ROI - Research on Investment
2007-03-29 06:20:00
I've been looking into different opportunities lately - either to start or to buy "investments" on the web. Here are the few options I'm considering:Selling products on eBaySelling products on an e-commerce websiteCreate a web page to provide service (fee or ad-driven)Buying existing web pages for streams of income from sponsor advertisementsThe first one is easiest for me since I've been selling on eBay for quite a while (thanks Abby for all the great eBay selling tips!); what I'll need to focus on is product sourcing. I'm looking for the right products and trust-worthy providers. Looks like I'm going to use a few drop shippers in order to fill my needs in this area. The rest will need more researching for me to get my feet wet. I have to develop or learn how to run an e-commerce website. The last option appeals the most to me. It's like owning real estates on the internet and collecting "rents" from the banners.Hopefully I can begin selling on eBay using drop shippers at the...

Life Carrying Debt
2007-03-27 04:58:00
After cumulating a huge load of consumer debt, I wanted to find out ways to educate myself in personal finance. I've read books, web pages, e-books and other resources to learn about money and debt. I saw experts in the field wrote about different ways to pay off loans and credit cards: one said pay off the cards according to their interest rates - highest first, to avoid extra cost in borrowing; others might suggest begin paying off credit account with the least balance to get the feel of "achievement". Any of these system works as long as the person is sticking with the plan consistently.Since net worth (assets - liability) is what really matters at the very end, I usually list all my liquid assets and debts at the end of each month; this way I can precisely track my financial progress and find out if I'm heading to the right direction. I will share my net worth with blog readers when I have it ready. My new year resolution was originally to have a net worth of $0.00 at the end ...

New Cell Phone
2007-03-24 05:31:00
Recently bought a new "used" phone from a friend. It's a Sony Ericsson K610i in evening red. I've been using my old Nokia 3390 for quite a while, and switching to a much advanced phone is pretty exciting! I know I'm a little behind in technology :P It has just about everything that I need: 2.0 mega pixels video camera, mp3 ring tone + player, blue tooth feature and 3G functionality (I've heard Rogers is going to launch it later this year in Canada). This phone has just become my favorite!Last night it fell off my jacket and headed to the ground. Although the phone is still working perfectly, the bottom has a few scratch marks. AWW :( I hope the dropped phone was 3390 instead.Toys like this are sucking up my cash - I think I should start avoiding these high ticket items whenever possible.

How I Accumulated My Debt
2007-03-23 02:23:00
I've been carrying this negative cash pile for quite some time -- around 2 years. It's not from student loan; I don't like studying (I would rather read on my own), and I wouldn't borrow for doing stuff that I didn't like. The debt is mostly from credit cards and line of credits. A lot of them was for cash advances, others were for purchases and instant gratifications. When I was still trying to expand my credit, I had been applying for bank accounts, credit cards, loans and line of credits. I was applying for quite a few of them in a month or so; I didn't know each time I opened an account the bank would have my credit bureau file pulled up, and left dents on my credit score and credit report. So not long after that I wasn't able to apply for anymore credits because my credit score was too low.I learned something... by doing that, although that was a tough lesson. I wish someone taught me about personal finances in school; but it's too late now. I would like to share my expe...

Blog on Debt
2007-03-21 16:59:00
I have recently quitted my job. While I'm not looking for a replacement at this moment, I'm definitely seeking some income streams (if possible) in order to retire my debt. Got the idea to blog when reading Nev's financial blog, which tracks Nev's financial success; since I'm not really doing well in this area, I think I should document my financial failure, and how I'm getting out of it as well to be a reference, to remind and motivate myself, and to track my progress.personal finance blog on debt managment and credit scoreThis blog will also include some personal events/activities so friends don't see me often can know how I'm doing. :) Enjoy!
