Don?t Worry, This ain?t normal.
2007-09-27 03:40:00 They aren’t like this very often. If ever. Dang. Good thing she wasn’t delivered naturally. I can’t imagine the episiotomy that would have been necessary. More About: Worry , Anecdotes , Normal
Why Get Married?
2007-09-14 19:10:00 Here’s a link to a non-daddy blogger. I highlight this piece because if you are an impending father, or already a father, you need to start thinking beyond yourself, to what is best for your kids. And what is best, is unquestionably marriage. Research has proven over and over that the best, most well adjusted, most successful ... More About: Parenting , Wisdom , Anecdotes , Married

It?s A? Boy?
2007-09-14 16:55:00 We think so anyway. It does appear that either the child is a boy or had her hand held between her legs the entire time. It would be a good joke on Mommy and Daddy if it were true. The boys were disappointed - then again so was I BUT I don’t love the prospect of ...

Impending?
2007-09-07 16:22:00 Panic? Doom? Joy? Disappointment? This is the problem with technology. You get to wrestles with ethical questions that weren’t even conceivable a few decades ago. Finding out the gender of your child is a controversial thing. On the one hand, female infanticide has been a horrifying reality in many cultures, and with ... More About: Parenting
1st Movement
2007-09-04 21:40:00 My wife was somewhat annoyed that the baby hadn’t moved. They usually move noticeably sooner (at least our first 3 taught her to expect that). So, this weekend, while visiting the In-Laws (and sleeping in their basement), she finally felt something. She is noticeably more at ease. Or would be if we had not become a statistic ... They Aren’t THAT Bad…
2007-08-24 22:00:00 YES! My kids are better behaved than SOMEONE else’s we know! We had a friend of ours over last night, and we were trying to do a little paper pushing together, and our kids kept coming down and lurking around. Not too noisy, but a little bit of a distraction. Then our friend says as she is leaving, “Your kids are so QUIET! How do you do that? My boys are so noisy!” We’re both like, “Yeah, you weren’t here in the afternoon.” I called around 3pm to see if we needed anything, and my wife could not hear me at all in the phone over all the screaming and yelling going on. She sounded beseiged. Still, nice to know someone appreciates the calms in our storm.
The Blogfathers - Good Stuff
2007-08-22 21:36:00 I surfed on over to their blog today, and I found about 4 good articles on their front page. I highly reccommend them for insight into fatherhood and a wittiness that entertains as well as informs. Especially enjoyable at the top of the page was a piece on how we all say our kids won’t watch ... More About: Parenting , Stuff , Good , Good Stuff , Fath
The Sound of Silence?
2007-08-22 16:33:00 Two days of anecdotes, because I don’t have anything riveting to say about the pregnancy today. So, we’re driving over to a friend’s place, and the missus and I finally reach the breaking point of 3 boys with a thousand pointless questions and a penchant to vocalize at 110 decibels. Daddy lays down the law: “You all must ... More About: Sound , Anecdotes , Silence

Review: Dangerous Book For Boys
2007-08-16 18:33:00 I mentioned I was going to get the “Dangerous Book for Boys “. I finally received it from Amazon yesterday. I thought I had ordered it, waited a month, then discovered I hadn’t, so I finally ordered it, and received it. I like it’s cover, embossed, no stupid slipcover, very old school. Sturdy, good ... Home Birth?
2007-08-15 18:05:00 So my pregnant wife came back from her midwife checkup with a binder in hand yesterday. Uh oh. Ideas. She is thinking about a home birth. I was taken completely by surprise. Since she is a registered nurse, she has historically been absolutely convinced that the hospital is the place to go. But… I guess after 3 ... More About: Home , Birth
The Wife as a sportfish
2007-08-14 15:48:00 Courtesy of Almost a Dad, The commotion of her flopping around as she tries to get out of bed makes me feel like I’m sleeping next to a marlin fighting a fisherman’s line. However, as the sport fish to which I’m married leaves the room, I know I won’t be able to get back to sleep ... More About: Wife , Spor
The Google Cometh II: Nesting, Uterine Transplants and More
2007-08-13 18:38:00 Apparently my blog has reached the point where google considers it an authority of some significance. Though some of those topics are esoteric, or not at all founded in fact, I might as well own up to it. One recurring search seems to be on the theme of “male pregnancy”, or “uterus transplant“. I don’t get ... More About: Google , Anecdotes , Teri , Plant , Comet
Potty Training and Me
2007-08-13 18:09:00 Arg. So the 3 year old is proving impervious to any inticements to potty train. So far the only thing that has worked is “special occasion” pottying - he will go when we are camping, or when we are out in public and he can go to the washroom. Because the bathrooms are “special” he ... More About: Parenting , Training , Potty Training , TRAI , Raining
Loss
2007-08-10 16:49:00 Not mine, thankfully. I debated whether or not to post this. Some friends of ours, who fell pregnant at nearly exactly the same time as us, lost theirs at 3 months. It was very sad, and they took it hard, since they found out afterwards that it was the boy they had hoped for ... More About: Loss , Anecdotes
When A Pregnant Woman Catches a Cold
2007-08-09 15:45:00 So, two of my three kids have come down with a cold, and of course, their mother has caught it too. Interestingly, my wife’s usually weak immune system has historically performed better while she is pregnant. However, this one got through the defences. She put in a call to me for Sudafed, as apparently this is ... More About: Pregnant , Cold , Woman , Anecdotes
The Google Cometh
2007-08-08 16:46:00 So yeah, been seeing a lot of hits off Googl e lately for various search terms. Apparently I am starting to reach critical mass for keyword searches. Fun days. 2007-07-26 16:45:00 Approaching the end of the 1st trimester, and my lovely gazelle hates me for plying her with chocolate. No seriously. Male Pregnancy?
