Ponder This? Six-Pack #24
2008-04-02 18:42:00
1. The United States Federal Government “War on Drugs” which has militarized our domestic law enforcement agencies, imprisoned millions of individuals for the faux “crime” of simply hurting themselves, created terror-filled inner city war zones, enriched thugs and brutes both at home and domestically, and helped fund numerous organizations with purely evil intent, is an ...

Would Bush and Cheney Really Have the Audacity to Attack Iran?
2008-04-01 20:17:00
I sure hope not, but heavily decorated American thinker Paul Craig Roberts is speculating tightly to that effect. Folks, if you are not enraged by our government’s continued bald aggression and the damage it is doing to our country, there is something wrong with your head. Please speak out.

2008-04-01 01:49:00
On March 31, 2008, the biggest question facing America is not who will be president, or will Congress actually wake up from its lobbyist-induced slumber, or even who will win the 2008 World Series. Nope, the biggest question is, will the built up imbalances in the macro-economy, structured by years and years of below-market ...

Expand Federal Reserve Oversight and Control?
2008-03-31 18:15:00
Hank Paulson’s wildly moronic plan to deal with the current financial crisis via massively expanded Federal Reserve System (privately owned) oversight of the total financial sphere of the economy smacks 100% of “not-goodness”. There is something inherently wrong with the following chain of activity: 1. Federal Reserve System helps foment seriously unstable financial circumstances (credit bubble) 2. Federal ...

Mortgage Mess: Congress Should Do Nothing
2008-03-31 05:41:00
After reading tons and tons of rhetoric and election year ideas about how to “fix” the mortgage and housing markets with a variety of government sponsored schemes, I have come to the strong conclusion that the federal government should in fact do absolutely nothing. While a number of folks are undoubtedly in a tough spot due ...

1. Eminent economist Paul Kasriel explains how trends in consumer borrowing, spending, saving, and net investment point to a future with a likelihood of declining growth in spurious consumer expenditures. Needless to say, the extreme lack of consumer savings, spurred on and encouraged by horribly ill-conceived Federal Reserve and other Federal Government policy, has ...

War is a Racket
2008-03-19 19:30:00
War is a great tool for unscrupulous people in positions of power to use for personal or associate gain. When war is paid for by taxpayers it provides a huge incentive for connected groups to continue war in order to fleece the taxpayers (and therefore all American people, because without the fleecing, the money would be ...

1. The big news of the past 24 hours relates to Barack Obama, the potentially racist preachings of his long-time pastor, Obama’s personal relationship with the man, and the issue of race in general. Yesterday Mr. Obama gave a speech on the issue and distanced himself from some of his pastor’s wayward views while ...

Memo to Fed: Stop Cutting Rates
2008-03-17 22:21:00
With the U.S. Dollar (Federal Reserve Note) on the ropes, the Fed continues to cut rates in hopes of bailing out the over-leveraged U.S. financial economy. If the Fed acts too drastically in its bail out efforts it can kill its own foundation - the Dollar standard. With many on Wall St. panicking and going ...

Fed Actions are Creating Federal Default Risk
2008-03-12 06:24:00
Today the Federal Reserve announced it would lend as much as $200 billion of Treasury notes in exchange for debt including private mortgage-backed bonds (which have been crashing in value as of late) to try to avert a flight from the securities that were expanded to an unprecedented degree during the recent housing bubble. The Fed is providing this unique shot of liquidity in hopes of stemming the relative carnage recently being observed in the housing and mortgage markets. Upon announcement of the strong shot of liquidity to banks’ balance sheets, the American stock markets surged. Today the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by over 400 points. Along with previous announcements of another $200 billion in various forms of Federal Reserve stimulus to the credit markets and banking system, this new form of stimulus is creating a form of stealth nationalization of credit market risk. Previously, the Fed only accepted treasury securities in exchange for cash on a short term ba...

?Off the Record? and the Lousiness of the American Press
2008-03-10 05:35:00
Glenn Greenwald writes a telling piece on the subservience of American “journalists” (mouthpieces?) to the ruling classes of our country. It is really amazing how much leeway our society currently gives to people in positions of power. I guess my questions are, is it blind faith? Is it out of fear? ...

Plain and simple, our federal government has become too large and too corrupt. Unfortunately for the people, this creates a massive burden that is helping to batter the economy, is creating more danger for Americans, and is threatening our way of life and the freedom of all people. Very Respectable Interview of Ron Paul on Fox Business

1. Social Security, though intended with heartfelt, however misguided, intent, is a ponzi-scheme. If we must have such a system, at least shouldn’t it be structured in an economically viable manner? Don?t Be a Self-Limiter

Keith Olbermann: ?We Will Not Fear?

The George W. Bush presidency has deliberately used American fear to push an anti-liberty agenda, seriously hurting American citizens while concurrently kowtowing to American corporations.
