Shackles I tell you.. Shackles... Ok... I said in a previous post I would not complain regarding preparing for the bar. Well.... I must resort to venting -- just a little. At this point, I have reached the law of diminishing returns. The time spent preparing is not increasing my overall knowledge and in reality it is only producing very small returns. Secondly, I feel that this preparation is the equivalent of ankle shackles attached to my office chair. However, today is the last day of studying. Tomorrow will be a break. On Tuesday, I will role with the punches and it will all be over on Thursday. See ya'll out in town on Thursday evening. Bar Exam Prep

This is one side of my desk. I have been held up in my apartment preparing for the Texas Bar exam. Like many of use undertaking this "adventure", we all have our share of gripes. The exam will begin in less than five days. July 24 will be the first day and it will end on July 26th.I have done my share of complaining and I will not perpetuate those rants here. In the end, this is the path I have chosen. I will say this though. In the beginning it was about passing the bar. At this point, I look forward to getting on with a normal life. My desire to pass is not as strong as it was when I began. Don't get me wrong, I want to pass. However, I feel that whatever the outcome in November, the evening of Thursday July 26th will be one of the best days I have had in a long time.To you that read this, I want to thank all my friends and family. Ahhhh... The North Dallas Tollway. It is a convenience that one can not live without. We spend quite a bit of money travelling down this tollway on a daily basis. I believe a little over a $100 to $150 a month. We are not alone. A brief look at the financial statement of the Dallas North Tollway system will reveal that many other Dallas residents do the same. According to their financial statements -- which by the way a disclaimer on the report specifically warns from using the numbers for security purposes AND I am not a financial advisor so take these numbers at their face value -- the Dallas North Tollway systems received 198.1 million dollars in operating revenue in 2006. Their operating expenses before depreciation was 116.2 million dollars leaving income before depreciation at 81.9 million dollars. Based on my math, that means the Dallas Tollway Systems makes, on average, an approximate daily revenue stream of $592,739.72 change from Dallas residents. The Dallas North ...

A friend of ours works in law enforcement. He recently posted a link to this Drug Raid. I thought the raid was very interesting and a lot more realistic than that of COPS. (In that I mean the video does not appear to be edited for dramatic effect).On another note, look at the execution of that first search warrant. It saddens me to see children in put into that situation. A Dallas Officer was shot with his own taser by a woman. The catch -- the officer was in the woman's bathroom and the officer was on duty. This will be a short post. The Texas Bar exam is only 7 days away. As I am sure anyone who has been through this will tell you -- it is not a pleasant experience. I suppose the anxiety is primarily derived from the fact that you are going into the unknown. It is hard to know what to expect. A person might have a vast amount of knowledge but fail to look up that one question they ask.We have met some awesome people here. To Julie -- thank you for the encouragement and tips. Anthony -- thanks for going to dinner with us. It was great. Lee -- thank you for taking us to Dinner. Mark and John -- thank you for keeping in touch and your B-Day party was great. We look forward to going out after the bar.In any event, the exam will come and go and I can't wait for that day. Ok... As many of you know I am getting ready to take the Texas Bar Exam in about a week. Needless to say, I am a little tense. In any event, I have been working on exam problems for weeks. I came across one problem and answer that struck me as bizarre... (Mind you the result is based off of a PMBR question. It is not identical because it is being taking from the top of my head....)Basic Storyline:Martin goes over to Brad's house to watch the Superbowl. As they are watching the Superbowl, Brad gets up and leaves the room. When he returns he is extremely hyper for awhile and then becomes really mellow. Ok.. Since we have moved to Dallas.. (May 20th) it has rained every day except for 5 days... I am not kidding.. It is greener here than Northwest Arkansas in the Spring. I kid you not.
