Christmas Time Is Here!
2007-12-06 20:40:00
Hey Everyone,Are you all getting ready for Christmas ? We are! We have decorated inside and out! When growing up, my mother started a Christmas tradition in our home of collecting new pieces to add to her porcelain Christmas village display. Each year, us kids would buy something to add to it. So when Kristin and I were married, we decided to carry on the tradition in our home. Each Christmas for the past four years, we have done just that. We currently have almost a dozen buildings including a Golf Shop, an inn, a grist mill and a dairy barn. We also have a gazebo, a fishing pond and numerous little figures, such as, a chimney sweep, a fisherman, a doctor and children on sleds. I will post pics of the village in a day or so. Anyway, I just wanted to give a little update since I haven't posted in a while. Hope you all have a Merry Christmas!

Hello Everyone! It is National Ice Cream Sandwich Day! So you better go grab one, or two, or three...Today is also the day when the very first income tax was enacted by Congress back in 1861. So I guess you could say that August 2nd is a little bitter/sweet as for as celebrations go. Oh well, go grab an ice cream sandwich and forget about taxes until April.

As the man is going out the door, he had a heart attack and died. The doctor looks at the man and tells the nurse, “help me turn him around to it looks like he was just coming in.”

Monday Night Camp
2007-06-26 18:22:00
What a great time we had last night! The youth choir did an absolutely fabulous job. The evening speaker, Rev. Raney preached on the subject, "Putting a Halt to Hypocrisy." His text was from 1 Peter 2:1-3. Some of his points were:Four Steps to Hypocrisy DisappointmentDistance from GodDisillusionmentDistractionHe sited the life of the disciple Judas as an example of hypocrisy and were it will lead. It was a great message that really touched lives.I can't wait to see what God is going to do tonight! I will try to get pictures tonight.

Quality Healthcare...Maybe Not
2007-06-19 19:39:00
A man visiting a doctor says; "Doctor I just dropped in to tell you how much I benefited from your treatment."The doctor replied; "but you are not one of my patients."The man said, "I know. But my uncle Bill was, and I am his heir."I know, I know...I can hear the collective groan.Thankfully, the doctor we had last night seemed to know his stuff. Kristin is feeling better today, but is having to rest and "drink lots of water." We'll keep you updated. Thanks for your prayers. And for those of you who are as curious as I was about Costochondritis, here is a little info that I gleaned from a medical encyclopedia on medicineonline.com:Costochondritis is also considered as a possible diagnosis for adults who have chest pain. Chest pain in adults is considered a potentially serious sign of a heart problem by most doctors until proven otherwise. Chest pain in adults usually leads to a battery of tests to rule out heart disease. If those tests are normal, and your physical exam is consistent...

Hospital Visit Update
2007-06-19 06:41:00
So here's the diagnosis...the doc said that the cause of the chest pains is costal chondritis or costochondritis, also called Tietze's syndrome, which is inflammation of the cartilage of the ribcage. She also has a slightly enlarged heart. They discharged her after a barrage of needles, blood work and x-rays. She has to take an anti-inflamatory drug for a while, the name of which slips my mind at this hour...it has been a long day. Thank God it was not a much more serious condition. I'll keep you posted...but for now...I'm going to bed.Jonathan
