Dreaming After a Drink

I live in Utah but I’m one of the liberals that live in Salt Lake City, instead of the conservatives that live in the more rural areas. And my parents are European, so I was raised on wine, beer, and alcohol. Do you dream after you drink? For me it depends on how many drinks I’ve had. The more I drink, the less I dream. And the worse my sleep is, in fact. And the close to bedtime I drink, too. I do enjoy a good drink, though, even though I don’t drink much. So I try not to drink before I sleep. At least not too close, unless it’s a holiday. And then on holidays I like to drink the good stuff. Like tequila from The Tequila Guy. I’m going to go read around, as he has good advice and information on good tequila, not just the run of the mill junky stuff you buy to get drunk. I do NOT like being drunk. Just tipsy. So I’m going to see what is going on about the tequila renaissance, want to join me?

Water

Had two dreams last night that I remember. The first one was before 4am.. because that’s when Tatum woke me up growling at Tony. I had to break them up and put Tatum in the crate. That girl has a head on her and wants to be boss. That’s okay, though, we work with it. Second dream was after that time, and was longer, and I remember more. First dream, the only thing I really remember about it is a statue. It reminded me of the Doctor Who episode with the Crying Angels, where they only moved when someone was not looking at them. The statue was frozen, but still alive in a creepy way. It was not a good dream. Second dream was longer. I don’t remember as much now. There was a party and it was by some sort of houseboat, but this water was inside some sort of building… like a loading dock. It was enclosed and underground somehow. The water came up a ramp like a driveway, and there was a boat that was mostly in the water, but beached so it wasn’t floating...

Teeth Dreams

Do you ever have dreams about your teeth, or someone else’s teeth, or just teeth? I have in the past. Weird.. but as you know from reading my dreams, they are always weird. I had a cap put on my tooth a couple of years ago. Actually, two caps. And I had a root canal just this year. The root canal wasn’t as bad as everyone had told me it was going to be, which was very good. The Dentist kept telling me how he loved doing root canals, LOL, which cracked me up. I had to get the root canal because I bit down on a pretzel… supposedly a soft pretzel, ya know. And it hurt! And it kept hurting until the root canal. Now it’s better. I have also chipped both my caps, which was not fun. Once I even almost lost a filling and had to get to the Dentist as soon as possible. Waking Up

Waking up in the mornings, especially early, is very hard for me. I’m not sure if I can describe this accurately, as the English language doesn’t really have the words I need. When I wake up it is like coming out of a very thick, heady fog. It’s almost like a different consciousness, or even reality. And I have to literally pull and drag myself out of it. It’s like I have to roll myself over in my head and body to get myself through it. If I sleep later, until about 8am or so, this doesn’t happen and I just wake up naturally. But when I wake up for work, which is usually 5am, I go through this every day. It’s no wonder I hate getting up in the mornings. Once I’ve pulled myself through this and wake up, I’m fine. But I have to consciously wrench myself out of the sleep state, roll through what I can only describe as some sort of thing viscous liquid type thing, and then into wakefulness. A Castle and a Woman

Okay, another weird dream. But that must be normal for me. Last night I dreamed that I was in a strange world… my memory begins when I am going back to my house, which might be a house from a prior dream, but it was in a world that had magic. Ah, if only I could go back to my world that has magic… I remember being in the house alone because everyone had gone to some celebration. And there was a big gang of people coming… I was walking away from the house down a path with trees and grass, and I think the road was paved. Two cars approached me and I got worried so I started running back to the house with my bionic legs (yeah Bionic Woman was on last night). And I reached the 6 foot fence and tried to get over, but they reached me before I could get over and pulled me off. I was so worried they were going to rape me or hurt me. So in my mind and with my magic I called out to Henry (from Eureka, yeah it was him, and yeah I’d just watched Eureka too…)...

Normal Dreams?

Are there such things as normal dreams? Do you consider yourself to have normal dreams? Because I swear, I would not consider any of my dreams normal. Maybe it’s because I still don’t feel very well. I dunno. Last night I dreamed about an old, old boyfriend. Now the dream fades… of course. I don’t think there were any living stuffed animals in this one though. Dangit! I just had the dream a couple minutes ago. It seems the best time for me to remember my dreams is when I lay down in bed to go to sleep at night. Then I remember the prior night’s dream. The drawback of this dream diary is that I remember my dreams more now, the ones I write down, anyway. And so I get my dreams confused with each other. Hrmph!

I am mostly a person based in science. However, I think there are things science doesn’t know about yet. Or there are things beyond science. I’m not sure what is the proper definition. Anyway, I went to a psychic once, and it was an interesting experience. I just found out about Tana Hoy, a Psychic Medium . He has a great website with a lot of information about him. Stuffed Animals

I just vaguely remember this dream… and it wasn’t last night, it was the night before. But I didn’t remember any of it until I was in bed going to sleep last night. It was about stuffed animals… and we had to keep them out of the sun. Because if they were touched by the sun they would lose their sentience and their life, and they would become just regular stuffed animals that were not really alive. We kept them in the shadows, the shade. And there were people chasing us… some of the poor things did get stuck in the sun, and we hoped the effects were reversible, but we were not sure. Weird!

Bikes Anyone?

I do wish I could do more Lucid Dreaming. I can when I’m half awake, but when I’m full out asleep at night I am not able to. My dreams get away from me and take over and I am not able to direct where they go. Because if I could do more Lucid Dreaming, I would dream about being on the beach and riding cruiser bikes! I love the beach and the water. Unfortunately we don’t have any nice beaches around here in Utah. Well, some reservoirs, but not any nice lakes or oceans. These bikes are wonderful, and they are only $88.00. That is very affordable. They are well built and can be used for years. I would love to go biking with the dogs, but I don’t know of anyplace here to go. Maybe Tatum can be a biker… that would be nice. She is a friendly dog, unlike my other dogs who don’t like other dogs very much sometimes. So whether you live by a beach or not, go check out the beach cruisers. Spreadsheets

I spent all night last night, that I remember anyway, staring at a spreadsheet. Well, really the layout of an Access Database. That is what I’m working on at work, and I change code to reload the database, and then I look at the Access display to see what my work produced. It was not good, not bad, it just was. But I really didn’t like staring at a spreadsheet all night. I do that during the day!

Hard Dreams mean Aches

When I have bad dreams, I don’t usually sleep very good. And when I don’t sleep very good I swear it kinks my neck and makes me ache. And when I’m stressed I pop my knuckles more, which causes my hands to hurt. And I find I could really use some topical pain relief. I found Freeze It, which is great stuff and really helps the pain in my hands and feet and even neck. I made this little video to show you FreezeIt. It’s a gell, and it absorbs so nicely and it is not greasy, and it has a great smell, too. Not overpowering.

A House and an Empress

Another odd dream again last night. Not sure what the deal is. I dreamed that my Husband and I had to move. I have had moving dreams like this before. We moved into this house way out on the west side, it was huge and had a long and narrow yard. Too may hills for agility, I remember thinking. My Dad visited and he wanted to secure the fence because the bottom seemed like the dogs could dig under, especially Tatum (funny she is in a dream already). So we were looking through the house that we had bought and the south side was a normal house, but large. Big rooms, nice kitchen. As we were moving through the house we found that the north end was nicer. It had 4 kitchens and the bathroom was all granite. The TV rooms were also amazing. And it was on a circle. Like the house I lived in out in West Jordan years ago. Eventually we were told that only half of the house was ours, but the papers we had signed said it was all ours. Dreaming of Fall Vacations

I love going on vacations in the fall. My husband and I went to Maine for our honeymoon in October about 4 years ago, it was wonderful. We stayed in a B&B but I would love to check out vacation rentals instead next time. To have a little place all of our own like a home away from home. I wonder if any of them take dogs. I know I just got back from dog camp, but the cooler weather makes me day dream of going again on a vacation and relaxing. There’s something about the fall that causes me to slow down and relax. The cooler weather gives me more patience. And I love going for slow walks in the evenings. Ahh…

Dreams Not So Good

My dreams the last couple of nights have not been very good. Last night was about dog camp. I went, but my friend didn’t go with that year, and so I felt lost and I didn’t know what to do (which is silly, because I can do stuff on my own, too). So there were lots of people and there were cabins with bunks. And I had too many dogs with me. About 5 collies or so and it was hard for me to arrange them all (ugh). Then we went on one of the outings and it was on a boat that went on the lake. I camp at Lake Tahoe but this lake was different. It had sharks in it, and they had you watch videos of the sharks so that you knew how they behaved and to avoid them. They said a shark can eat you in three gulps, whole, and you sit in their stomach and it takes you 12 minutes to be digested and die. That was unpleasant. So this boat trip was scary. There was lots of wind and rain, and I wanted to go home early but I was afraid of driving in the weather. So I took this boat trip ins...

Brains

This was not a good dream, either, though I don’t remember much of it anymore. There was a guy who was experimenting on people and he would cut their heads open, in half, and examine their brains. There was no pain involved but it was creepy. Then he would do some more stuff and turn them into walking dead people. Not really zombies, and he wouldn’t really kill them, he would just transform them. And then I remember being in an open top Jeep with Tom and Diane from the 4400. We had a baby with us (not sure whose it was, Diane’s maybe) and there was another baby that we stole because it held clues to the cure for this thing that the evil experimenter guy was doing. It was not a good dream. I dislike bad dreams. It left me with a bad feeling in the morning.

Sleepin? Last Night

I went to bed around 10pm last night, and slept pretty well until about 4am. My stomach got upset then and I couldn’t get back to sleep. I had Hudson (smooth collie boy) on one side of me, and Levi (my own collie) on my other side. I don’t remember dreaming last night. I do wonder if when I don’t feel well, I don’t dream well, either. Seems to be a pattern. This dream diary is fun. I can really keep track of and look at commonalities in my dreams. I even want to blog every day, whether I dream or not, and see what influences my dreaming.

Ever dream about trading stocks? I actually haven’t, at least not in my sleeping dreams… that I can remember, anyway. But I have toyed with the idea in daydreams. But I’m too nervous that I would lose a lot of money, and I don’t even know where to start. Well maybe I should take the rookie challenge. Smart Conference

I remembered another dream! Maybe it’s just starting to come back. This was kinda like last nights dream, it started out the same like I was in a hotel, and even at a conference. But it resembled the TV show Eureka and my ex was not there. It was a conference of very highly intelligent people. When we were leaving, there was a man who was mostly bald, who I just took too immediately. He didn’t want to go out with me, but I persisted and got him on a date, and finally he went and had a good time. He didn’t think he had the time for a date. He thought he was too far. His work was too busy… Actually, that is really like Episode 23 of Eureka I just watched last night.

Traveling with the Ex

Had an odd dream last night. Again I think it was somewhat from dog camp. I dreamed that I was on a really fun trip, but it was sorta a hotel, and I was with my ex. He was fun to be with and we had a great time. Met some other people who wanted to fool around (yeah sexually) and it sounded like fun. The dream didn’t really go there, though. I swear it lasted all night. The part I remember most is the end and packing. We had four dogs with us (go figure) and three of them got onto the plane with the rest of the relatives. Kinda seemed similar to the last dream I blogged about. Anyway, my ex wanted to talk to one of the big wigs. At one point he wanted a new outfit, rap type, with baggy pants, but he came back without the outfit. Finally Had a Dream

I think I haven’t been remembering my dreams lately because I’m not feeling too well. This dream is from the night before last, I told it to my husband to help me remember. I dreamed that I was in Idaho for a dog trial on a weekend, Saturday and Sunday. I was staying with some of my Mom’s friends who were German, and they were very close to Germany and so we would go on day trips to Germany… LOL I didn’t know Idaho was close to Germany. At the end of the weekend I found out that the seminar I was planning on going to the following weekend was actually Tuesday and Wednesday during the week. I had to call my boss to tell her I wasn’t coming back like I’d been originally planning. So I stayed for the Seminar and then my girlfriend and I, after it was over, got on the train with our dogs to come home. Dreaming of Sales

Do you shop on black friday? Last year I actually did, first time ever. Bought myself a nice 42″ HDTV and I am watching it still, and plan on doing so for many years to come. I love it.. flat panel and all. The High Definition is amazing and I don’t like to watch the little TVs anymore. Sometimes I do fall asleep in front of it, and dream. Most times I just am amazed at the picture. There’s a website where you can find blackfriday deals. And you can even buy there, so you don’t have to stand in line like I did for my HDTV last year. They even offer bestbuy deals. I am a member of the Bestbuy points and so I buy there when I can, to get more points toward more purchases. Black Friday is the name for the day after Christmas. There are a lot of deals that day, it’s the busiest shopping day of the year. I do not like the crowds. I’d rather do it online. Saves time, and money, and you can get good stuff for Christmas too. Sleeping at Home

I am home from dog camp! And sleeping in my own bed is very nice, indeed. I did sleep well at camp, too, though. Last night was a bit tough with 4 new foster dogs. I’m not sure who whined, but a couple of them did. Hopefully tonight will be better. Last night I had a couple dreams, but the memory already fades. So let’s see… what did I dream about… ugh… crap, now I don’t remember, and I’ve had this thing up all day to see if it would come back to me!

Staying Over

Just had to post my dream from last night. I dreamed that a guy from work (not EVEN saying who lol) was staying over at our house on a blow up mattress. We have a blow up mattress for friends that are staying tonight before we go to dog camp tomorrow. But instead of staying in the basement, he put the mattress in our bedroom, katty corner, so it fit. Was odd. And then he got really ill. I tried to take care of him. He was sweaty and miserable. We tried to get help for him, too. The place kinda morphed into one of my old trial dreams. A barn? An outside twisty agility course? It was strange.

Going on Vacation

This is no dream! Though I’ve been dreaming about it for a year. My and my two boy dogs are going to dog camp, leaving on September 1, Saturday. We’ll be there for a week relaxing and having a good time. We will be doing a lot of fun dog things, and splashing around Lake Tahoe. So I won’t be posting while I’m gone. No Alarm System Please

I dreamed last night that I woke up and there were big vans and trucks in our driveway, and that people were drilling and putting up signs… and they were installing a security system in our house. But I didn’t want a security system… they had gotten the address wrong! But they were like a quarter of the way through. It was a weird dream, it was like I really had woken up, but then I woke up again. Odd.

Cottage Cheese in a Cup Holder

Weird dreams last night. When I woke up in the wee hours to go to the bathroom I told myself I had to remember at least one bit of one. And I did. For some reason I felt the desire to pour cottage cheese into my cup holder in my car. It seemed to make sense at the time, but then when I went to eat it, it had dog hair in it and was completely gross. I don’t like cottage cheese anyway (but I feed it to the dogs) so it was quite odd indeed! There were more dreams…. something about a color spectrum and collies fitting into categories of them.. but it’s not clear anymore.

Fading Again?

Okay.. maybe if I write about this one the memories will come back. I did dream last night… and I woke up remember it all, but then made breakfast for my husband, and got distracted… was it about dogs? No… was it about a man? Oh maybe… It could have been about dog shows, dog training.. I remember a building, and a restaurant? Gah, it’s not coming back to me now, darnit! I wish I could retain dreams longer during the day.

Singing with John Barrowman

I had a strange dream last night. I dreamed that I was peforming a song with John Barrowman. I have a fairly good voice, though sometimes it’s hard to me to get on key just right. I wish I had perfect pitch, or perfect harmony.. but I don’t. Though I am not awful to listen to when I get nervous I have a hard time. Anyway, I dreamed that I was on stage with John Barrowman and we were singing a duo. It was fun, but I was nervous, so didn’t get the key right. So when I listened to myself later John was disappointed, though he was trying to be nice. And I was totally embarrassed by my voice. I knew I could do better and I felt awful that I hadn’t. Weird… anyway, it’s nice to dream about John Barrowman!
