a number of trades are in process, however, I will say that all clients are mostly out of this one between .84 and .86. There are only 1600 shares left to sell at .86. I got out at .83.

Stock Review
2007-10-24 02:20:00
Since I had some email questions today on the stocks in the various SI portfolio's, I thought I would review there status tonight.DMTN - .15, up .045, on very heavy volume. I guess I will start off with the best one. The stock has more than doubled over the last few trading days on increasing volume. The reason of course, is the announced buyout for .49/share. If this deal is for real, and is approved by shareholders, the stock obviously still has a lot of room to go. The key question is if it is for real. So far every indication is that it is. In order for investor confidence to continue in this regard, we will need to see a PR from the company stating the date of the shareholder vote. I would expect that very soon. Next, shareholders should receive proxy's from their brokerage firm. Once that occurs, I'd say there is a very high percentage chance that the deal comes off. From a technical point of view, the stock is above all three major moving averages, the RSI is ov...

Client Accounts Continue Comeback
2007-10-23 22:08:00
After gaining over 1.3% yesterday, client accounts jumped another 2.5% today. The YTD loss has now been trimmed to around -4%. I will say that the majority of today's gain did came from DMTN, but hey, money is money....

APIO - 8-K
2007-10-23 20:51:00
As expected, right after the shareholders voted to increase the AS to 1 billion shares, the company sold 666,666 (bad number) shares of it at .75. The PPS was at $1.00 before this was filed. Thankfully, we got out in the mid .90's. See link to filing below:http://biz.yahoo.com/e/071023/apio. ob8-k.html
AIS
2007-10-23 19:56:00
AIS is taking a big hit right now (and so am I as a result). There is no news, and as far as I know the fundamentals are still good. My only fear would be another equity finance deal, or a re-pricing of the last one. The last one was done at $1.60. We'll see what happens.
DMTN - Approaching Double Top (UPDATED)
2007-10-23 17:45:00
There is a double top at .155. The stock is currently at .15. If it can break through .155, we should see .20. I know that we are looking for .49 (buyout price) in the end, but these technical hurdles are still important at the moment, in my opinion.UPDATE: Double Top broken!!! The stock is at .16 right now.
APIO
2007-10-23 01:16:00
If you bought into APIO, as I did for clients, and are wondering why things didn't work out as expected based on the technicals, here may be the reason why:API Nanotronics Reports on Annual Shareholders' MeetingIf you read down the release, you'll see this gem among items approved by shareholders on Friday: Approve an amendment to API's certificate of incorporation to increase the number of authorized shares of its common stock from two hundred million to one billion. That's right, it says "billion". Quite a bit of dilution coming this stocks way, which will kill a stock every time.
Client Account Perfomance Rebounds
2007-10-22 22:35:00
I mentioned Friday that my hope was that -7.9% YTD would be the low for this recent down cycle, and thankfully, for now it is. Client portfolio's were up over 1.3% today.

Trade Alert II - APIO & IRSN
2007-10-22 17:11:00
Sold clients out of APIO from .95 to .99 for a decent loss. Moved them into IRSN from $1.00 to $1.01. IRSN had great news today, and was selling for much higher recently ($1.20's). See link to news below:Irvine Sensors Funded Backlog at Record $54 Million Entering Fiscal 2008PS: I also bought shares of LOCM for a client at $6.02 (today's low), as that is right above the 50 DMA ($6.01).

OMNI, TIDE, ARIA, ACTS, & Hurricane Plays (NSMG, WEGI, ECCI)
2007-09-26 00:44:00
First I want to talk about OMNI & TIDE, they are similar, in that they were at one point almost the only stocks I held in client portfolios. Both are in the energy sector. And both of them have not done well recently. TIDE over the last couple of days, and OMNI over the last three days. Prior to this weakness both looked good technically, especially TIDE which was above all three major moving averages. OMNI had just been above it's 20 day EMA. Both stocks had positive MACD's, and RSI's over 50. It's hard to peg exactly why they fell, although the OSX has been down sharply over the last two days, however, I would think that would pertain more to OMNI than TIDE. Most oil services companies I follow were down today (GW, BRNC, ESV, etc). TIDE is primarily a natural gas company. Additionally, the stock is a penny stock, and as such, is usually not affected by major indexes.Putting the possible reasons for the drops aside, both stocks do not look so hot technically anymore. Other than...

Trade Alert III - TIDE

Sold clients out at .17 for a decent loss. This one broke down technically today. However, I will say that there is a lot of strength at .17.

Trade Alert - NSMG
2007-09-25 20:18:00
Bought some for a client at .059. This one was given to me by Trade r. The stocks looks like it has bottomed here over the last few days at .057. The volume has been good of late, except for today. The float is extremely low, so it could definitely run when it's ready.

News Out - SGN
2007-09-25 15:22:00
More good news for the company, as they have added another $3.3 million in sales. Previously they reported $2 million in sales. So that brings the total to $5.3 million in a short time span. This is probably why the stock rose .19 yesterday to $1.44. We'll see what happens this morning. Below is the link to the PR:Signalife Receives Another $3.3 Million Sales Orders

Market Wrap
2007-09-25 00:52:00
The NASDAQ closed down 3 points to 2668 today. The market started out nicely this morning, up as much as 22 points, and was positive for most of the day. Then it fell sharply, and was down as much as 11 points. It rallied near the close to finish barely off. Looking at the chart, things still look good here, although I would not rule out another pullback to around 2625 to 2650. Overall, I am counting on the NASDAQ being more up than down over the next week. That is why I bought ARIA & ACTS. Both are market sensitive, and both could make nice runs if they break certain resistance areas. For ARIA it is around $5-$5.05, for ACTS it's $5.01. Both were close today, especially while the market was positive, but were unsuccessful at breaching those areas. The good thing for both, is that they closed above major moving averages today. For ACTS it was the 20 day EMA, and for ARIA it was the 200 DMA.I already went over the area that the NASDAQ could pullback to, now looking at the opposite e...

News Out - GDVI
2007-09-24 13:14:00
Almost on cue, GDVI has a PR out this morning touting their recent quarter, and talking about a more positive future. Here is an excerpt that I liked from the PR:Global Diversified said it is expecting stronger revenues during the balance of the current fiscal year ending April 30, 2008 because of our current backlog, pending purchase orders and current bidding activity. It would be nice if that current bidding activity leads to a new contract being awarded. Portfolio Wrap-up For the Week Ending 9/21/07 - Stock Insight Hits +151% YT
2007-09-23 16:27:00
Below is the chart for this week. Since it shows up small, you can just click on the image, and it will be large enough to view.As you can see by the title, the portfolio was up this week. It was only by 2.4%, but that was enough to push it over the 150% mark. One note on this, now that the portfolio is a lot smaller, the percentages will move a lot easier. This can obviously work against me too, but this with week with both GDVI & AIS moving higher, it was in my favor. Both of those stocks only had small gains this week. Below is this week's portfolio chart:The rows in white represent stocks that were sold during the week. The "Day Gain/Loss" columns represent what happened yesterday.I already spoke at length about GDVI in the previous post, so I will only talk about AIS here. At 4pm ET, when the market closed, it looked like we had the close I had been looking for last week. The stock had closed at $1.45, which was right on the 200 DMA, and above the 20 day EMA ($1.42). While $1....

Client Performance Update
2007-09-22 17:10:00
After a big week for clients last week, I was looking at another one as of COB Wednesday. However, that's when things began to go south. I had made some good on the fly trades with AMD, CRUS, & AURC, however, that success was erased by losses in OMNI. It fell slightly on Thursday, and then really dropped yesterday. With 61% of the total SI portfolio's invested in that stock (see chart below), that put a big damper on this week. All that being said, clients lost a about 1.4% this week, bringing the YTD total to -5.6%. I was pretty much on the money last week when I said: "If things do go well next week, it will primarily be from OMNI & TIDE, plus any new trades I make". Both of those stocks fell this week, however, I mitigated the loss with the trades I made during the week. Hopefully, OMNI turns things around next week, I think the chart is still okay, but could be better. The MACD is still positive, but the RSI is below 50. The stock is below it's 20 day EMA ($7.82), but has goo...

Market Wrap - Friday Sept 21
2007-09-22 15:40:00
Here is the market wrap for yesterday. The NASDAQ closed up 17 points to 2671. The pullback from Tuesday and Wednesday's big move up, only lasted one day (Thursday), and was at the lowest end of the range I gave for it on Wednesday night, as I mentioned previously. Right now the market looks good technically, with all indicators being bullish. The key as I mentioned the other day, is for it to pass the 52-week high at 2725 in the short term. We are 54 points away from that now. There is always a chance for another move down next week, even though things look favorable right now. If that does occur, support is at the following levels: 2650, 2625, & 2600. Hopefully, the first one holds up again.

Regular Friday Posts
2007-09-22 05:18:00
Normally, I would have a post up already about the market, and this week's client portfolio performance. Additionally, since Yom Kippur began at sundown, I would have a post up for that as well. Unfortunately, due to a crushing migraine, I have been out of commission since 4pm ET. I was already in pain before that, but I at least wanted to stay on top of the market. If you have read my "My Story" link, you know that I suffer from daily migraines. The good thing is that for the most part the medicine takes care of these, however, there are days when nothing works. That's what happened today. Those normal Friday posts will be up tomorrow, so stay tuned for that. Thanks, Rob.

Trade Alert - ARIA

Bought shares for a client at $4.83. The stock is above both it's 20 day EMA ($4.78) and 50 DMA ($4.70), and should at least head up to the 200 DMA in my opinion ($4.95).
