Long Time Coming

We are finally all insured. It wasn’t cheap, but it needed to be done. It’s kind of a nice feeling to know that if something were to happen, that we’ll be covered. We now have medical and life insurance. At least, I think we do. It turned out that after almost 10 years of marriage, Keith didn’t exactly know my full name, so we have to get that changed and then we should be set. No more searching for term life insurance quotes for me.

I’ve been doing good lately. I’ve been in a really good mood lately, life’s been going well, but it seemed to end yesterday. I’m not sure what caused it, I think it was a mixture of things. I was so ready for winter to be over, but now I’m beginning to dread summer. I can take the heat better than I can the cold, but let’s face it, it gets too hot down here. I wish it could be fall all year long, but I can’t have it all. I don’t even want to think about putting on a bathing suit. I need to drag out the old treadmill and stay on it for a few weeks non-stop. Maybe then, I’d be a little more prepared for the itty bitty fashions. I miss the days of being able to do nothing and still have a slender body. Getting older sucks in ways.

I got the glasses a few months ago, I think, and I think I’m already needing new ones. I can tell that I’m not seeing nearly as well as I should, but I’m putting off going and getting new ones because they’re so expensive. I should start buying cheap eyeglasses and saving me a bit of money. I wish I had several pairs, so that I could change up my look a bit. I get tired of looking the same way every single day.

Can you tell that I’m behind on things around here? Well, yeah, I am. I really haven’t spent much time around a computer lately. I spend most of my days sitting outside with my boys. I could take the laptop out, but the battery dies so quickly in it, and I probably wouldn’t pay much attention to it anyways. We should have power ran out on the porch pretty soon, so then I’ll take it out and plug it up. I don’t really plan to be online very much, it’s an addiction that I must break, well, I pretty much already have.

Kel has became obsessed with tractors. He will be sound asleep, wake up and whisper the word “tractor…” and drift back off to sleep. I bought him several toys that are tractors or dump trucks, or something of that nature, and now it’s not good enough. He wants a real tractor. Now, I may not be the smartest person in the world, but I’m not about to go and spend all that money for a tractor that he can’t even drive. It’s amazing how big kids see themselves.

I guess I am going to have to break down and buy a new chair. This one is starting to fall apart. It had a little snag on the arm, and Kel decided to play with it and has now torn it badly. I’m not sure how the snag got there, probably from someone climbing in and out of it without sliding it back… Whatever, I’m not taking the blame for it. Anyways, I’m wanting one of those really nice leather office chairs. They look so comfy and I’m all about comfort. I loved the one I had when I worked, the only problem was that I always fell asleep in it in the afternoons, but that would be ok because I am my boss now.

Ok, you can either watch the video to find out why buy.com rocks or you can read on, my guess is that you’ll watch the video and laugh at me. Be nice, you wouldn’t believe how many times I tried to make it, only to have the sound all screwed up. Anyways, on to the rest of the story. I really do love shopping online, and Buy.com makes it so easy. You can find lots of my favorite things there like computers, cameras, and jewelry. The prices are really great and they have a price comparison engine where you can compare their prices with other sellers. You have no idea of how much I really like the customer reviews. It’s seriously what sold me on the camera I bought. Being able to see someone that owns in, holding it and telling you all about it really helped, and it was needed because I was really worried about spending that kind of money and possibly not liking it. I’m sitting outside on my NEW back porch and am loving it… We’ve had a lot of wind lately and it makes me feel like I’m at the ocean, which is one place I love to be. The frogs are going crazy and it reminds me of my childhood, which took place across the road, believe it or not… Yeah, I didn’t go far when I got married. Anyways, I’m enjoying this and wish you could be here enjoying it with me.

My sister came down yesterday afternoon to let me know that her divorce was finally finished. I don’t think she’s very happy about it, but it really is the best thing for her. He was never good to her, and was even worse to her girls. I couldn’t put up with someone mistreating my kids. I really feel bad for him. He’s had a drug problem for as long as I’ve known him, and that’s quite a few years, and he doesn’t want help. He doesn’t understand that if he doesn’t get into some type of addiction treatment program, and stick to it, that he’s never going to get better. I don’t see him living much longer if he doesn’t, and that’s going to be really sad.

Since we’ve been spending so much time outdoors lately, the boys have been spending some much needed time playing out there as well. Did you know that a trampoline makes a great babysitter? Well, it does. We drug it around to the back side of the house where we’ve been working and gave the boys chalk. They will sit there for hours, drawing and playing and it has been a great help. Working while watching kids is almost impossible, but we managed.

I am definitely one to tell you to make sure you have health insurance, even though I am one that doesn’t have it. My Mama applied for some type of insurance for her and Daddy a few days ago and they were declined because of some stupid reason. It really sucks because I know how expensive their visits are and insurance would help out a great deal. I’ll be telling her about the medicare advantage so she can see if they qualify. They really need some kind of relief on medical bills.

I have absolutely nothing to do. It sucks when you find something to keep yourself busy and then it ends and you’re left with nothing to do. That’s where I’m at right now. We need more wood to finish the porch, so I can’t do that. I have Kel here, so I can’t go out to take pictures. My sister let him eat candy the entire time she had him today, so he’s pretty much bouncing off the walls. The time change has really messed him up. He’s staying up way too late and slept very late this morning. I’m not complaining about him sleeping later though. It was really nice to sleep until 9:30 this morning. I could get used to that.

Everyone that comes to my home knows that if you see something you want, I’ll give it to you. In my opinion, the emptier my house is, the better. It makes it a lot easier for Jesse to move around as well. When I find something that gets in his way, I tend to move it into the back room and once in a while, someone will go in there and drag a bunch of stuff home with them. My Mama went in there today and picked out a bunch of things that she wants me to give to my niece for her new home, which is a good thing. I was running out of places to store more junk. I’m currently trying to decide what I want to do with the den. I am really loving the new doors and the porch is awesome, so I want to keep the room fairly open so I can see everything outside. To do this, I need to get rid of more furniture. I’d like to move the tv and games into the living room and make it more of a family room. It would be cool to have some home theater chairs in here. Sorry, just got your comment as I started to write this and thought it would make a cute title…. Anyways, I’ve been slightly irritated lately. I’ve been without internet quite a bit lately, and when I do have it, my site is down. It’s really getting on my nerves. It’s bad to be addicted to things like this, I know, but dammit, I am and I can’t do a thing about it. I called to let them know that it was out and “Sam” had me sit on hold for a long time while he “ran tests” and came back to tell me that there was an outage in my area… I already knew that, they didn’t, that’s why I called them so that they would know and could fix it. “Sam” went on with his little foreign accent and asked me to speak slower and more clearly… That’s what pissed me off. I’m from the freaking South, I can’t talk much slower. Idiots… All idiots.  Ok, Angry , you can settle down now.

I thought I was tired before, but I was wrong. Now, I’m tired. Seriously. I’ve been putting every extra ounce of energy into trying to finish the porch and it has finally drained me. My everything aches. The porch looks really good, though. I just wish it was finished. We have 2 boards left on the floor, then we get to put the sides on. I’m sure that’ll be a blast. At least, when it’s finished, I’ll get back to spending more time online again. That’s not the only reason I’ve been away, but I’ll bitch about that another time.

I seriously have to go buy some new clothes. Since the start of these “home improvement” projects, I have ripped 2 pairs of jeans on nails. I ripped my favorite sweater this morning by getting it caught on a board. I have to get some new clothes or I’m going to have nothing left to wear. We’ve been very busy lately. We’ve put in patio doors in our den and are now building a porch out there as well. This is part of why I’ve been neglecting everyone lately. I’m tired, but I really want it completed. I’d love to finally get to sit out there and watch the sunsets. My Mama decided to call a “family work” day at my niece and her husband’s new home. The yard needs a lot of work, so who else should do it but us girls? I got up bright and early and went over there this morning only to have the storms arrive before lunch. The house needs a few things done, mostly small things like new bathroom fixtures. Everything was going good until it started flooding. I knew it was really bad outside, but I didn’t know how bad. Apparently, there was a tornado less than a mile away. Pretty scary, huh? I left shortly after lunch so I could get my kids home and the drive took forever. There were lots of trees down and emergency crews scattered all over the place. I knew I should have stayed in bed this morning. At least her yard looks halfway decent, even if I did almost get blown away!

I forgot I was doing this until I came back here to see what I had in drafts… Anyways, on with this thing already!  You would be forced to break up with someone who was emotional, moody, and difficult to please. If I’m not allowed to be like that, then my partner damn sure can’t. I can probably handle the emotional and moody part, but someone that is difficult to please has to go. I have to be one of the easiest people on Earth to please. It takes almost nothing to make me happy. You don’t even have to do anything to make me happy, I can do it for myself. Actually, I don’t think I even give people the chance to try to make me happy. I’m a little too independent, but, that’s me… Deal with it.
