2008-02-11 09:10:00 Current Mood: Happy I have often wondered what the consequences of illness, whether it be cancer, HIV or anything else would have on my relationship. I have read many blogs where one partner in the relationship has HIV and it’s always a positive response. However realistically I guess I don’t hear about the negative ones. Being in a relatively new relationship (although I guess in the gay world it’s not that new), I was more interested in how I was perceived. So I asked my partner how he thought I would react if he was diagnosed with a life threatening illness. His response was simply I know you would be there. Now I know it’s easy to think in hypothetical terms because it’s not something we have faced and hopefully we won’t have to. However I do wonder about peoples experiences with this situation. HB who is not the most romantic person in the world has truly been amazing and put me to shame in those stakes. Not only did he give me a great gift but has taken me out to dinner, been beautiful as usual and the night isn’t over yet. Thanks honey and I love you more than I can put into words.
