Cadaver Calculator
2007-06-22 09:21:00 I've been getting pretty bored the past few days, and this has led me to spend extremely large amounts of time online, trying to find something to read (i use stumbleupon, anyone who faces a situation similar to mine, and wants something more interesting to read while they're online should check it out)I came across this weird test.. found it pretty funny.. maybe its because my brain is slowly dying due to lack of proper use, then again it might actually be funny too.Check it out (and tell me how much YOU are worth)$5000.00The Cadaver Calculator - Find out how much your body is worth
College... and holidays
2007-06-15 10:07:00 Waiting to find out where ur going to end up going to college can be extremely annoying...... and its a lot worse if most of the people you know of your age already have that informationI'm planning to do engineering... right here in Bangalore.. the parking lot cityThats not really something i planned, actually wanted to go somewhere else (anywhere decent)... but as my fate or stupidity (i use different words when my self esteem is at different points) would have it, i'm left with no real choice.Of the two exams that give you admission into most engineering colleges in our state, i did pretty well in one (called COMED), and sorta mediocre in the other (CET)... they had different methods of arriving at ranks, so its not a big dealI have some hangups about getting myself into college through underhand means, and since i dont really need to resort to that.... all my hopes lie on COMEDthe fact that i've got two entire weeks to wait has also lead me to a dilemma... exactly what my se... Depression
2007-06-10 06:52:00 Sometimes it just hits you that you're all alone.... its not like you're lost on an island or anything, but its a kind of mental gap between you, and the rest of the worldEven those you thought of as really close to you are shying away, or even pushing (or running) away.... normally its not such a bad thing... especially if you're someone who is quite used to being solitary.....a lone wolf so to speak, but when you're in a sullen, depressed state, it definitely doesn't help. There are times in life when you just want to be left alone...somehow it never really happens then... its when you start to feel isolated that it happens, and it can be quite a crushing blow.No poetic genius, or majestic artwork comes out of this feeling for most people.... it just lingers, and when u start coming to terms with the the feeling, and slowly get into the apathetic mold of occupying yourself with anything at hand... either someone decides to bring you back to what you were before, which feels g... does everything need a title?
2007-06-01 11:22:00 i've noticed that despite the fact that i always wanted to have a blog which cut down on mundane updates on what i've been doing, and had something that was at least slightly different to offer (be it opinions, excessive sarcasm etc), i'm finding it extremely hard to stick to that goal of minei never really thought i'd have much to post about, looks like i'm getting into the rut of typing up rubbish and hitting publish only because i dont have much else to doironic isnt it? a non-sensible post about how i find it hard to post anything sensiblefitting though... i think this state of mind has something to do with the helmet rules (not exactly new, but im still not used to it, they started enforcing it kinda recently)Traveling around on my two wheeler (i like to call it my bike, but sometimes i get rude interjections saying it isnt a bike coz it doesnt have any gears) with a helmet on in this heat probably does extremely bad things to your head.I mean, it cant really be good for t... book buying
2007-06-01 07:37:00 so a couple of days back i went book shopping, (something Aditi refers to as a raid...very apt in this case at least), and i came back with all of 25 booksso now, including the ones that i wanted to read and were lying around at home, ive got around 30 books sitting in my roomlots of the stuff i bought weren't on the list, but i think i've got enough to keep me occupied for quite a while... only books that i would still buy right now are the vonnegutThanks for the suggestions (ie thanks to the two people who gave them as of now) More About: Buying , Book
Books
2007-05-28 19:56:00 This might come as a major shock to those who don't really know me that well.. but i READno, i don't mean study, i actually read during my free time... no not asterix and mad magazine (although i read that too), normal booksUnlike many readers (yes its quite uncommon) in my peer group, i don't read much fantasy, don't ask why... i just don't, ive tried, and found it not to my likingOf late, i've developed an interest in modern "classics".... classic in quotes since not everyone considers them classics..... essentially late 19th and 20th century literature, which is considered by a reasonable number of people as being worth reading. I've made some inroads into this field, however, there are still a vast number of books that ive heard a lot about, but never really gotten down to reading. There are also many other books that have caught my attention over the past several months, and others that i want to read simply because everyone is talking about them.Since i have tons of fre... update on my rather mundane life
2007-05-28 10:14:00 As I mentioned earlier, MY holidays just started... well officially at leastReal studying for the first of my exams started around mid feb, and ever since then, its a seemingly never ending barrage of exams... ISC, and then entrance, after entrance... (6 to be sure).Work ended two weeks earlier than i had planned, which probably was the cause for my paltry performance in my last exam (BITS), something i had considered my top choice at firstResults too have started coming out, and thankfully, none of the ones that have come out so far have been far below my expectations.I have never set goals that were too high, always inviting lectures from people who think i have great potential, and i didnt work too much this time either, so i count myself sorta lucky to have still gotten through without suffering any major disappointment (except with Manipal, which was a college i really wanted to go to, but unfortunately, their entrance was a bit insane)I'm also faced with the familiar dilemma... introducing my blog...
More articles from this author:2007-05-28 10:01:00 despite several suggestions that i start one earlier, and even the prodding of a few people, i've been stubborn for a while about how i have nothing to post... however the start of my holidays has led me to look at it in a different way... blogging is something new i can do, during all the hours i spend onlineFor all the people who have been asking me about this, wayfaerer (from my url) is an old form of the word wayfarer, and it first caught my attention first because its an instrumental track by melodic death metal band In Flames. You can expect random posts on things that happen to catch my attention, some raving and ranting about things that irritate me, and perhaps some very opinionated posts about things that happen in the worldAny suggestions towards the improvement of my blog are welcome (but please keep in mind im no artist, and will take several months before i can figure out how to make a half decent header) More About: Blog , Intro 1, 2 |
