Housewifery, part 2
2008-06-06 23:22:00 El Boyfriend is gone, he left yesterday to spend two months in Texas going to school for his new job in the National Guard. This means just David and I are here with our dog for 17 days until we leave on our own trip. I’m trying to figure out our menu for those 17 days so that I empty out the referigerator/freezer into yummy foods that will actaully be eaten so that nothing spoils when we have our electricity temporarily shut off for the time we’ll be gone. Dinner tonight is leftover teriyaki pork tenderloin, cut up and mixed with a can of drained green beans and two packs of ramen noodles. Cheap, easy, quick, and tasty. I’ve got some frozen fruits thawing in the sink, and in an effort to do something a little more creative than a week’s worth of smoothies, I’ll attempt a nice, fruity pie. 2008-05-12 18:51:00 Yesterday was a nice day, except for that whole having to go to work thing. I woke up and breakfast had been cooked for me - blueberry pancakes and sliced ham, mmm. Later, at work, I was loading glasses into the dishwasher behind the bar and had a bouquet of flowers shoved under my nose, courtesy of my son. I pretty much never get flowers, so that was a really nice gesture. Plus? No one else at work got flowers delivered to them by their kids, so NYEH.  While they were there, El Boyfriend told me not to worry about dinner because he was cooking. I had to tease him about that because EB does not cook beyond putting a Healthy Choice meal or a pot pie in the microwave. “What are you cooking, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches?
