Calebs made me proud this weekend
2008-03-31 22:08:00 The past 2 days we have had a few visitors in our home :-)Our church revival preacher brought his family for two out of the 4 nights he would be here.They live about an hour or so away so its hard to have to drive back and forth so many days. So they stayed the night last night and we've been the source of entertainment for their two wee ones.One age 2 1/2 and the other 1. (Did I mention shes preggo with a 3rd, due in a few months)Her children are very sweet and oh so cute.. Right now though their oldest is going through that hard "I want to hit and push because im soooo excited I cant contain my emotions" stage. HAHAHA I know this stage OH SO WELL.I remember at one time when Caleb was 2 I couldnt even go to a public play area with him.. he would just get so excited he'd push almost any kid he could find.. it was HORRIBLE!I was so down during that phase he went through and thought my child was the only boy who did this.. and that I was the only parent who had trouble controlling i... Eh...Heres hoping that the rain stops for an hour and the clouds open up :-)Weather .com said it be 61 today.. so thats not bad... Every time we go to the grocery store Caleb will point to things he'd like and then say "Does that have to much sugar?"I'm forever telling him that. :-)Saying things like "No... we cant eat that. It has to much sugar."Now he always points that out. So cute!One of the snacks he recently started loving are carrots. I use to get the baby sized carrots... and I still do for trips and such.. but lately he has preferred the full-size ones.I found an organic brand carrot at our local store that is very affordable! I tried letting Caleb eat it with the skin.. but he refused.. so I do peel it for him. I heard a lot of the nutrients is in the skin.. but I'm sure there is still some in the actual carrot as well.The other day he pretended his carrot was a sword and tooth brush.Just some encouragement... you can make eating healthy fun :-) More About: Sugar , Mama

2008-03-30 06:11:00 So I have this game called SIM 2 for the computer. Travis enjoys building houses on it.. gives him something to do while I blog HAH!We thought how it be fun though to play together...So we decided to check out the Sims 2 for the Ps2. We own a Ps2 (got it free! extra perk)... but we rarely use it.We went out tonight and rented this game from the local movie store...Started playing around 8:00pm...Its now past midnight and I had to quit. Travis is still playing!!I bet you never thought a Pastor and his wife would stay up to the wee hours of the night playing a video game.It was fun though... to bad we dont have a memory card. 2008-03-28 22:22:00 Im very thankful our friend Kenneth let me borrow his Nikon D200.It will be the camera I use on mondays shoot...Its a nice camera... but I'll be honest im not use to it yet haha.Its a lot different than my canon...Im not sure how to work everything yet... but hopefully with some practice over the weekend ill get more comfortable. Here are a few photos I snapped outside this afternoon. They came out a tad dark though... and the colors seemed to lean towards being reddish.. not sure why.OH! and I thought Id let everyone know who was curious.Taite did get his 1st Adjustment at the Chiropractor. He did well. He was a tad nervous at 1st... but he didnt break out in screams or tears so all is well. He did have one spot on his neck out of place. The Dr. used the activator to get it back in place and wah-lah Taites aligned again.Caleb on the other hand wouldnt let anyone touch him. I spent over $440.00 on a new lens for my Canon Camera. Thats a lot of money!! especially for a WAHM like myself... I dont make a lot of money... so to spend that much for me is a big deal.Today I was suppose to get my new lens in the mail. I paid an extra 15 dollars to make sure it was delivered by this weekend... I have a photo shoot on Monday so I needed it fast.Today no package...So I go online to check my order status..I check it out and... they delivered my 400+ dollar lens to some lady in California! WHAT IN THE WORLD?! I didnt even know who this woman was.So I call Amazon... and the lady verifies my account, shipping info, etc... and she said that all my information was correct... and she wasnt sure why it was shipped to Cali. 2008-03-27 17:42:00 Lately we've been dealing with a very opposed behavior from Caleb.Example...Today I had to put Caleb in our room to nap. I had Taite in Calebs room because at 3pm we're suppose to have someone work on our water heater/dryer... and I knew had I put Taite in his room (right beside the laundry room) this would of been an issue come 3pm.So I put Caleb in our room and asked him..."Now Caleb what side do you want to sleep on? mine or daddys?"He said ..."Both of them."SO I said.."Ok... you can sleep in the middle then, okay?"He said.."okay!"He begins to climb onto the bed and the second I make a space for him in the center of the bed.. he says..."I dont want to sleep in the middle."This makes me want to pull my hair out.I of course MADE him sleep in the middle.Hes done this with so many things lately...just says one thing.. then a second later says another.His favorite sentence lately is.."I dont want to..."I seriously cannot think of how to answer this except for "I dont care if you don... 2008-03-26 23:24:00 Being a young mom (24 in case you didnt know) I get a lot of looks when I take my child to a Doctor/ER/wherever... and they ask me about vaccinations..."Are your kids up to date?""Can we see the kids records?"Etc...When I tell them "Oh, well we dont vaccinate.. "You better believe I get a raised eye brow or two.This erks me to no end.The looks and the tone I get from many people in the medical field after telling them I dont feel my children needs these is just insulting...They look at me with looks like..."She doesnt care about her child.. why would she not vaccinate?""She doesnt know what she is talking about"The list could seriously go on.. and on..I personally dont let this get to me.I mean it does bother me that a person cant even take their child in without getting these sort of remarks. Grant it there are some Dr's that dont have a problem with people not vaccinating.. but every single one Ive been to does.Its almost like people think I would choose not to vaccinate just to ... I have two ladies waiting for me to do their blogs...after them I will be open for template jobs.Here are a few I just did. 2008-03-26 01:59:00 How many of you stuff all kinds of junk under your bed?ME!!!Thats one reason why I purchased a bed skirt... to hide junk.With a smaller home (not super small.. but small for a family of 4 I think) ... we dont have much storage. Our closets are very tiny... so I find myself using the bed as a closet...Today though... it was getting to me. I dont like living in clutter... so why keep it around... under the bed.During Taites nap I get the broom out and shove out all the junk out from under the bed.WOW it was a lot!!4 pairs of shoes (Travis')I had two pairs under it...toys...hair clips...hair dryer, curlers, etc..etc..Papers... tissues, socks, clothes... I cant even name everything that was under it.Now though.. its all gone. I organized what needed to stay... and got rid of what needed to go. I threw out an entire trash bag full of stuff.When you look under our bed now its spotless... with the acception of Travis' gym bag... and my hair dryer/straightener.Once I cleaned that room it ... 2008-03-25 03:01:00 Since getting married 5 years ago I never really worked much... I mean I worked.. but all our money went together to pay bills and such. When we 1st got married I worked for the PR Dept at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (SEBTS). It was only part time.. and I did it on the side while taking some classes at the school. While working for them I got pregnant with Caleb... so a few months later I was out of a job on Maternity... then we moved to Ohio... and since then I havent worked outside of the home until now.And really Im not working outside of the home... because I do most of my work IN the home.. or during times Travis can watch the kids (photo shoots).Ive saved up a good amount of money through blogherads, templates, paid ads on simple (WOO!) and so on...It felt good to actually pay for something and not have to worry Travis with it. I love being able to do that. He takes care of all our bills.. so to be able to pay for a few things every now and then is a nice for me ... More About: Purchase

Lens shopping is stressing me out...
2008-03-24 14:48:00 at the peach farm Originally uploaded by finadrea I just have to say that buying a new lens is very stressful! :-I loved my tiny 50mm 1:1.8 lens so much... even though it was only 88 dollars... and to be honest id purchase another one like it if I knew it wouldnt break so easily again.Spending 88.00 is much easier than 400.00AHH! to many choices.If I didnt have a shoot Monday Id take my time.. but I only have a few days... I could use my friend Kenneths camera (he let me borrow it).. but im not use to his (its a nikon).i'll just use my lil Fuji Film v10 HAHA (yea right). It took the photo to the right... my lil point and shoot does a good job... but its no comparison to the canon rebel.Update:I think I decided on the Tamron 17-50mm/f2.8It has a warranty as well... so thats appealingOr the EF 50mm F/1.4 Canon lens...I think the 50mm would give me a sharper image.. but I think the Tamron has a larger range and would be helpful for weddings and such. Its been done before.. but my mom emailed this to me because they performed this at her church. A whole bunch of young people came down and accepted Christ after it was performed. A very powerful drama!!It reminds me so much that life with Christ isnt about labeling ourselves "Christians or Believers." It is a daily walk and a LIFE STYLE. 2008-03-22 18:49:00 This evening I went to our local Walmart to buy some poster Board for a project at church.While there I checked out the bedding selection. I have been wanting a spare bedding set for our master bedroom... but just never really took time to look.Today though I had a few minutes and decided to look.I found one I liked (I couldnt find the exact photo online.. but I found one similar).Any how. It was close to 90 dollars. So I was thinking it be soft...yea right!!What a bag of cheap junk. Sorry :-It seriously felt worse than those cheap hotel comforters. It was awful.I put that thing right back in the bag and ill take it back later today or monday.I mean wow..I know walmart is cheap.. but I didnt expect something that cost 90 dollars to be THAT bad.I know better now :-)I want to get some organic bedding... so maybe ill just save up for the good stuff. :-) More About: Cheap

I was already dressed and didnt want to risk getting my clothes wet while washing.. so I throw on Calebs apron... because I had no clue where mine was (I have one some place...).So here I am washing dishes in a black and red child size apron.I am such a mom... :-DIt served its purpose!Tonight Travis and I were able to have dinner with our Chiropractor and his Fiance'. It was nice. I enjoyed it. Both of them are very sweet and easy to talk with. They may even be reading my blog right now ;-)Owh and they have the cutest cats!!! I told them I will have to come over to get my cat fix ... cause I seriously would love a kitten :-)Time to snuggle, night!Easter Egg hunt in the morning...Ahh.. the life of a mom ;-) I LOVE IT!

2008-03-21 01:42:00 Today Travis went to Calebs 1st pre-school easter egg hunt. I was unable to go because Taite got down for a late nap.. and it worked out that Travis got out of his Chiropractor adjustment at the right time and was able to go in my place. I wanted to go but really the timing was just off for Taite.. and I really needed a shower after working out... I could of gone but the funk from my 'must have a bath now' self may of offended some. :- so its good he went. Good bonding time for him any how.Travis took some photos for me (fine pix fuji film cam - since my canons not in use right now ::sniffle!!::). He does a good job and Im thankful my husband will whip the camera out without thinking much of it. So nice to see the photos he brings home.Travis told me that during the hunt Caleb comes to him and says..."Ok Daddy, im done. I have enough."Yet on the field there were still TONS of eggs.. but Caleb thought that since he had a good few he didnt need anymore. I thought it was sweet :-)C... More About: Buddy , Hunt

I knew it was most likely Caleb.. but didnt jump up right away because he normally just sits on the sofa and waits...A few seconds later though I hear a door open... and then a big "Clu-Clunk!" I jumped up immediately... thinking by the time I got to whatever the noise was that Taite would be crying.I get up though and see Caleb carrying a table chair (kiddy chair) into Taites room. He was planning on using this to climb into Taites bed (hes done it before).I was steamed.Not just because Caleb ALMOST woke his brother up (amazedly Taite didnt stir.. I think because he had a rough night last night.. hes teething and its resulting in some sleep issues)... but I was angry with him because we've talked about this before.I dont mind if Caleb goes in to Taites room to play with him. I had didnt have it on my neck (which isnt like me)...I sit down and the tip of the lens hits the ground (in calebs room) and the TIP falls off! from what I can see the glass or lens isnt broke.. its the top of the lens separated from the bottom. Its hard to explain.. but the good news is I think its fixable... I hope.. and heres praying it wont cost more to fix it than just buy a new lens.I was in the market for a new one any how.. so I guess now is a better time than ever to purchase one.Im thankful the lens I have only cost me 80 bucks... vs. the one I want thats over 400 dollars!I had to vent...for a photographer a lens (and only lens at that) breaking can send me into a depression HAHA. Hopefully ill stay busy and wont think about it (yea right)I did get some cool photos today with the wind conditions outside. I love hair blowing in photos.
