Singing Ringing Tree .The Singing Ringing Tree is part of the series of four sculptures, a unique and ambitious arts and regeneration project created by the East Lancashire Environmental Arts Network. Four of these iconic structures are now in place in Blackburn, Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale.The Singing Ringing Tree is designed by architects Mike Tonkin and Anna Liu. The 3 meter tall wind powered musical sculpture overlooking Burnley resembles a tree set and is constructed from pipes of galvanised steel, which harness the energy of the wind to produce a tune. The Little House - Toronto's Smallest House.It's quite easy to miss the house at 128 Day Ave. It has a living area of just 300 square feet which was never meant to be actually a home at all. It was built by Aurthur Weeden in 1912 on a narrow strip of land that the city forgot to turn into a proper driveway. During the street's development, Lot 128 was supposed to be the laneway for the neighboring home. But when Old City Hall didn't cut the curb to allow vehicular passage from the street, Arthur Weeden decided to build a home in the existing space. Over the years, several different families inhabited the house and there were quite a few renovations and improvements. In the recent times too this house was for sale; with just under 300 square feet on a lot 7.25 feet (2.2 meters) wide and 113.67 feet (34.6 meters) long and was sold for $135,000 during the month of April 2007. Curtain Wall House .Curtain Wall House by Japanese architect ShigeruBan is the house intended to be a reflection of the owner's lifestyle. It's located in a dense neighborhood of Itabashi-ku, Tokyo, and was completed in July 1995. The house is a combination of new and old with simplicity and use of the contemporary materials keeping in view the traditional Japanese styles. Terrace on the first floor divided the living area on the east and south sides, creating an outdoor space that acts as a filter between the interiors of the building and the street and tent-like curtains are on the outer facade between the second and third floors. In winter the outside glass doors and the curtains can be closed completely giving the house needed good insulation and privacy. 'SLEEPLESS is a collaboration between The Great Eastern Hotel and fourteen students from the Royal College of Art's acclaimed Design Products department led by Professor Ron Arad. Reactive installations and objects invite guests and visitors to take part in an experience and step into a hidden dimension where a hotel is more than just a place for the night. Part of the project is Bedtime Stories. This blanket, designed by Tiago da Fonseca, has several sheets containing a traditional bedtime story. Each "page" adds a layer of linen making you warmer (or cooler) and comfier hopefully guiding you and your partner into a pleasant night's sleep. The project is developed at a cost of over US$220 million dollars, built on an artificially constructed peninsula on the Panama Bay. The 70-storey project will be a 2.6 million-sq ft waterfront condominium tower development & offers accommodation in 509 condominiums, 126 bay lofts and 369 hotel condominium suites that ranges in area from 1,076 sq ft to 4,284 sq ft. In Taiwan, security for the building's occupants is generally provided by adding metal enclosure to every window. But here is where the ROEWUarchitecuture came up with an interesting concept: a variable screen of bamboos.
