Quawah vs Stomach
2007-07-13 05:59:00 It has been quite a while I didn't get to see Melissa and Yuni, due to my major break away from school... Hence, we had dinner together at The Coffee Connoisseur, TCC though things were not getting too well this evening...Due to my irritated bowel recently, I couldn't have much choice for my food... Even I love raw salmon so much, I've to get it well done for my main course in order not to further irritated my stomach... However, a bad choice I had made... I ordered black coffee for my drink... Just 'cos I'm fascinated by "Quawah" and would love to try, I forgot that the acidity and caffeine of the coffee may cause my stomach to be more upset... Apparently, my bowel is really not doing well after the entire meal... and I've to get myself with some activated charcoal pills and Antacid when I reached home...Of all the sickness I've, usually I'm able to take care of myself... but when it comes to an upset stomach, I can't seems to calm it down... I realised that...Have been a long day for me today... For once in my LabLife, I worked in my current Lab for almost a day!!! At least it's something encouraging... perhaps it's not... 'Cos of my lack of sleep, it makes me an angry woman this morning... Felt rather upset when I couldn't operate on a Microscope I was supposed to use... With the messy and dirty Lab I'm facing, and some unplanned experiments, added on to my adrenaline rush pumping up to my guts, almost flare up into a fire... "Control," as I said... Getting a little excited on what are the upcoming seminars happening in Bioplis, I screened through my mailbox and look for subject of interest... So, I attended one on Monday morning, on isoform diversity of MITF (Microphathalmia-associated transcription factor) corresponding to functional diversity, relating to an organism's complexity... Molecular and Developmental Biology stuffs... And another on Tuesday (which is yesterday), a product seminar by Dharmacon... on miRNA and siRNA...Not denying on my level of comprehension, not every seminars I attended I can fully understand what's going on... Dinner at the Steakhouse
2007-07-08 17:59:00 As what's been planned, Ernest, James, Me, YL and her boyfriend gathered at the Outback Steakhouse for dinner this evening, together with advance celebration for James' birthday, which is 11 days earlier...Unfortunately for YL and myself, the Braised Sirloin Steak is sold out, hence I joined the rest for Outback Sirloin and Chicken on the Barbie for YL herself... With Spicy Chicken Bites and Blooming Onions, 11 ounce of steak is really very fulfilling... It's one of the most "protein-enriching" meal I ever had... Nonetheless, all of us finished up all the food we ordered, so no food wastage... Glad to say...Despite feeling so full, we were entitled a free dessert of our choice for more than $60 spent with any credit cards... And we had Cinnamon Oblivion, a registered trademark dessert by Outback... It doesn't really taste oblivion, but whippy and sweet...It's always so sweet of YL... Groceries Shopping Night
2007-07-07 17:59:00 There were a couple of days our TV at Home was down, totally not functional and ended up dead... Hence, my retired aunt headed down to an electronic trading store nearby last week, in hope to get a good deal by trading in our existing dead TV for another brand new set... In fact, she did... She chose a Plasma 32" Panasonic TV for the trade, paid about a thousand odd dollars and gotten $150 NTUC Fairprice Cash Vouchers for the deal...However, our new TV is not as good as our previous set, which served us for about 8 years... We're still customising to the muffled sound system and the rather pixelated image screen...With the $150 vouchers we've gotten, my aunt is so excited about it and kept asking me to accompany her to the supermarket to get some groceries... I'm pretty sure she's very much excited on using the vouchers rather than shopping for groceries for Home... I don't deny myself being extravagant at times, and when I shop, I spend a lot, and it's always by hundreds, in USD, not SDG, 'cos of my habitual liking to shop online... Apparently, brands that I fall for are mostly quite costly... Gap, Banana Republic, Esprit are among the most well-like ones... However, recently, I've been cutting down on my expenses and stop spending that much... Poor sleeping habits are hard to get rid; I've been sleeping later than usual...It looks like it's getting later each night recently, which I can sense how those lost hours have been affecting my daily life... I can't make decisions fast and decisively... I tend to make wrong choices... I do feel redundant and lost at certain period of times; a sign of depression... Well, I think I'm still in pretty much control of my emotions lately... However, I got to get myself to sleep early... A real good one, no necessary "coaxing" myself to sleep early to get a good night sleep, something I'm trying hard to work on this seriously, especially when I'm not truly happy with my current Job... 2007-06-29 17:59:00 I've finally opened up the Fruits & Passion Hand Soap and Cream package given by Ernest from his trip to Canada... As I'm thinking... Pistachio flavour??? How it'd actually smell like on my hands... Unique favour though... Honestly, I do dislike the smell after the very first trial, it's too nutty and it smells like Almond Coco Butter to me instead... However, after a few usage, it actually smell good!!! And the fragrance do stay for quite some time; really a Unique favour...There're actually more unique favours such as Coriander and Olive Tree, Ginger and Sicilian Lemon... They do carry Dog Care products as well as for the Kitchen and best of all - Gourmet... That's Food!!! And Fragrant Kitchen Spray for chefs!!! The online store is having Sale right now... Within this week, I've already received 3 informative smses from 3 different stores, where I'm a member of theirs... Shopping spree is really a temptation, I must say...Nonetheless, at a very last minute decision, I headed down to Vivo City... I excused myself as a form of therapeutic treatment after several sleeplessness night + the boredom I'm getting from my Laboratory... As it seems, before any of my "self extra-curriculum activities" class starts (as well as my new school term which starts at this September), I'm pretty FREE for time to spare for DVDs... Movies , Documentaries, Dramas and Sitcoms... On top of those C.S.I-LA perusal, of course...Movies I'm having right now - Chicken Little, American Beauty and The English Patient... I'm on their unlimited 3 disks plan, and thus far I guess I've watched coming to 20 movies during the trial period, it's like an average of 0.5 to 1 movie per day... This really shows I really have TIME to spare...My very last movie from a Theater was (I think) an Asian Movie "Happy Birthday" on my Birthday early this year... For the past weeks, I've been on Sick leave for coming to 4 days, once possess a husky sexy provocative voice, on voyage of recovery, and now suffering from a Relapse!!! Sure enough, in order to recover well, I'm being abstained from Real Food, Not Sex - no oil, no chilli, no chicken and duck... basically no poultry...Since my last Good Lunch at Nexus, I'm basically drinking H2O base stuffs and nothing else... Coughing involuntarily for the night previously gave me quite a nice well-toned abs... but with a price of aching muscles cramp... In refusal to see another doctor, which may end up with another bag of frustrations... I headed down to Waston's Pharmacy last night to get some Danzen, Strepsils Pain Relief Cough Lozenges and some dark chocolate... This is so Shit!!! 20 tablets of Danzen cost me $3.60, coming to 20cents/5mg... From Takeda, Japan stuffs... *Sniff sniff*... For further information, Danzen is good for lac...

2007-06-06 05:00:00 I really hate myself to fall sick... As the weather gets moody, I'm down with Upper Respiratory Tract Infection recently... And I was basically voiceless for the past 2 days, and I still sound damn horrible... I went to to see my company's panel doctor on Monday with a very husky voice, in hope I could get some lozenges and anti-inflammatory drugs to relief the symptoms... Oh that's very SICK of that doctor, he only issued me Ponstan for my headache, nothing for my throat and infections... Not just because I'm co-paying 5 bucks, my medication has to be compromised... This is outrage ridiculous!!! I demanded something for my throat and an extra day off... He prescribed me only 6 Dequalinium lozenges which is pathetically very little and don't works at all!!! Instead of feeling better after seeing a doctor, I headed home with a bag of frustrations...As I started coughing in the night, I took my Little's Sis's medication instead in order to rest more... And I specially took a day off to stay at home and in hope if I've some time to spare this afternoon, I'd like to get some personal maintenance stuffs at CK Tangs before heading down to Cat's Restaurant... Apparently, the weather was against me; IT Rained for hot 2-3 hours... SNIFF, Sniff, sniff...Ended up I only managed to go down to CK Tangs at about 5pm... Tangs was having Sales and it was pretty crowded... To avoid the crowd, I ended up walking to the far end of Tangs+Co. where there're lots of foreign imported Designers' brands like Paul & Joe, Rebecca Taylor, BCBG, and those brands that I never heard before... Designs, styles and sizes Tangs indented in are all very limited and proprietary... As Catherine was still dealing some stuffs at Woodlands and might not be back soon, I just have a quick browse of it and saw a very nice nylon silk wrap top...
