Thankful

Sometimes we get so caught up with the problems in our lives that we can’t see the good. I always take Thanksgiving Day as a time to reflect instead of a day to pig out. Don’t get me wrong, the food’s nice, but I like to think more about all of the good things in my life. I am thankful for my kids, without them I would live a very boring and lonely life. I am absolutely grateful that Jesse hasn’t required any more surgeries in almost 4 years. Having to put your child through surgery after surgery is rough, so it has been really nice to be able to relax for the past 4 years. I am thankful for the friends that I have, a lot of you are what keeps me sane. I may not always say when I’m bothered or sad, but even without knowing, yall are always able to make me feel better. Lastly, I’m thankful for me being the person that I am. I am finally getting to the point where I can figure out who I am and what I want, and I’m not as afraid to just be me. ...

I really love games. I’m always playing something when I’m at the computer. I have been playing pool lately and it’s about to get the best of me. The Season For Caring

I love the holiday season. It makes me happy and makes me want to do more for others. It must do the same for Gallery Collection. They have did a great public service that I’d like you to know about. They have just announced their affiliation with Soldiers Angels and are providing aide and comfort to the men and women that serve to protect us. They have donated a greeting card to be sent to each soldier along with a blank one for the soldiers to send to their loved ones. I love having a fire during the winter. I normally keep one going about all season long, but since having Kel, I can’t now. He is too dangerous to build a fire around. So, I have an alternative. We actually had it going Sunday while we put our tree up and Jesse kept asking how to add more wood to it, so I told him to snap his fingers three times and say “more wood” and it would magically do it. Aches & Pains

We all know how life can wear us out, but some have it worse than us. Most of you know that my oldest son has spina bifida and is paralyzed from his waist down. He has to use his upper body to move himself around and it gets hard on him. We are working on helping him lose some weight, and so far it is going good. I know that the more he loses, the better it will be on him, not only for his health, but also for his joints. He gets so tired when having to pull himself around the floor when playing or trying to learn to get himself in and out of his wheelchair. It is hard to see him struggle, but I know that eventually he will get stronger and feel better about himself from him being more independent. I sometimes have to rub his arms with creams to help relieve his joint and muscle pain. He will literally cry at night from hurting so much. It is sad, but it is just a fact of his life. We could get around the pain by me doing everything for him, but that would just end up hurting him in...

I have taken so many pictures over the past couple of weeks, and some of them turned out pretty good, mainly the ones of my kids. I like to think that I am a very easy person to talk to. I’m very open and a great listener. Sometimes communication can be the hardest thing. I always do my best to listen and meet the needs of everyone. Today Kel was screaming “ice” at me, so I gave him a bowl of ice chips. He then throws the bowl in the floor and continues to scream “ice”. After cleaning up the ice, I decided to ask him to point to the “ice” that he was after… He wanted an apple. He knows that they are apples and can clearly say apple. Why must kids make things so difficult at times?

Traveling the world is one thing that I really want to do. I rarely get outside of the small town I grew up in and continue to live in, and I would really like to get to see other places. I really don’t have an excuse for not going places, it isn’t as expensive as I’ve always thought that it was. I want to get to see The Coliseum. I would imagine that staying at any of the Italy hotels would be great and romantic. Before I left the luxury of the Rome Hotels, I’d have to visit the Trevi Fountain and throw a coin in hoping to increase my chances of getting to go back one day. I would also like to see the Grand Canal while staying in one of the many Venice Hotels.  I love water and that looks like it would be beautiful to see in person. And what would be a trip to Europe without seeing a cathedral? I’d just have to check out the beautiful Milan Hotels and hop on over and see the Duomo. It’s one of the largest cathedrals in Europe. Shiny Balls

Yes, I know that’s an odd title, but it’ll look good when someone leaves a comment here and it shows up as “So & So on Shiny Balls ” in my sidebar. Cute huh? No? Ok. On with the post. I finally put my tree up today. Jesse was supposed to help me but he ended up relaxing on the couch and sipping on hot chocolate while I did all the work. It looks pretty good. I put it in the den this year and it makes it look small. I have all the gifts under it and it looks like nothing is there. It’s amazing how so much money makes such a small appearance. Oh well, they’ve got what they’re getting because the money is spent. I ended up getting Jesse a Wii… I hope he likes it, because that was a lot of money to spend on something and it end up in the cabinet with the rest of the video games that we’ve bought. Oh, who am I kidding?… I am a huge video games freak and I’ll be playing it if he doesn’t. Money well spent.

I am wanting to get more accessories for my new found love. I have actually started to understand the manual settings, but it’s going to take some help to get it perfected. I am going to have to get a tripod because I can’t hold steady. The battery only lasts for 2 hours, so I want an extra one. There are a few other things that I want to get, but I’m just going to start with the tripod and extra battery. There will be plenty of time for me to get everything else that I want…. And, trust me, I will get it all so that my family will have plenty to talk about later.

So, it wasn’t too bad yesterday, but I was so happy to get home. Sometimes being around family is stressful and it really shouldn’t be. I hate feeling like an outsider, but I am one. I was thinking today about how everyone in my family knows that I have a website, and yet not a single one of them has ever asked to see it. Maybe they read it. Who knows? It would just be nice if someone would show some interest in the things that I enjoy. I doubt that will ever happen. They think I’m stupid for liking technology and always wanting new electronics. I guess I should have stayed in the stone age with them… But, I’m glad I didn’t.

I get so confused sometimes when trying to figure out what to buy certain people. My sisters are generally easy to buy for, but it still gets hard at times. I would like for this year to be a fun Christmas. I would like to buy them things that they are not used to getting. Maybe it wouldn’t be funny to them, but I would love to see them open up some women’s lingerie in front of everyone. Maybe a little payback is in order for all they’ve put me through this year.

Since my parents have to work on Thanksgiving Day, we’re having ours tomorrow. I’m back on the outs with my family again, it’s really bad this time. No one’s speaking to me. Why? Because I spent $828 on a camera… Go figure. Anyways, I’m dreading this meal. I’ll sit all alone and listen to everyone else talking and laughing. I’ll watch them ignore me and play with my kids. I’m just glad that my kids don’t get excluded for being my kids. I am seriously having a hard time handling it this time. I feel like I’ll tell them off if someone even looks at me wrong. This meal is like an explosion waiting to happen, and chances are that it will happen. Keith has to work all day tomorrow, so I won’t have him with me to hang out with. I’m supposed to be there by 11… I wonder if I can show up at 11:45 and get out of there by 12:30… Wishful thinking.

I have tried to be lazy all day and it’s just not happening. This one wants this and that one wants that and I just want to lay around. I spent half the day on the phone working out appointments and such. Now Jesse is wanting to put up the Christmas tree. I normally have it up by now… Yes, I’m a freak like that. I have actually had it up before Halloween once. Get over it. Anyways, I’m trying my best to get out of doing it. (Not that “it”… I meant putting up the tree!) Putting up the tree is the equivalent of having sex when you don’t want to… I’ve even tried the “I’ve got a headache”… Jesse is so much like his Daddy, he isn’t falling for that line either. I really need more estrogen in this house… I’m being ruled by a bunch of males!

I was so glad to hear how everyone was going against Google yesterday. That really lifted my spirits. I hate to see companies that try to “take over the world”… Sorry Brain, but I always did like Pinky better. Narf! Anyways, I’m also glad to hear that our blogs will soon be rated by other factors and no longer by pagerank. This is like the best news ever. I’m completely excited, but nervous at the same time. I’m not sure how I rank in the new areas that I’ll be judged on, but I’m hopeful. It can’t get any worse that where I’m at right now.

I guess I am going to have to finally give in and get us new cell phones. I hate doing this because I have a hard time deciding on a phone. Another reason I hate getting new phones is the cost. I am fine with a basic phone, but not my husband. He has to have all the bells and whistles and that really adds up. Normally, the cost of the phone isn’t so bad, but the cost for the cell phone accessories is. The next time we get new phones, I will not purchase the accessories from them. My New Addiction

Sometimes I am an obsessive person. I find something I like and I obsess over it until I have mastered it. A week ago, I became obsessed with playing pool online. I play and play and just keep losing, but I can’t quit. So far my best record is like 6 losses in a row. Pretty good, huh? I’ve actually met a few new friends while playing that I really like. Last night I played a girl that actually liked playing the game and wasn’t just there trying to “hook up” with someone. That’s the only downside to playing games online, you have so many creeps to deal with. I’ve fixed that problem. As soon as they say “asl” I say, “28/f/ga/married/2kids/notlooking&r dquo;. Sometimes even that doesn’t stop them so I tell them that I’m actually a man looking for a boy toy. After saying that, they normally just quit the game, which is good because it’s counted like a win and improves my score….

I finally received the last of what I had ordered. I decided to go ahead and wrap it before the kids sneaked around and found it. I thought the guest/storage room was more organized than what it is. Apparently, I haven’t been in that room in quite a while. There are so many boxes and junk in there. I really need to work on it. I found everything except the gift tags. There are piles of old family insurance papers back there that need to be trashed. Most of them are over 8 years old and I don’t think I need to be keeping them now. I’ll get to it eventually… I have to, my Christmas tree and ornaments are behind this stuff.

My Mama has been calling me over to the plantation quite a bit within the past month. She comes up with all of these odd jobs that she doesn’t know how to do and just knows that I’ll be able to do them. My last one was to work on the computers down at the lodge. For some reason, they were hooked up so that everyone in the house had DSL, except the main person that needed it. He always has to connect using dial-up. I thought it would be a simple job, so I agreed. It was a nightmare. There were so many wires running here and there and I was so lost. I ended up taking everything apart and starting from scratch. I have no idea of how many Cat6 cables I pulled out of that room, but it was a lot. They only needed two, and I have no idea why they had so many. Anyways, I got it fixed and am supposed to be making $150 for doing the job. That’s pretty good for about 30 minutes worth of work.

I give up on Google Goober. They screw me over every time I turn around. I am officially banning them from my life, like they have pretty much banned me from the internet. Everyone that does sponsored posts should do the same. Goober has grown too big for its britches and someone needs to put them in their place. WE are what makes up the internet, not them. We are who purchase products and click on ads and we should stop it. I am closing everything I have with Goober… Email accounts… blogs… feeds… It’s all getting closed. Have you ever heard of Miley Cyrus? What about Hannah Montana, sometimes spelled Hanah Montana? Now you know who I am talking about. I watch her show every single day with my oldest son. He is completely in love with her, well, as much in love as an almost 8 year old can be. He laughs all through the shows and loves the songs. I would love to get the chance to take him to see her in concert. If we lived closer, I would get him a Houston Rodeo concert ticket for Hannah Montana. That would be like the ultimate gift for him, and would make a great trip for me. If you haven’t seen the show yet, you really should. It is actually very cute and entertaining and I have yet to see any of the adult content that is sneaking into so many children’s shows on it.
