Today I did a photo shoot for a lady I met back in Oct. I photographed her (At the time) 6 month old daughter Sara while on a retreat with Pastors wives (she was one of them).Her lil girl was so cute I couldn't resist asking her if I could take her pictures.SO I did and they apparently loved them! We kept in touch after the retreat.. and she traveled from their home (2 hrs from us!) to have me take her daughters photos again! and some family portraits.It went well.It was a bit chilly out.. but not super cold. So we managed to do the outdoor photos without heavy coats on.Sara is 1 year... and her mom is due with a 2nd child in May. Always fun doing photos with pregnant women :-)Below are some fav's of mine..See more HERE

Prayer for Taite - Updated *they of course pushed vaccines again*

Im on my way to the Er where my husband is with Taite .Taite hit his brow this morning (right above his eyebrow line) on our fish tank stand... and it put a big 1 inch gash across his brow (horizontal).It wasnt bleeding an awful lot but it was pretty big. We think it needs stitches.Travis rushed him to the ER since Caleb wasnt even dressed...Im on my way out now.The thing that concerned me was how tired Taite was acting shortly after the bump. I hope he doesnt have a concussion...*Update*We're back from the ER.All is ok.He did have to have the wound bonded shut with some sort of glue. To be honest Im not totally sure about this "derma bond?" but Because I didnt know anything I wasnt sure what to do.. so we just let them do it. It is basically a super glue type stuff that holds the cut in place and slowly goes away with time. They said its perfectly safe for babies.Im trusting the Lord will take care of Taite regardless if its 100% safe or not.Taite did great..Even when they had to s...

Tattoos and Kids :-)

The other day we got this little pirate tattoo (you know the kid kind). Its one of those that you just pay with a wet towel, hold for 30 seconds and wah-lah instant tattoo.I dont mind these tattoos. I think they can be cute and the kids have fun with them.What I find funny is that we allow children to play with these tattoos... and make it seem "COOL" and "FUN" at the age of 3 or whenever... yet when the child is 16 years old and ask about a REAL tattoo we tell them its wrong. At least thats what I hear from lots of christian parents.Now this isn't a post saying you should allow your teen to get a tattoo. I think a tattoo if you want one should be well thought out... and at the age of 16 I dont think you can make a great choice regarding something that has to stay with you the rest of your life.Ive read online about tattoo removals... and majority of the removals done are those of women... and people who got tattoos as teens.My point to the post is I found humor in the whole "lets ...

Papa (my dad) came to visit yesterday for a day or so. He was driving back from Southern Delaware. My grandparents (his parents) live there.. and my grandpa had to get surgery.. so he went for that.On his way home he decided to pay us a visit (since it was sort of , kind of on the way home, hehe).He couldnt resist seeing the Burgers and Caleb.Although Caleb didnt hug him nearly as much as Taite (Taites a big cuddler).. he did tell Papa he wanted to go with him (I think to see Nana).And in the end he did manage to get a good hug from Caleb :-)We rented the movie The Bourne Ultimatum. Im normally not into action movies... but I enjoyed the other two Bourne movies.. and figured this one would be good as well.And..It was :-)Great movie. But dont bother watching it unless you've seen the Bourne Identity and Supremacy. My 1st Wedding Shoot.. or not?

*This is a pick heavy post!!!*So this week I was planning on doing my very 1st wedding. My friend Kenneth asked me to do the photography for the wedding so he could take care of the video. Last night though he talks to the couple and apparently they hired another photographer because they thought Kenneth may be out of town. See Kenneth with his job travels a lot.. and sometimes is gone every weekend for months! so... I guess they wanted to go ahead and hire a guy to make sure they did in fact have a photographer. Understandable I suppose ;-) Better to have one hired than have a friend not show up who said they'd do it. So I dont blame them. BUT... this did put me on the back burner.Because they had this new dude to do all the photos I basically just sat in the back trying to get a good shot :-) They said it be fine for me to take a few photos in order to help build my portfolio.. so I am thankful they allowed me to do that. I was a little bummed though that I wasnt able to get more...

Ahhh.. relax time. Calebs at pre-school :-) Taites napping. Bathrooms are clean, dishes washed, clothes washing and quiet...I was on attachedtobaby.com after writing up a review for them on simple.. and realized I was featured on their website a lot! One of the photos is actually on the main page under Mei Tai.. Im showcasing the Babyhawk right on the home page. I thought it was pretty neat :-) since I think secretly in my own world I would love to have done a tiny bit of modeling on the side... had I been 5 foot 9. HAH!After seeing this though I decided to trace my steps and see how many sites I was on.. or my kids were on. I was amazed to find quiet a few.One of them was on My Rockstar Baby. The ladies who run this business are super sweet and I look forward to doing some photography for them in the future.Both my boys are featured on the home page...Now I am off to do PILATES. Sleepy? Originally uploaded by finadrea Why is it that our kids wake up EXTRA early when Daddy isnt around. Travis most mornings can stay around until the kids wake up. This way I get a few extra minutes of sleep. SUCH A BLESSING. This morning though he had to leave early.. and of course the SECOND I hear him shut the door leaving Caleb comes CRYING out his bedroom because a stupid train was stuck to his blankie!Im amazed his screaming didnt wake Taite.I gave him a few minutes to CALM down. He didnt. I told him if he didnt stop screaming Id lock him in his room. He kept acting out so I put him back in his bed.15 min. later I hear these BABY like noises. I thought it was Taite. I get up. NOPE! CALEB! In his room with the light on sitting on his bed acting like a baby. I was floored. Im sorry but this behavior isnt going to be tolerated. I know he is doing it out of some sort of need for attention? although I dont understand why because we give him so much attention... none the less ...

Ive mentioned Kenneth on my blog before ;-) hes the guy who had me help him with a photo shoot for ACRE magazine... which went great BTW :-)Kenneth does a lot of photography and video for ESPN.. I know hes pretty impressive I must say. This weekend Kenneth has to do a wedding for a friend of his. He wants to do the video though so he is having me do the photography. YIPPIE. Im a tad nervous about it... since it is my 1st "wedding" and I dont really know the people.. but Im pretty confident it will go just fine. I got a lot of fun ideas and Im excited to finally be able to add "wedding photos" to my portfolio! Then others might not be so timid to ask me to do wedding photos for them.So thank you Kenneth! Also another thank you for the new flash gadget he gave me.Always fun to have extras for your camera. I took a few photos with it for fun. The photo of Caleb was taken of him on the toilet :-) and he was just in awe of this flash! he almost looks scared... but more like a blank stare...

Tonight before putting Caleb to bed I was talking to my friend Lis on the phone. Caleb wanted to talk to her.. so I handed him the phone... and he ended up talking to her daughter Providence.While on the phone his facial expressions are HILARIOUS!He cracks me up.I couldnt hear Providence but at one point in the conversation he said ..."I dont understand what you're saying..."and he told Lis "He was far away." and that "they were far away."after his convo with Lis and Providence he asked to call PAW PAW (my dad).We call him and my Gramma (calebs great grandmother) picks up! I forgot my dad went to go visit her this week... and she was talking to Caleb really loud.. and Caleb at 1st thought she was his NANA.. and kept saying ..."I cant talk to you.. you're to funny."She'd talk really loud and it crack him up.. and he kept trying not to laugh.Then we called his REAL Nana and he said to her .."Nana.. you were being funny?":-)Toddler s can say the funniest things.

My dad sent me this video today..About people retiring in Panama City, Panama.Thats where my mom grew up.Most of her family still lives there.She lived in Panama City until marrying my dad at age 22? umm.. maybe 24 HAHA. I forget!Then she moved all the way to NC to raise us.She made a lot of sacrifices!Her brother is a really successful millionaire in Panama. Ive only seen him a handful of times in my life though... thats the hard part about living so far from family.. Its so hard to see them w/ the cost of gas and such. Last time I saw him he had ZERO children. Now he has 3 .. and I believe I was 8 :-I was able to see my Abuela though and Aunt a few more times... they came to my wedding and my Abuela came to see Caleb when he was born. She has yet to meet Burger :-(Maybe we can go visit this year!

Does Caleb look calm to you in this photo? or like hes up to something?DONT LET HIS ADORABLE LIL FACE FOOL YOU!CALEB IS SO LOUD. HAHALately we've been kind of slack with Calebs special diet... and his sugar intake hasnt been monitored closely at all... and I have also gotten slack at watching things like High Fructose Corn Syrup, etc... and making sure his foods dont have this in it.. as well as Artificial flavors and colors...You know how it goes... you get busy.. and you slack up.Calebs diet isnt a must. He wont have an allergic reaction to a food.. or have any BAD side affects from most normal foods... but we can tell a HUGE difference with Calebs behavior when he is on this diet...Travis said to me the other day "He needs to go back on it."Because he has just been WILD. Its almost like he is so full of energy he cant help himself... he just gets so excited.. and when we correct him he almost looks taken back and confused because I dont think he means to be so loud...Or maybe I ...

Oddball babeOriginally uploaded by finadrea This photo speaks volumes of how Burger spends his days :-)Notice the 1 zebra sock...the baggy undies (their Calebs... we havent purchased any his size yet HAHA)...and... of course..my cell phone.Have I mentioned he found my old cell phone (that I loved and wanted to keep as a back up) and he threw it into a toilet...He seems to be good at finding things he shouldn't have... like remotes... and placing them into rooms you'd never look.Also notice no pants. Spring 4ward - ok w/ me!

Morning Glow Originally uploaded by finadrea The last time we rolled the clocks BACK resulted in our boys waking up at 6:30am... 7am-ish. Before that time change Taite some mornings would sleep until 8:30, even 9am! So to go from that to 6:30am was just annoying. :-)Last night through we go to to spring forward and I was so happy about it. Yes I lost an hour of sleep... but in the long run I feel like im gaining many hours more :-)The boys woke up 5 minutes before 8am this morning. I will take that over 6:30am any day. Heres hoping it stays that way until we fall back again.I will say the one downfall to this (that Ive had already) are Taites morning naps. He normally naps from like 8:30am-10:30am... and this works out perfectly for church. Im able to get him up and myself (w/ Caleb) to worship with plenty of time to spare... This morning though Taite JUST NOW fell asleep (actually nope.. just heard him... hes not asleep)... and its 10:25am. I have to go get dressed after typing th...

Just a few snap shots from today..Caleb was playing UNDER his bunks... Taite was playing ON the bunks.The photo of Taite he is practicing his sign language :-) while running around with no pants on (not shown OBVIOUSLY). That just goes to show how well the training is going, WOO!!!!!!!!Travis is out w/ the boys... they went to the park.. but I just called him and asked how it was going. He said it was to windy.. so they went to grab a snack some place.Im glad to have a break from the kiddos. As much as I love them I think ever mom needs a few minutes of silence... especially on days their unusual tired. :-)What did everyone think of LOST this week?Im really confused...I went to abc.com the other night though to see about watching it online.. and realized you can watch the two precious seasons of LOST in HD online! Two Babies Originally uploaded by finadrea Caleb recently picked up some baby lingo... and behavior from his wee Brother.I dont mind this so much in pretend play...but enough is enough.It hits a nerve or something. Maybe this is whats causing all that tension in my neck? :-)I realize though that he does it for attention... and maybe this means I need to work harder at praising him and helping him feel like a big man... so he acts like one more often.Their good kids! I want to enjoy every second and try to relax more! On another note..Taites potty training is going great!!Today he used a total of TWO diapers. TWO! thats it. He wore one during his morning nap and woke up wet (which is normal)... the rest of the day though he wore 1 diaper and each time I took him potty he was still dry (with cloth its really easy to tell if its dry or not). And get this..He took his 2nd nap.. and I thought forsure he'd wake up wet or with a poopie diaper..NOPE...HE WOKE UP DRY! :-D eeee!Then we went t...

Today I made a quick run to Food Lion for some milk. The Chiropractor we go to is located in the same strip as Food Lion.. So! I decided since I had a few extra minutes before picking Caleb up from pre-school to let the Dr. see what I use to hold Taite some days.He was at the front w/ the two nurses when I walked in and thought my sling was very cool :-) and APPROVED it. It is better to carry your child in a ring sling than just on the hip with no support. In my case I wont wear him long in a sling... but when I do have to hold him for a few minutes it would do nothing but help to use one.I snapped a photo when we got in today... It was pouring out.. I got SOAKED as well as the boys.Atleast we have a nice warm house to come home 2 :-)Off to cook lunch.

SO! Tonight I went to the park with the boys... ALONE. Travis was suppose to come with me but due to someone in the hospital he was unable to go.. understandable. Any how... I was hesitant to still go though... just because Im not suppose to lift the kids much... and I thought forsure since I was going w/out Travis with both boys that I would end up lifting Taite to much...But thankfully my friend Jennifer's daughter Jordan (whos 11) and son Josh were very excited to see 'da burgers!' and helped out so much. Jordan seriously needs to be hired to be my nanny on park trips. HAHA. Both of them were so good with him.. especially Jordan. It took Taite a little bit to get use to her.. I think he was scared she was going to take him (Taites going through those 1 year old seperation anxiety issues)... but once he figured out she wasnt leaving he was happy. :-)We had a good time though.My friend Kelly and her family came out as well... so Caleb got to play not only with Jennifers kids (wh...

You ever get the giggles?

Today I went to the Chiro... again.Before each adjustment they put you on this massage table where they relax your muscles. The 1st step they use these pads that sorta stimulate the muscles.. the best way to describe it is that it feels like a bunch of little needles hitting you.. and after the initial SHOCK of it... it actually feels good and relaxes you.So the nurse was putting these things on my neck... and when she started turning it up (they slowly increase the strength) my neck starts jumping!! it was the weirdest feeling.. I felt it and couldnt help but laugh when the nurse was like "WHOA! lets turn that down a bit." HAHAHA It was so funny. After she left and I was laying there ALONE (in a room with 3-5 other tables - each seperated by a wall) I just kept laughing! Im not sure if they heard me or not but I had a bad case of the giggles.I know Ive had those times when you think about something and cant help but laugh... and the more you think about it the more it tickles you....

Due to all the back issues... and bug I got... lets just say my laundry got a little behind...well... maybe a lot behind.I had 3 loads (4 if you count a load of cloth diapers)...I just threw it all on our little TV room floor... and had at it.Didnt take long since most of the laundry was either a towel or sheets.Thats always nice :-)The boys had fun playing in the pile though.I consider myself pretty neat... but today was def. not one of those days :-)Although I did get the entire house swept (w/ the rainbow), carpet cleaned... and MOPED all the hardwoods except Taites room.Owh and I got a nap in ;-)Thats all I have to say about that :-)

Ive come to the conclusion that1... I am prone to back/neck issues...2... I do to much resulting in injuries3... I sleep like a wild woman4... I need to birth smaller babies in the futureor5... The Lords trying to slow me down :-)Last night at 2am our scared 3 year old comes into our room because of a storm.He ended up sleeping (laying awake talking) in our bed for a good hour... during that hour I got up because my nose was stopped up.I go to check the weather online (since our TV was down) and while on the computer I turn to my left and instantly felt pain. Seriously it was SO painful.I think I do fairly well with pain.. I birthed two kids and had 5 IV's during my 1st birth experience with no tears... well maybe a few :-) but I really do think Im pretty good with pain...any how.What I felt last night was awful. I couldn't even move my head from side to side. To get into bed was nearly impossible. I actually had to have Travis help lay me down and position my head in the center o...
