Not Every Drunk Driving Victim Dies

I saw her awhile back on a talk show. They initially showed the pictures of how she looked and when they showed how she looks now I was shocked. I'm happy I came across this now because with all of the drinking people do on Superbowl Sunday, unwise choices made me made to drink and drive. The next time you drink, before you start, be smart about how much you're going to drink and how you're going to get home. Think about other people that are also driving on the road. Killing or injuring yourself or someone else isn't worth those extra drinks.

What I don't understand is why the paparazzi insists on trying to grab a photograph of Michelle Williams and Matilda. This woman is now forced to deal with telling the little girl why her daddy isn't coming home. On top of that she has to deal with her own grief, losing someone that she loved and who is the father of her child. I cannot fathom why people would be so heartless as to chase after someone who is in so much pain. Just because she isn't the one who died, doesn't mean that a part of her didn't. Pain and grief shouldn't be made a spectacle out of, nor should it be a target to earn thousands of dollars. Before these paparazzi fight to get a picture, I hope they consider how they would feel if they were in her position or if they were the ones who died and their loved ones were suddenly made a target.

Green Tea and I

One of my New Years "promises" was to cut way down on my addiction to iced tea. It used to be so bad a few years ago that I wouldn't drink anything during the day but that. Well as of a week ago, I was down to about 3 to 4 glasses a day. Still not good. So, after hearing over and over again about the benefits of Green Tea I decided to give it a shot- and I hated it. Ugh, too grassy tasting. I'm not giving up that easy. I bought myself some raspberry green tea, added a bit of honey and let me tell you it's pretty good. So now, I've cut out two glasses of iced tea and replaced it with the raspberry green tea. I don't even miss those two extra glasses that I cut out. Since I very rarely drink coffee and soda, I'm still keeping my two glasses of caffeine per day.

For everyone that goes to McDonalds or any other fast food chain in NY and tries to deny how many calories really are in those large fries, we can deny no more. The New York City Board Of Health has voted to require all city chain restaurants to post calorie data on their menus. That's right, as you're staring at the menu trying to decide whether to order the double or triple cheeseburger, the calorie numbers will be staring you right back in the face. Restaurant chains already must make the information public, but how many people actually look at it. Why? Because it's where no one cares enough to look (i.e. on the internet). Who's really going to say "Hey hun keep my fries warm, I'm going to go online and see how many calories are in there."The new requirements go into effect on March 31st. You still have time to get in a few more denial trips before then.

At his own memorial service, an 81 year old man woke up in his own coffin. The man’s family members had originally found him cold and limp so they called the funeral home (not a doctor) and set up the memorial service.Now I really think I would scream then pass out if I saw someone wake up in their coffin.

I’m on the train over the weekend and I heard the oddest term. A woman in her twenties said “No Amy’s not anorexic, she’s semirexic.â€� I’m thinking “What in the world is semirexic?â€� I couldn’t help but overhear the conversation considering the two women were sitting in front of me and talking loud enough for the entire car to hear. Apparently the woman described her friend as not being anorexic because she eats, but she only eats once a day and its usually a small meal, some grilled chicken and vegetables, basically enough food to fit in the palm of your hand. Now the term “semirexicâ€� isn’t an actual medical term, however I found it interesting. I never thought about it the way that the woman put it. That there wasn’t just black and white, anorexic and not anorexic, that there were grey areas in between.Can you be considered somewhat anorexic if you barely eat? Heath Ledger was found dead in a Manhattan residence in a possible drug related death. The housekeeper found him when she went to go inform him that his masseuse had arrived for his appointment. The news is reporting that sleeping pills were found around his body, but of course we have to wait for the actual reports to be confirmed. He was only 28 years old.I was completely shocked when I heard this. I absolutely cannot believe it.

Apparently women in Saudia Arabia have had it. In protest, some women have driven cars anyway despite threats. They government plans to issue a decree by the end of the year that lifts the ban on women drivers. However, Saudia Arabia still has other limits on women. For example, women cannot hail a taxi and when they shop they must do so behind curtains.This was a quote issued:"There has been a decision to move on this by the Royal Court because it is recognised that if girls have been in schools since the 1960s, they have a capability to function behind the wheel when they grow up," a government official told The Daily Telegraph. "We will make an announcement soon."

Fed Cuts Key Interest Rate

The decision was made during an emergency video conference last night to cut the interest rate by three quarters of a percentage point. The DOW as of now has dropped 350.19. It's the largest rate cut in 18 years. The Fed stated in a press release that it has made the move in response to information that showed unemployment was on the rise, that a downturn in the US housing market was growing worse and that the economy was weakening.

Huang Chuncai, a 32 year old man from Hunan, China will undergo surgery to have facial tumors removed. The first operation was done last year, where he had a portion of the tumors removed. The tumors originally weighed 50.7 lbs. The tumors currently weigh about 22 lbs. The second operation will remove another part of the tumors, which weighs 9.9 lbs.I cannot even imagine the amount of strength that this man has to go through life the way he does. Can you imagine carrying around 50 pounds on your face day after day, all day long? Then having to go through numerous surgeries to have it all removed? This man is absolutely incredible.

Apparently Eli Manning has his fiancee sit in the stands during games because the few times she has sat in the (heated) suite, the Giants lost. So in the playoff game at Lambeau Field, where the temperature was listed as being -4 degrees, she sat freezing in the stands.
