Involve us as we dream of living
2007-07-11 02:29:00 We must always remember that the future belongs to the youth of today, dreaming of living and not merely existing.Funny, I remember what one doctor said during a health seminar in a business my family is engage in. He said, people have to take time to expose their sex organs in the heat of the 7:00 – 8:00 sunlight. He didn’t mean in public. (No one would do so. Ha ha ha!). Folks can do this even in their rooms where sunlight strikes in. We were stunned and then laughed. But considering it, indeed its very important for our reproductive health. We are often advised to go walking, jogging or even just stand under the early morning sunlight because it is healthy. However, the whole body is not benefited since our reproductive organs are covered. Makes sense, isn’t it? This is why some people build their houses with attics roofed with glass for light to pass. The point is, there is the presence of reproductive health, especially for the youth. And we must deem this imp... More About: Living , Dream , Ving
When is it love?
2007-07-09 05:57:00 As what i promised danica, I posted this entry as endearment to her previous entry on love. Love is a very powerful human emotion that is hard to define. It can make a person undergo various emotions - happy, sad, elated, depressed, lonely, lively, frustrated, etc. depending on the situation and circumstance around a person.Find out and assess yourself if you have experienced how it is to love and to be loved. SIGNS OF LOVEAbiding sense of comradeship - there is a spirit of mutual thoughtfulness, an eagerness to understand each other. Sweethearts and pals. They enjoy being together. When they are absent from each other, each is in the background of the other's thoughts.Feeling that life has been lifted to a higher level - they inspire each other to new hopes, new virtues, honor and loyalty, all of these providing them stability.Putting sexual feelings in perspective - ordinarily, there is a stirring of sexual desires. This is not uncleanness. The reactions will be curbed, to...
We are never a BAD-NEWS country
2007-07-08 19:11:00 May 17, 3:30 PM (Nepali time), 5:30 here in the Philippines, the Filipino people was unified as Leo Oracion, Erwin Emata and Romy Garduce reached the highest pinnacle of the world plus few other Filipino climbers, men and women. August 12, 2006, Filipino singers fortified the Philippine's status in the international entertainment scene winning 86 medals , industry awards and a grand vocal champion award for the Cercado Sisters in the World Championship of Performing Arts held at Los Angeles, California. Tourist arrivals in the country continue to move from strength to strength. DOT records a total of 1, 420, 040 arrivals from January to June this year, a 10.4 percent increase from the same period last year. These inspired us being pure Filipinos. Of the myriad positive featured stories published and unpublished in the Philippine television and the mainstream press, the Mt. Everest Expedition, WCOPA and the increase in tourism industry are just a few, indeed. We still have o... More About: News , Country , Bad News
Rated PG and coffee-drinker blog
2007-07-08 12:13:00 The whole city was blacked out for more than 8 hours this day so I wasn't able to update my blog. But on the other side of the coin, I was thankful because I had time to clean up my mess! LOL In our mini-library, my table, my magazine collections and all stuffs made of paper.Obviously, i was devoured by blogging since I'm still having the rush to come up with a good traffic in line with my making-money plans.Unfortunately, having more than 20 to 30 page views per day doesn't seem to suffice my first requirement before profiting. But, the passion is still burning. I can if I think I can as what Norman Peale says.***Good thing electricity went back before 5pm and so things went back to normal. What's normal? Cope with Mom's requests and my grandmother's requests. Withdraw an amount from a teller machine, buy rice, buy batteries for a buzzer, grandma's meds and some bread for snacks.Bad thing is, we only have one teller in the area so i still lined up for about 20 minutes befo... Mag-kapi tayo sa Tindahan
2007-07-06 17:18:00 All the many fabulous tourist destinations and attractions in different places always begin from its people. Here in my home city, La Carlota in Central Negros, are exciting spring and nature resorts, pools, the exceptional Pasalamat festival and other well-appreciated civic programs. And yes, these features only start from the friendly La Carloteños. If you want to have a dose of friendship with the people of La Carlota, try to have a visit at the “kapihan community”. Actually, i just coined that name since it’s a place where there are series of coffee shops where people gather together to have coffee klatches. It's located inside the city market serving good tasting native coffee early in the morning until the afternoon. Besides, they also dish up halo-halo, batchoy and arroz caldo. They also dole out “puto”, bread and “bingka”. TALKS OVER COFFEESince it was my first time to have some coffee in that place, i needed to have some acquaintance until I dis...
My Short Essay about the Philippines - by Jaeyoun Kim
2007-07-06 12:28:00 This is my 25th post as a blogger. Instead of having of blogging about myself on how it feels, let me republish this essay written by one Korean student here in Philippines in 2003. This piece is an eye opener for Filipinos. The article sites reasons why it seems difficult for our country to rise from the mire of poverty and is now behind among the SouthEast Asian countries. Here it is.Filipinos always complain about the corruption in the Philippines. Do you really think the corruption is the problem of the Philippines? I do not think so. I strongly believe that the problem is the lack of love for the Philippines. Let me first talk about my country, Korea. It might help you understand my point. After the Korean War, South Korea was one of the poorest countries in the world. Koreans had to start from scratch because entire country was destroyed completely after the Korean War, and we had no natural resources.Koreans used to talk about the Philippines, for Filipinos were very rich ... Find out at Lakbayan!Created by Eugene Villar. For several times, i dreamed of conquering foreign soils and oceans across the planet. But i just realized i haven't even completed my tour in all beautiful places in my country. Makes sense, isn't it?***I was surprised when I checked my blog patrol visitors count reaching 170 page views this evening. My warmest thanks to those who visited particularly those who drop by here regularly and leaves a word. I also appreciate those who voted for me in talksmart's blog of the week. Mika Brzezinski, rip more
2007-07-05 10:05:00 Praising national and international broadcasters has been part of my watching-tv activity everyday. When i was watching tv-patrol world on their world reports segment yesterday evening, i was amazed with the bravery of Mika Brzezinski of MNSBC in their show "Morning Joe". Intrigued by the story, i checked it out in youtube.Look at what she did. This youtube video is collecting feedbacks from across the planet these days.To be clear with what she did and what her partners were thinking, here's the link.I was astonished when first saw the video but then i admired her. Mika was really firm on her conviction that Paris Hilton reports are not really reasonable for the lead most especially that it was a morning show. For me, what she did is just right. Reporting Paris Hilton as the lead is just "stupid". Well, yah, I know that Paris is such a famous, influential celebrity in the face of the globe in the present era and reporting stories about celebrities like Hilton's graceful exit f... 'Karapat dapat bang patawarin si Wendy?'
2007-07-04 07:20:00 While i was checking the rankings at pinoyblogosphere i checked on the blog of the top 1, MUKAMO, and read the latest post with an embeded video featuring the real reason why Wend y is being booed before the big night, at the big night and even after the big night.Check it out.Somehow, it gave me a good laugh though I wasn't that engrossed to watching the reality tv of ABS-CBN. I mean, I watched but not totally devoured by the whole stuff. I knew what was happening through stories and updates from tv, internet and from the bickers and guffaws of my pbb2 fanatic friends.I admit, through those reports and through scenes I saw, i also ridiculed Wendy. I posted negative things about her in friendster bulletins and even in my friendster blog.Later, I realized, it's not just right. I mean, i don't fully understand the situation yet. I don't know the side of the pbb2 production staff. I don't even know if the e-mail scam was an absolute fact or just some kind of gimmick to poison... More About: Bang , Kara

Mishmash romance
2007-07-02 05:20:00 Maka-ilang gabi na rin na hindi ako madaling makatulog. When I lay down at 11, i can't doze off until 1 or 2 in the morning. Ewan ko ba kung bakit tensyonado ako, dami kong iniisip. Napapabangon na lang ako gabi-gabi dahil sa ginugutom na ko. Ta's nanonood nalang ng tv o dvd o kaya magbasa para lang antukin.By the way, salamat sa lahat ng nag visit sa blog ko and i am really be thankful to those blogger friends who faithfully leave comments. I was nominated pala for the "Filipino Blog of Week 63" in talksmart's page. Perhaps, you could vote for me there though it's just for enjoyment. lolWell anyway when i was reading, I came across some funny statements in Joshua Harris' book 'Boy Meets Girl', a book on courtship. In one chapter, the author describes a so-called "mishmash" romance where couples are impatient to savor each "course of meal" - acquaintance, friendship, courtship, engagement and marriage. They want to do all things hastily.Try to imagine a soup, drink, sal... More About: Romance , Mash
Rasta Today
2007-07-01 10:35:00 I'm sure everybody already noticed the slowly growing phenomenon of the Rasta underground culture in almost everywhere in the country. The reggae music, the colors of the Ethiopian flag, the dreadlocks and the apparels with printed images of Bob Marley. In an article written by Von Fritz Evangelista, former ed-chief of the Riverside College (the official publication of the students of Riverside College, Bacolod City), a guy calls himself a Rasta with his dreadlocks and the ganja pendant in his necklace. He says he is discriminated being a Rasta sometimes since people think of him as weird, addict or lost. But he doesn't care and proudly says they are cool. Those words triggers the conclusion that today's generation define Rasta, as synonymous to being 'cool'."But is Rastafarianism a bandwagon or more of a religion?" Von asks. Let's spend some time to understand what Rastafarianism, as it is formally called, is all about. Tracing a bit of its history through Microsoft En... More About: Today

Why haven't i realized this earlier?
2007-06-28 09:06:00 Kumusta po kayo? Thanks po sa lahat na nag cmment sa mga nakaraang posts. Mas nararamdaman ko po na I am really blogging dahil sa interaction between you and sa mga posts ko and it really feels good. You know, i slept late last night or i mean, just this morning at 2:00am. I was bothered with random thoughts that kept on bungling my mind and just made me twist and turn my up, side and down on my bed. There was the PBB fever where Wendy Valdez seemed to have this aura that pushed me to publish 3 posts about her in my friendster blog in just 2 days. The childhood memories and adolescent embarassing moments also went back to my poor self-esteem ditch. Also my father, who's history already. But there was this thought that popped up in my shell that really dimmed my eyes with tears. For several times in my 20 years of living in this planet (il be 21 by October 1) i can still recall many unpleasant moments with my mom (well it's after the death of my pap). I mean, we had lots of ar... More About: Arli , Lier , Haven , Earl

Mejo mahaba po pero siguro its worth your time naman po. Nagsimula po ang estorya noong January 2007.Eto po yun. While some people enjoy the bounty and luxury of life, this family residing at Uriarte Subdivision in La Carlota City seems hopelessly deprived of the good things in life. This family is composed of an 80-year old lady, Fort unata Bayog and her grand-daughter Joanabel Bayog, 14 years old, mentally ill and extremely undernourished, who was abandoned by her mother when she was only one year old.The breadwinner is Fortunata's son, called "Baruk" (because his brother was a.k.a. "Tarzan"). He is in his mid-40s, unemployed and accepts part-time, menial jobs. The other children of Fortunata have gone to other places and might have their own family now.Close to her mother, Baruk, could not afford to leave Fortunata... More About: Care
Stupid day start
2007-06-26 02:22:00 I don't know.Yesterday was absolutely a fulfilled day. I accomplished things i needed to accomplish. I was able to send the letter to a national high school where we will have a research on adolescent reproductive health and i believe that they'll be positive about it. I was able to proofread and edit the summer publication of our school and hopefully be finalized today. I was able to went home safe and sound with a smiling welcome from my mom and a big laugh from my home buds.I just woke up this morning thinking i'm alright, that all is well, there's so much to laugh and smile of when i step out the walls of my room. I thought all will be just fine. But why did it came the other way around?I know, the difference between a bad and good day is the attitude but i just can't have control over my attitude right now. Pasalamat Festival '07: No less than spectacular
2007-06-24 12:31:00 The Pasalamat Festival ’07 is an event hard to erase in the minds of the Mangkasanons and to the thousands of visitors who trooped to the city of La Carlota in Negros Occidental to witness the mega celebration.Inday Kitchie Benedicto, a well-known and veteran tv producer in Metro Manila, and yes, she happens to be the doting mother-in-law of our mayor and now congressman Jeffrey Ferrer, made this hard-to-match festival a reality in the city.As usual, there was a galore of show biz luminaries who graced the occasion, especially the Pasalamat Beauty Search held at the public plaza. The pageant has no less than the hottest reel and real love team of Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo as emcees. Hard to believe, but they appeared lived on stage, a dream turned reality to many fans who only saw them in their tv screens. The crowd was in frenzy when drop dead handsome, Sam Milby, current heartthrob of countless women and he-women appeared on stage and serenaded the beauty contes... The unsung heroes of Election Day
2007-06-23 17:23:00 Observers say that the recent election in the country is one of the most controversial marred with massive cheating and scores of political killings. But if there are people who are exposed to so much risk and really sacrifice a lot in doing their back breaking assignments – they are the teachers. Every three years, the teachers are compelled to do their tasks as they troop to the precincts and assist millions of Filipinos in casting their vote. They make sure that the voting procedures are properly followed. Making it harder is when the night comes. They buckle up for the manual counting of the votes, a primitively tedious process that generally lasts long into the night. All throughout that long day and night, the teachers will have to contend with the many dangers of a Philippine election. Look at the death of teacher Nellie Banaag of the Pinagbayanan Elem. School in Taysan, Batangas. The potential of harassment, violence and even death is still very much part of... More About: Heroes , Election , The U , Unsung Heroes

My Mentor's nth Note

Yeah!I got this note when i arrived home yesterday from my Alma Mater. It's written on a piece of white thin notepad (as it has always been) and with a very familiar penmaship. It was from my mentor who has been there helping me out through the tough times most especially when i was still in college.Well, she's a retired Chief Parole and Probation Officer III at the RTC Branch 63 and since she's "retired but not yet tired," she applied at the city college as Guidance Coordinator for the meantime. Duirng her term (where i started receiving notes written in notepads from her), goodness, everything went smooth for the counselors and the peer facilitators. She... More About: Note
Getting Marveled by Marvel
2007-06-20 08:45:00 After the web-fever, darn the rise of the silver surfer! It's making me hooked back to superheroes. Well, I just watched it yesterday and now i'm browsing the web everything about the whole stuff. Struck by the movie? Obviously! It was awesome. Good thing i was refunded by a compromised payment for a project months past so it gave me enough to spend a little for the movie while waiting for the clock to tick 2:00 PM (I got a publication business.) The movie is a whole lot better than the former shortchanged part. I loved the twists and the new features, the events, the script. Package deal. I'm more engrossed to Jessica Alba this time especially when she uttered the "I'm getting hot for you" compliment for Reed. Man! She is darn beautiful and gorgeous. Reed's words are definitely true, "I am getting married to the hottest woman in the planet" when he was demanding due respect from the freaking unwise general. I was surprised with the human torch twist, imitating ... More About: Marvel
my Father's 6th Death Anniversary
2007-06-18 05:06:00 "I've had a hard life, but my hardships are nothing against the hardships that my father went through in order to get me to where I started and to where I stand right now." Yesterday, June 16, 2007. It was tatay's 6th death anniversary.Everything seemed normal. No retreats. No recollection of memories. No tears. But i know, every member of the family stole sometime to bring back tatay in their thoughts, reflect and gather strength once again from his teachings, rebukes, discipline, his down to earth lifestyle and his brave principles to help us continue muddling through life ahead.Recalling the time when i witnessed him suffering hard because of the excruciating pain he met upon stepping from a shriveled Santol tree branch and falling from about 25 - 30 feet high and slamming his body right sideway like bomb on our cemented pathwalk in front of the house and saw the people who held him up, i can't help but brim my eyes with tears. She said that i was really persistent that the girl with the smooth fair cheeks, with pretty lips and a cute nose and nice straight hair was my crush and that i really insisted much more when she was telling me i just like her. "Yes nay, i like her, that means, she's my crush. ok? peace!" lol Well, that girl i often call "'day" is artistic in nature, smart, can attract all honeybees with her sweetness and knows the best friendship strategies...well, except for one girl during elementary years. hehe i don't know what happened between them that time but i observed "'day" was really srewed with that white and tall lassie.
