Well who would have thought about that. Sony is (yet again) copying Microsoft and will eventually release a video download service similiar to the Xbox Live Video Marketplace. Apparently Sony’s 10 year plan includes ideas like downloadable HD content, movies, music and television content. I believe if Microsoft wouldn’t be successfull with their Video Marketplace Sony’s 10 year plan wouldn’t include downloadable video content, but that’s another store. self-building batteries

Some very intelligent people at MIT have created the first ever self-building battery. Don’t think they gonna build themselves, wrap a nice paper around them and get into a package for sales. Instead they found a perfect way for electrode and electrolyte materials, that when combined, create a working rechargable battery. Fall 2007 thats it - we were all so sure this would be the time window when the third and final Halo installment will be released and now Bungie has finally confirmed the season with the first of many promotional artworks to follow. blu-ray disc playback with zero lags but only?

Okay this is not very practical and I do not believe more than one or two will try this (and of course you shouldn’t because you loose your guarantee), but there is a way of copying blu-ray movies on the PS3 hard disk. Except for lots of tweaking and command line operations engadget.com reports that this way blue-ray disc don’t have lags while fast forwarding (which they usually have -besides other problems like very slow menus and long loading times). I don’t believe this way Sony’s intention in the first place… Link: Engadget.com

Well if you are living in the US than you can download a free Borat theme and picture pack for your Xbox 360 dashboard (presumed you liked the movie). The content is free and only available on the US Marketplace. If you are living in another country and would like to get free promotional themes and picture packs than write Microsoft and tell them that you would like to see these kind of downloads outside the US Marketplace. The more your write the more likely is the chance that Microsoft brings you the same downloads!

I was really surprised today to see that Google has finally released the feed subscriber details for blogs. So far you didn’t know how many subscribers to your feed used Google because Google did not reveal the numbers. Now it is possible to see in Feed burner how many of your subscribers are actually from Google. That means for my blog that the numbers almost doubled - thanks to all readers! Well yesterday I was on a little shopping spree and bought myself some new clothes from Abercrombie & Fitch. I just love they classy yet very modern and rugged styles. I bought two polo shirts and a hoodie. I gonna take some pictures when they arrive. What I still did not buy but actually would need the most is a new pair of undies (actually two or three). The problem I have with underwear is that I do not know what to buy. Currently I love Ginch Gonch - they undies are so stylish and their current western theme is perfect. The only problem I have is that they are quite expensive compared to other brands like Aussiebum. Take a look at the pics and tell me what you would buy:

According to Kotaku.com has EA developer Andrew Garrett written on the freerepublic forums that the number one console of this generation is going to be the Xbox 360. My opinion ? get the 360 and/or the Wii. Skip the PS3 unless there’s a big change in the near future. He believes that Sony is not going to be very successfull with the PS3 unless they change their focus and/or something big happens in the future. Well I always said that - just think about the price of the PS3, you can get a Xbox 360 and a Nintendo Wii for just “one” Playstation 3. Anyway if you are not familiar with Andrew Garret, he joind Electronic Arts in 2003 and currently works on the new Command & Conquer game. Before EA he worked on the latest Dragon Lair video game for PS2, Xbox, Gamecube and PC. Whether it was Garret writing this entry or not, it should at least show officials that when insiders are not very happy with a system something might be wrong with it…!? Link to the Kota...

Now this is something I was dying to read and believed would never happen. As movieweb reports is Disney bringing back old-school 2D animation movies. Ed Catmull, president of Pixar and Disney Animation, said “At Disney, we will be making 3-D films, but we will also be bringing back hand-drawn 2-D films”. I must admit that reading this short news bit brought a smile on my face. I am so glad to read this because I loved movies like Aladdin, The LionKing or Beauty and the Beast and it was not just me being excited when the next feature length animation movie was finally released. I know that the last movies were not as good as the 80s and early 90s movies, but since Disney has decided to go back to the drawing board there is hope. Hope that some of their new movies will shine as bright as their classics. The first hand-drawn movie will be called The Frog Princess and will be released at the end of the year. Link to movieweb

Since Googl e has released the webmaster tools it is possible to get the whole site analyzed by Google (well actually they do this anyway). Google doesn’t only check the site’s status, but really gives you inside look in how Google and their web crawler find and see your site. You can get in-depth statistics about which pages are ranked where on Google, which external sites link to which of your pages and how your site does on the Google rankings. Very interesting is the web crawler feature where you can see what the latest Google cache of your site is, which pages are indexed and (very interesting) which websites are related to yours, though I do not know how Google determines this. Microsoft has announced today that on the release day of their upcoming action title Crack down a mandatory update will be available through Xbox Live . The update patches some lag problems while playing the co-op mode over Xbox Live. As much as I like the idea of updates through Xbox Live I must admit that this bugs me a little bit. Microsoft must make sure that developers do not release unfinished games because they can still update them later. Well if you haven’t been reading about the new (probably hit) show “Friday Night Lights” than where have you been? The show expands the 2004 movie Friday Night Lights (Widescreen Edition) and centers on the small town Dillon and their football team. Even if you are not into Football than you might like the show because it features beautiful guys and girls - ie. Zach Gilford ,Scott Porter or Taylor Kitsch who you might have seen in “Snakes On A Plane” or “The Covenant”. Anyway the first reviews of the pilot are in and it seems that this show is one of the best of the new season.

I guess I have told you before that I had ordered the Dieux du Stade 2007 calendar. Well a couple of days ago while browsing the net I came across this book which I ordered for inspection at my local book store. I didn’t really know what to expect because I thought that it would feature the same pictures one can find in the calendar’s, but this book is much more. It is an amazing intimate look into the life (well the more or less nude life) or the french rugby team. Very interesting, very sensual with wonderful pictures.

I have been thinking about buying this album for quite a while - actually for about one year now, but could never make up my mind if it’s worth the money. But a couple of days ago I finally decided to give it a try because I could pick up their first (?) album Libertad for roughly 7 bucks at my local music store. I can tell you if you are into rock music and don’t mind that they sing in spanish than La Ley is definitely worth a look. The tracks are all very good with some exceptional great ones like “Libertad”, “Mi Ley” and “I Los Demas”. La Ley’s style is not unique and they sound like lots of other bands, but there is still something very special about their music. It just flows and makes you smile. I don’t know why, but its just a very cool and fun album and after the years not very expensive anymore. If you have the chance than listen to it, I guess you wonÄt be disappointed!

Yesterday I have finally watched the third and thankfully last part of the new Star Wars Trilogy and I honestly cannot understand the hype around the movies. In my personal opinion they are just “okay” sci-fi movies, not very good, but not too bad either. First of all Episode 3 was far too long. Shortened to 90 minutes it would have been fun, but with over two hours I almost fell asleep twice. The strange thing about the visual effects is that they have been far too obvious. I am a fan of CGI stuff and special effects, but they shouldn’t be recognizable. In Star Wars though every single frame was edited and most of the time they filmed the actors in front of a green screen and that didn’t look very real. Actually I caught myself several times saying “that looks unreal”. As I said that doesn’t make the whole movie bad. It is still an amazing epic with a wonderful Hayden Christiansen (good looking and well good looking) and beautiful, though n...

If you want to know everything about Skydiving than you could read this book Parachuting: The Skydiver’s Handbook or you just read the following numbers and judge for yourself if 200 bucks for a “tandem skydive” is worth the money. 30 bucks for the parachute (maintenance…) 4 bucks for insurance 45 bucks for two plain tickets (you have to get up there somehow!) 13 bucks airfield fee 35 bucks skydiver’s fee (that’s what you pay the guy who throws you out of the plane) 40 bucks profit (for the company who provides skydives) +VAT I have found these numbers on google and all are just basics rounded numbers and are not necessarily realistic, but I think they show quite nice for what the money one would pay is used.
