Scooch have won the BBC's Making Your Mind Up final and will be representing the United Kingdom at the Euro vision Song Contest in Helsinki on 12 May.Their song, 'Flying the Flag', isn't the best in the world, however, Scooch pulled off a performance that is high-camp at its best - all singing all dancing trolley dolly froth. Dancing on Ice: Emily Symons finally goes

Last night, finally the judges on Dancing on Ice had the opportunity to vote off Emmerdale actress Emily Symons. Consistantly each week Emily's skating quality has been strongly criticised by the judging ice panel, however, each week the soap star's fan base (or dodgy ITV phone voting) has kept her in the competition and out of the skate-off. A place in the final was up for grabs and it would have been a travesty if Emily had made it through. Earlier this week, comedy actor John Inman died. He was most famous for his iconic role as Mr. Humphries, the camp menswear assistant in the UK 1970's sitcom 'Are You Bein g Serve d?', and gave birth to the catchphrase "I'm free".Although the writers of 'Are You Being Served?' proclaim that Mr. Humphries was not meant to be a gay character, it was Inman himself who injected camp innuendo into the role, minced across the shop floor and wore the 'flamboyant' clothes. Henceforth, to the viewing audience, Mr. Humphries was interpreted as gay.Some argue that Inman's gay stereotype was not a positive image to be portraying on television, however, at the time when gay characters on British television were few and far between, many gay men were grateful for a shining beacon to whom they could identify with in some form.John Inman had been suffering from a Hepititis A infection for a long time and passed away aged 71.
