Serbia winner of the Eurovision Song Contest

Serbia has been declared winner of the 52nd Eurovision Song Contest . It was the first time Serbia participated in Eurovision as an independent country and their winning entry, 'Molitva' performed by Marija Serifovic, gives Serbia the right to host the 53rd Eurovision Song Contest in 2008.This year's Eurovision was overshadowed by a distinct East/West divide as 'Eastern Europe' muscled together and block voted for each other. As a result of this voting, 'Western European' countries were prevented from succeeding in the Contest - all top ten countries who automatically qualified for next year's Final are from Eastern Europe. OK, it's that time of year again, less than a week before the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest, so I am legitimately allowed to be uber-gay and get over-excited like a small child at Christmas. Last year's Contest was won by the Finnish entry 'Hard Rock Hallelujah' performed by Lordi, giving Finland the right to host the Eurovision Song Contest this year in Helsinki - it was the first time in the contest's 52 year history that Finland had ever won Eurovision.This year, there are 42 (yes, forty two) participating countries, and having listened to the entries, I believe there are only a handful that will be vying for the top spot.
