Woodstock's Five Black Bins.This urban project 'Five Black Bins' which was conceptualized and curated by non-traditional agency, Cow brought together five Cape Town design studios to redesign five garbage bins in Woodstock, Cape Town. On random basis, five addresses were selected in Woodstock. Bins were supposed to be used as canvas keeping in view the context of its surroundings by the designers. And once the designs were completed, vinyls were printed; the selected bins were taken, and the vinyls were applied and the transformed bins were returned to their place. World's Biggest Cork Mosaic .Saimir Strati an Albanian artist who created the world's largest toothpick mosaic has set another world record with a mosaic made of 229,764 corks. Working 14 hours every day over a period of 28 days, he glued 229,764 corks of various shapes and colors onto a plastic banner measuring 12.94 meters by 7.1 meters and created his art piece "Romeo with a crown of grapes playing the guitar while dancing with the sea and the sun". 'Venus " Natural Crystal Chair .Tokujin Yoshioka's 'Venus', chair made from natural crystal will be presented at 'Second Nature', an exhibition to take place in Tokyo from October 17th to January 18th, 2009. The exhibit will take place at '21_21 Design Sight' in Roppongi, Tokyo. The exhibits includes the works of other too: Noriko Ambe, Campana Brothers, Ross Lovegrove, Kaiji Moriyama, Makoto Azuma, Asuka Katagiri Yukio Nakagawa and Takeshi Kushida. The interesting part is that the exhibits which will be based on the theme 'Second Nature', which means that they aren't inspired by nature or intending to imitate it, but instead they create new natural forms. At the 'Second Nature' Tokujin Yoshioka would be installing four large water tanks, which will be holding a fiber immersed in them, and the visitors will be able to see the process of the structure growing. Designer Contact Lenses .We have seen many gadgets which comes with Swarovski crystals but never did we know that these can even make contact lenses 'Sparkle'. Designer Anthony Mallier from India created these lenses by embedding tiny Swarovski crystals in a circle around the circumference of the lenses.
