Prevent Cell Phone Spam
2008-03-19 12:02:00
Register your phone with the National Do Not Call Registry to avoid receiving unwanted marketing calls. Have you ever been disrupted by an unwanted call from a telemarketer when you are watching your favorite TV show or late in the night when you are sleeping? If so, you?re not alone. To stop this your first step is to register your phone number with the FCC's Do-Not-Call Registry. When you've registered callers are only allowed to call you when they - have established a business relationship with you, - have you prior written permission, - do not call commercially or do not include unsolicited advertisements. read more

Reverse Cell Phone Directory
2008-03-14 11:52:00
You have a cell phone number and are looking for the name and address. A cell phone reverse reverse look-up directory will give you access to these data. If you have a phone number but don't know to whom this number belongs to or what address is related to you will need a Reverse Phone Lookup to find the required details. You'll find many places on the Internet where you will find residential, business phone and toll-free numbers lookups for free. But is a reverse cell phone lookup on the Internet also free? Cell phone numbers are only held by telecommunications companies and carriers and they don't give them away for free. It's similar with unlisted numbers and fax numbers. read more

A badly designed kitchen can affect your peace of mind and make any time spent in the kitchen an unpleasant experience. You could further enhance your kitchen by simply changing the colors on the wall; if this does not satisfy you then you can move on to making bigger changes. A kitchen must look beautiful and cook beautifully too; one without the other will not get you very far. read more

How To Refinish Your Bathtub
2007-08-07 21:35:00
Buthtub Refinishing is an efficient way to refurbish bathtubs. The technology behind the work is very similar to auto body shop technology. It includes the application of coating, normally an ep-acrylic material or an acrylic urethane. The product is applied using high volume, low pressure spray and most refinishers then go with a primer and a topcoat. Preparation work includes removing dirt the surface with industrial cleaners and removing caulk (around bathtubs). Additionally a bonding agent or an etch product is used on tubs to create better adhesion. read more

Sewer Drainage
2007-07-05 08:47:00
Well, it's been a long time since my last post. I've been very busy, that's for sure. I may have mentioned before that we kept having septic problems, I don't remember now. Anyhow, the main kitchen has a septic storage tank in the cafeteria under the floor. There is a pump that lifts black water from the tank and pushes it into the main septic tank in the courtyart. The problem is, they are both so full of liquid that if you run the kitchen pump for too long, black water starts to oose out the cracks in the cement in the courtyard. That is bad. read more
When the Main Water Line Breaks
2007-06-27 03:26:00
From the title, I'm sure you can guess what this blog is about. I had a very interesting weekend. We had a small crowd of volunteers this weekend to help fix some things up. On Sunday, we had some sewer problems in the chapel. This usually comes from a holding tank in the cafeteria being full. That's where the chapel bathroom drains to. We usually pump it out into the main holding tanks buried in the courtyard. Nothing unusual so far, but then we started to have some overflow out of a crack in the cement. This flooded a hallway with raw sewage. read more

Plumbing and Electrical Nightmare
2007-06-20 17:19:00
You're not going to believe this. I think I've heard of something like this happening, but I've never experienced it, until now. I woke up this morning and took a shower about a quarter 'til 7. I noticed the water wasn't very hot, and it seemed to run out kinda fast. Usually, I'm the only one using water at this time and I can take a long HOT shower without problem. Didn't think much of it. I figured maybe somebody beat me to it and used up a lot of hot water. read more

Things are going great here in Chapultapec, Mexico. As most of you probably know, I've moved here for about a year to work on an orphanage that is in great need of repair. This building was started some 16 years ago and the place was never finished. The owner died and so there was no one to do the work. My family has moved down here to get things fixed up so that they can house more children and poor families. There are several apartment style rooms in this building. Most of these have only drywall hung. There is also a lot of water damage due to a leaky roof. read more

Drywalling Tips
2007-02-08 08:58:00
There's a couple of things about drywalling, and I wanna make one thing very clear. I get a lot of questions and I see a lot of mistakes about this. Number one, when you finish drywall, when you mud it, you're gonna need to put three coats of mud on that drywall. Don't think that you can go through there and just put one thick coat, it's not gonna work. Drywall mud shrinks when it drys and when that happens, you might get little cracks and especially if you do a really thick coat like that. read more

Garbage Disposal Maintenance
2007-01-23 09:01:00
This week I've got a little bit of helpful information on your garbage disposal. This is another one of those things where a lot of times people will make a call to a plumber, and that's usually a call that does not need to be made and you're going to spend a lot of money that you can probably just keep in your pocket. So let's get right to it. read more
