It?s So Hard Sometimes.
2008-02-20 02:22:00 It’s taken just about everything in me not to launch my remote into our TV. I’ve been a Flyers fan ever since I can remember, and sometimes it’s just SO GODDAMN HARD. The first period just finished, and it was AWFUL. Turnovers, penalties, a short-handed goal scored on us, and Biron (our goalie) got whapped ... More About: Hard , Ice Hockey
Aches, Pains, And Everything In Between.
2008-02-19 21:34:00 The pain I had to deal with this past weekend is the worst I’ve had to deal with in quite some time. I was throwing down prescription pain-killers, over the counter meds, sleeping pills…anything I had in the medicine cabinet probably got tossed down my throat. Luckily, none of the stuff that I ... 2008-02-19 18:43:00 My parents took an impromptu trip to Florida last week. Friends of theirs are “borrowing” another friend’s house, and they invited my parents to come down and join them. 2008-02-19 16:37:00 Today’s one of those days that I can see turning into a hell day. 2008-02-14 17:49:00 A very Happy Valentine’s Day to you all. Even if you hate the holiday and everything it stands for, since it’s nothing more than a commercialized holiday that’s meant to make single people feel like shit. 2008-02-14 16:04:00 Shopping and the internet. Two things that I adore more than anything. And when I can combine them, it’s even better. 2008-02-14 05:34:00 Let’s see. What can I say? Oh, right. Hubby is about to kill our youngest cat. She went into his INSIDE coat pocket, pulled out his headphones, and ate the wires. My Eyes Are Quitting On Me.
2008-02-08 05:45:00 It was a rather interesting 8 ball match tonight. We were shooting away tonight, and I lost track of time as my eyes started bleeding from doing our taxes. We walked into the bar at 7:30, which is when the matches start. My captain about had a heart attack when we walked in, as I’m NEVER late. I got tossed up against a 4 right off the bat. I beat him 2-0. Or rather, he beat himself. First rack, he scratched on his last ball to give me ball in hand on the 8, and he gave up the rack before I could shoot. The second rack, he put the 8 in early on his second time at the table. My match was over in SEVEN MINUTES. We lost the next match, won the third, and then we put up our 3 in the fourth. They threw up a 6 and it was only then that we found out the other team was forfeiting the last match. (Forfeit. I hate that word. No matter which way you look at it, it ALWAYS looks like it’s spelled wrong!) Well, our 3 ended up winning, so with the last match bein... More About: Eyes , Quitting

2008-02-08 05:36:00 The boyfriend of one of my good friends used to race RC cars when we were in high school. We used to go and watch him race, and it was always a lot of fun. My Dad and I got into it at one point, although we never really had a car good enough to run in any of the local races. Even now, he and I get out our cars and take ‘em for a spin. Heck, last year, my Mom got my Dad and my husband RC trucks for Christmas, and this year, she got my Dad and I RC Flyers zambonis! RC cars make the BEST cat toys! Are you looking to get into RC cars? There’s a great site run by RC cars champion Igor Presnukhin, and it has a great Introduction to RC Cars for Beginners. I Can’t Brain Today, I Have The Dumb.
2008-02-08 01:06:00 Shit. So much for us being able to pay off the medical bills. There’s not going to be much of an income tax refund this year AT ALL. Jesus H. Christ on a cracker with olives. I REALLY screwed up my estimations this year. I’m pulling deductions out of my ass (no, I’m not pulling anything shady!) to try and get some money back. I’m digging up all of the receipts that I can find to try and get us at least a teeny bit of money back. We’re going to owe state taxes to Maryland after all is said and done. And boy, does that chap my ass. Copyright © 2008 The Den of Iniquity. This Feed is for personal non-commercial use only. Which Chocolate Is Best?
2008-02-07 22:59:00 When I was younger, I used to spend a lot of time at the Granite Run Mall in Media, PA. My friends and I used to hang out there all of the time, even though it was a bit of a drive from where we lived. We didn’t care…the two malls that were near us were utter crap. One store I always used to buy stuff from was Fannie May Candies. They were right inside one of the main entrances of the mall. They make some of the best candies…I used to get a half-pound of their milk chocolate-covered raspberry jellies, and my best friend would always get whatever dark chocolate candy they had available. Kind of like my husband, who seems to think dark chocolate is the best tasting chocolate. Yuck! I love Fannie May’s candy, and now I want some truffles. Copyright © 2008 The Den of Iniquity. Ready For A Change.
2008-02-07 22:48:00 I’ve been sitting here staring at my monitor so intently that I think my eyelids are stuck. Learning a new layout program on the fly can be very interesting, but when the program doesn’t do things that you’re used to doing…well, you end up going at little bonkers, and you get the wide-eyed, glassy stare going on. I’ve ALMOST got final approval on the job that I’ve been busting my ass on for the last couple of days.. I think that once I get the go-ahead, I’m going to slowly start transitioning my work over to the new program. SLOWLY, mind you. Too fast and my brain might start leaking out my ears. There’s only so much my little brain can learn at one time. ~*~*~*~*~*~ I’ve decided to hold off on paying all of the medical bills until we get our income tax refund back. Even with me having to pay taxes on my freelancing income, we’re still going to get a little bit of change back, and it should be more than enough ... Sometimes, You Can’t Tell.
2008-02-07 19:36:00 Damn. Talk about getting the wind knocked out of your sails. I just found out that one of the girls I went to high school with…someone I was very close to back then…is in one of those new suboxone treatment programs for painkiller detox. She had broken her knee a few years back, and I knew she was taking a lot of painkillers back then, but I didn’t know she was STILL taking them. She’s doing this at home with a new treatment, and her parents are helping her out with it. Both of them are retired and can keep a close eye on her as she goes through the treatment. She’s doing a newer detox program called suboxone detox. Suboxone (buprenorphine) is a new drug that helps people get off of opiates without a lot of the painful withdrawal symptoms. It’s also used at methadone detox centers to help people get off of methadone. Yikes. I told my friend that if she needs anything, she knows that I’m here for her. That’s all I can do&hell...
What Do You Mean It’s Not Friday?
2008-02-07 17:15:00 The Good Coworker is not here and it’s got me all sorts of screwed up. She hasn’t worked at all this week, and I keep thinking today is Friday because she’s not here. Not good for my morale, you know? So much for me taking the day off today. It’s not like I have all that much to do, but my morning is already stacked with things I need to finish up. The boss has to head down to Pasadena later to make a delivery, so at least he’ll be gone for quite some time, because Pasadena’s a bit of a haul from where we are. When he gets back he might let me take the rest of the day off. MAYBE. It would be nice. 9 ball last night was a bit of a trial. I played the first match against a 4…I’m back to a 3 again, since I got my ass kicked by a 2 19-1 last week…and I beat him 15-5. After that, though, it was all downhill for me. I left as the third match was starting because I was suddenly feeling like shit. I got home and almost pas...
One Of These Days, He Might Do Something…
2008-02-06 21:37:00 Out of the blue, hubby wants to consolidate all of his bills. I’d love to know what first got him started in on this, though. Could it be that he saw what the interest rate is on one of his credit cards? Unfortunately, it seems that his credit hasn’t gotten better enough to get a normal debt consolidation loan. All of the places he’s talked to have told him that the only way he’s going to get any sort of loan is if he goes for one of those bad credit loans. Of course, the interest rate for those loans is almost as high as the one credit card he’s been complaining about!! It’s a no-win situation once your credit goes bad, unless you buckle down and WORK to clean it up, like I’ve been doing. Hubby, on the other hand, is just content to let me take care of everything. I can’t do it all…especially when it comes to attempting to clean up his past debts. No one will talk to me…those pesky privacy issues have my hands tie... More About: Days
So Not My Day. Can I Go Home Now?
2008-02-06 17:43:00 I am about to cry. In all honesty, though, I’m about to grab my shit and walk out of my office for the day and just say to hell with my day. The job I was bashing my head into the wall about yesterday? I finished it up this morning. It doesn’t look bad at all. I struggled and struggled with it and taught myself a new program on the fly as I went along. I got it done, PDF’d it, and sent it over to the client. “This proof is very similar to our existing cash receipt. I made some significant changes to that form and gave you (he thought the boss had emailed him the proof…the boss is also a friend of his) a copy of those changes. Sorry, I guess it was confusing. Please do a proof based on that copy.” I saw that in my inbox and almost burst into tears right on the spot. The boss had NEVER showed me a marked up copy. I was just told to typeset the form AS IS. The changes that need to be made? MAJOR. Good thing the boss was very apologeti... More About: Home
Let Me Tell You Something.
2008-02-06 04:54:00 How about a few somethings? I’m bored. I have an infection in my lower left jaw and it’s driving me nuts. I finally got the issue fixed with PayPal and them not issuing me a new debit card. PayPal has SERIOUSLY pissed me off, but at least I’m getting my new debit card. Flyers played a herky-jerky kind of game tonight against Atlanta. Niitymaki is now 8-0 against the Thrashers. Favored bad boy Steve Downie scored the game-winning goal in the third period to give the Flyers SOLE POSSESSION OF FIRST PLACE in the Atlantic Division for the time being. VERY PROUD of the boys. A NUMBER ONE RANKED POWER PLAY?! Unheard of in Flyerdom. Hubby’s starting to pick up some overtime again. The medical bills that are rolling in are a bit overwhelming. I told him that the next time he gets a kidney stone I’m going to rip his kidney out with my bare hands. He didn’t quite like that idea. Weighty Issues.
2008-02-05 05:21:00 Tonight was one of those nights where all thoughts about our diets and eating healthy just went right out the window. If it was smothered in cheese or it had something to be dipped in, we were eating it. Steak, crispy fried green beans, mashed potatoes with cheese…we were eating it. And it was all good. Of course, hubby and I are somewhat trying to watch what we eat. We’ve also vowed to start exercising, and we’re planning on buying either an elliptical or a treadmill one of these days. Yes, I WILL use it. I swear. I found this site called Weight Loss HQ that has all kinds of good tips and reviews for those who are fighting the battle of the bulge. From P90X Reviews to articles on how to burn calories quickly, Weight Loss HQ has some really good tips and tools to help you in your war against fat. Dinner And A Comedy Show.
2008-02-05 02:42:00 It’s not often that the husband and I actually leave the apartment to go out to dinner. Those times are rare occasions, and tonight was one such night where I felt the urge to actually GO to a restaurant. Hubby and I decided on TGI Friday’s, even though I was craving a hunk of meat from Outback. We should’ve gone to Outback. Hubby and I are sitting there waiting for our appetizers. I was on the phone with my Mom…yeah, I know. Shush. All of a sudden, a look of pained horror crossed hubby’s face and he mumbled, “Oh, shit.” His brother, his wife, and his daughter suddenly appeared by our table. Lovely. These are people we avoid like the black plague. Not so much his brother, but his wife is a real piece of work. A pair of tits and no brain between the ears, and unfortunately, his daughter is turning into her mother. 2008-02-04 21:04:00 I’ve worked hard in an attempt to restore my credit rating. One thing that could knock it hard on its butt would be someone stealing my identity. That’s a very real fear now…somebody stealing my information and doing major damage to my credit. I’m sure you’ve all seen those commercials on TV for lifelock, the company that guarantees that if you sign up with them and your identity still gets stolen, they will pay up to one million dollars to make sure you get your good name and your good credit restored back to the way it was before the identity theft happened. Every three months, they request all three of the credit bureaus put a fraud alert on your account, which makes it pretty darn hard for someone to open up a credit account in your name. They also make requests to get your name off of junk mail lists and pre-approved credit card offer lists.
