Woman Abuse in Mauritius
2007-09-26 14:51:00 The form of abuse that I witness everyday is the abuse against women. No, these women are not physically or sexually abused (that is, not yet) but they sure are abused in a way that I guess not even them are aware of. I don't know how to name that form of abuse but I sure can describe it to you with some examples of incidents I've witnessed. There is a girl who was a friend of mine, let's name her X and there was a guy who is well, an acquaintance, let's name him Y.X used to be a very social, outgoing and fun-loving girl. There was no problem about that. She had friends and her friends were like her. That's until she met Y. At first the guy was OK with the way she is.I met X last year after some years of not meeting and it was weird the extent to which she had changed. She was a completely different person. And then I got to know through some friends that X's boyfriend has imposed many things upon her. Namely, not hanging out in places like the cafeteria (yeah the university c... Lazy sunday
2007-09-23 15:37:00 Today while giving tuitions, the girls asked me to give my opinion on fashion. It was like "miss, what do you think of new fashions?". And I asked them why they wanted to know my opinion (I was scared they'd say they wanted to know how old people saw the whole thing) but they just said that it'll be interesting to know. Interesting to know... Hmmm, I don't really think it'd be. I've never really been a fashion adept in the right sense of the word. I've adopted the modern punk style for many years of my life and recently I'm really normal, wearing sunny colors and all.But I've decided to do something today! I've made tresses on my hair!yaayy! But I don't know how long I'll be keeping them and whether I'll be going to class tomorrow with that! Let's see if I'm daring enough! This was fun to do. I'll be doing some more on my hair soon enough! Take care people. And oh by the way, I've realised that I'm so totally in love with summer wild flowers growing everywhere on my s... 2007-09-23 09:30:00 I sense that this is going to be an awfully long post. First of all, I gotta reply to some tags. First one, it's from Cameron and it's the 7 P's meme. My Pierced Story
2007-09-21 19:12:00 I was sitting down and thinking about my life. Some people find it weird when I talk about my life because well, they think that 20 years isn't a life?! Oops, I've said my age out loud on the net. You can even check the date and when in 10 years I'll say that I'm 21 you could prove that I'm a bloody liar! You see, that's an example that shows that blogging can be dangerous to ones reputation.Anyway I was thinking about my life, particularly of the time when I was still at school; my piercing sprees, converse shoes obsession and regular school shirking. Yeah I was not an exemplary student in any sense of the term, except perhaps that I did not thoroughly neglect my studies, I just wanted to have some fun but at night some guilt crept in and I used to study, while everyone was asleep. No one knew that I was not following the rules, except my friends. And when the results came, I was the happiest creature alive (my smile looked a bit like this, lol). I was happy cause I had manag... More About: Story , Tory , Pierce
The National Library
2007-09-20 18:54:00 Today I went to the National Libra ry !(seriously) I love the way the lettering glows on this pic. It's like "tadaaa" or Alleluia! I had some research to do and to tell you the truth I was really impressed by the place. The staff there is really polite. I had an awesome welcome. Plus they were very helpful, they even brought me some books at my table. Aaww, I know, it's so cute.I was sitting at the back (the back bencher side of me took over) and I was watching everyone. There was a guy looking for something on a PC, there was a school boy doing some physics homework and there was an elderly man. The elderly man caught my attention the most. He was reading a huge hardbound book. When I say huge I mean it was about 1 meter high and half meter wide. Imagine such a book! It was in fact, a compilation of old newspapers and he was really absorbed in the pages, taking some notes occasionally. I could glimpse at the pages, they were genuine, old, brown paper! 2007-09-20 08:57:00 Hello people! Yesterday I've been quite busy making dal puris! :D I did it my way since I don't know the original dal puri recipe, the ones that are sold by street hawkers and so on. I made the dough with flour and "dholl gram" and some spices. I've crushed the dholl by hand. After some complicated series of events (which I am too exhausted and lazy to relate and which will not change your life the least bit), the dal puris were ready! Tadaaaaaaaaaaaa! And then I made some rougaille and potato in curry to be eaten with the dal puri. I also made a sort of soup to accompany all of this. It was a real spicy meal but I guess that my family enjoyed it, or they were pretending to be. But anyway this made me happy! Cheers people and my hungry aliens! More About: Some
Army of the Sun - Roadrunner United
2007-09-20 08:51:00 I know it's a bit early to be talking about my crush of the month but hell I can't help it plus my rock n related stuff section has been neglected for too long. The song is Army of the Sun, found in Roadrunner Records' project which was launched to celebrate its 25th anniversary entitled The All-Star Sessions. The All-Star Sessions was made possible by a team of 57 artists from 45 past and present bands working under Roadrunner's label (Roadrunner Unit ed ). The Golden Age of Weird Photography
2007-09-20 08:48:00 Dudettes and dudes, we are living in the golden age of weird photography! Believe it or not. And all this has started with the invention of digital cameras and mostly with mobile phones equipped with cameras. How to recognize a weird photograph?look for the protruding hand.Yeah the hand is almost every time present on the photograph. This is terribly freaky but we get used to it in the longrun. 2. The photos should have absolutely no meaning 3. Photos of random trash or your pets are considered as being "artsy"However our portable digital cameras can be useful at times. Especially for taking the picture of an aeroplane coming straight at you or well, it might be a truck too, so that people can actually know THE TRUTH! Hehe now you guys know there's a reason why I'm always taking pictures of things around me and of myself mainly! More About: Weird , Photography , The Golden Age , Golden , Golden Age
suddenly I see
2007-09-16 19:22:00 Lately I was in a really jovial mood, which is weird since I was in my PMS week. I don't know why I'm actually "sharing" this with you. I don't like to get personal about me on this blog (yeah really). And if you've gave super attention to what I've said you'll notice 1 thing. No? You didn't see it? oh c'mon! Yeah that's right I've got another blog. A personal one. That's where I'm not sweet at all. That's where I bash people who have pissed me off, that's where I'm me. It's not that I'm not me here; it's just that here I'm the diplomatic me. Many a time I've wanted to write posts about what has pissed me off, about stupid bitches mainly but hell I've gave up. Firstly coz I think that once my anger has receded I would want to put that post down and I wouldn't be able to do so cause I value your comments :D and that brings me to the second point, I'll have to come up with loads of crappy posts to prevent people (including me) from reading my "hate post". A Post to piss you all off.
2007-09-13 14:35:00 [This was written in ten minutes while I was going to Reduit. It contains lots of stuff about me that will not change the course of your life in the least bit. Also if you thought that I was not arrogant and self centred this has the potential to break your miserable dream. So much for the disclaimer. ]Here goes:Six years ago tragedy struck the USA and most precisely the state of NY with the incident of the WTC.Six years ago I remember that my grandma was at our place and I was sitting by my favourite glass table, doing my homework. It was a particularly tough accounting question and I was not paying attention to the muted TV playing right in front of me.Just then, the telephone rang. I don't remember who answered it but I know that just after that the volume of the TV was turned on and some foreign news channel, probably BBC or CNN was casting news about an air crash and the attack on the WTC.I was really excited by this news. My parents and sister were panicked. My grandma wanted... More About: Post , Piss

2007-09-10 18:05:00 Today I had a real hard time with Zou. She has brought a dead hen home! Yeah a real dead hen! Now you'll ask me where the hell could she have found a hen in the vicinity? Well, I'm as perplexed as you are! The dead animal was stinky as hell and imagine me trying to separate Zou from the animal and at the same time holding my breathe and trying not to puke! You get the picture? Aargh!Ah, here's Zou, laughing at my attempts to get her hen She's cute as hell but oh so naughty! And I get a feeling that she has thoroughly enjoyed making me run after her with the hen safely in her mouth. Maybe she thought I wanted a bite too!Anyway in the end I won! My Savanna is being polluted by stupid people
2007-09-05 16:54:00 It all happened yesterday when I took my dogs for their evening walks. I usually don't take them too far. I let them loose on our own property, the part that is still left wild. I call this part the savanna because, well it looks like a savanna minus the lion, zebras and giraffes of course! So, coming back to yesterday, I was really angry to see that some people have dumped their garbage on our land. I just can't imagine how someone could make so much effort just to dump his garbage in the property of others when in this region scavengers make rounds twice a week! Instead of dumping the trash here, they could just have put them in those big LMLC sacks and waited patiently for the scavengers to come and collect them. Duh! They must have looked really stupid taking all their garbage presumably by night and coming to dump them here.My mother's take on this is that those people are not aware that scavengers do collect plastic stuff and they thought they cannot burn their garbage eithe... something embarassing
2007-09-02 18:01:00 Today when I was giving tuitions to the form 3 kids I broke into a terrible fit of laughter. It was not the kind of laughter that goes for 5 seconds and ends completely, it was the kind that lasts for minutes and which leaves your mouth and cheeks aching and you blushing as hell. Luckily the kids were laughing too, especially the girls. I wonder what's wrong with the boys! Do we have to like, explain the joke? Hello?Anyway, I was reading aloud an advertisement on which they had to answer questions and I was using the kind of tone that you get to hear on the radio. You know, like those weird, out of this world kind of perfect-accented female voice. I did not find it that funny at first but when everyone started laughing their ass out I could not handle myself. Usually I adopt the one-man show (in my case one-woman show) kind of poise while giving tuitions. I do crack loads of jokes but never laugh myself. But hell, this time I gave in! A bus station near the SSR National Hospital
2007-08-24 16:15:00 So the construction of a bus station has started near the SSRN hospital at Pamplemousses where there used to be woods. Trees have been cut down and you won't recognize the place if you haven't been there for a while. The bus station will be located on the immediate neighbourhood of the hospital and I guess that those who carried out the cost/benefit analysis of the project did not take into consideration the impact of the noise caused by a bus station near a hospital where, how can I say it, people kind of need some rest and peace. Duh!Anyway guess the station will show it's convenience in due course. What do you think about it?-------------------------------------- ---------------------------A related post: something that reminded me of christmas More About: National , Hospital , Station , Spit

2007-08-22 14:46:00 At first I thought this was only a crush but then things got pretty weird. I just can't keep this song off my head! In the bus, at home I'm constantly listening to Reflect The Storm by In Flames. I'm totally in love with this song! Here's the vid from Youtube:And the lyrics!Shot for shotMany bullets penetrate meEmbrace meTell me stories of golden godsThe precision in your voicePierce the walls that I've builtYour eyes reach deep in meTake a chanceThey don't come much bigger than thisDark star spend another day with meA dead surface that doesn't reflectThe storm underneathTake the chanceBring me the calm...And it leaves nothingExpose the dark side,Aching and emotional,Expose the dark side,Impossible to tameAway from the light of the sunAway I find what is really meThrow yourself into the eye of chaosInfiltrate me,Sneak out before I awakeTake out the trash and burn itTry and find a beautiful place to layThese fragile bones of mineAway from the light of the sunAway I find what is...
PAWS
2007-08-21 16:33:00 Are you familiar with the above logo? That's the logo of PAWS, Protection of Animals Welfare Society. This organisation strives to improve animal welfare in Mauritius by carrying out sensitisation, sterilisation and adoption campaigns.Sterilisations of pets are done free of charges and in 2006 total of 12, 004 cats and dogs were sterilised! Just imagine how much the sterisation of all these animals would have cost if done at a private vet!So it seems logical that we help PAWS in our own way, depending on our means by:1) Donating.Donations can be used to pay staff including veterinarians, the maintenance cost of vans, without forgetting equipment and medicines.2) Spreading the word.Let people know about PAWS. You might help save hundreds of innocent animals.3) Get involvedYou might also get involved in field work, help raise funds, sensitise and inform people about the organisation. A placebo effect!
2007-08-17 17:30:00 Today I did some stuff to my basement stairs. I love the white and the way the steps shine now! hehe! But then after doing that I felt sick, like cold and feverish. Was an awful feeling. But then a little while before dinner my father came home and brought with him some gifts that a friend has given to him. His friend has been to Madagascar and has brought some crafty stuff for us and a Malagasy crystal. My dad gave me the stone and told me that his friend was blabbering about the supposed healing power of the crystal. I was kind of skeptical too but then when I held the crystal I felt better! Yeah, no kidding! I felt really better. Like some sort of euphoria overcoming me, I wanted to laugh. OOY! I'm still feeling well, but I'm sure I had to feel better anyway! Crystals do not cure fever, do they?P.S : I can't do a post without some flowers, my zinnias are blooming again! And by the way, this is Jevin`s masterpiece! :$ My mother would love one in our garden too! Nice work Jev!Ta... More About: Placebo , Effect
The Alien on my head and the school.
2007-08-13 14:42:00 Today was a hell of a day which I've spent mostly in the bus to and from Reduit! I was wearing a really hip hat, the kind that you get to see in R n B videos and it was pink to top it all! So just imagine the reaction of people in the bus going back home. They were like "oh my God, what is that!" Really, they were almost gossiping behind my back. I swear this is not a fit of paranoia! They were really outraged by my hat! Weirdly, I thought this was funny! It had been a while that I had gone out and I sure deserved the attention! hehe.Moving on to something more serious, (can't believe I've said this) today I was really shocked on seeing a banner for a school. The Rock Star? Oh Please!
2007-08-05 09:44:00 It's been a while that I wanted to write about this but hell I kept all of this to myself but then I've had enough of not saying it. It concerns Himesh Reshammiya, the "Indian Rock star"! Duh, just writing this bit makes me wanna puke! Why do they call this guy a rock star in the first place? I've come up with some possible explanations to explain this.1) The indian perception of rock music differs from that of the rest of the world.2) In fact they do not mean "rock" they mean rokk or roc, or roch which is a lame genre of music which basically uses all sorts of instrument to piss Morinn off.Okay people, don't get me wrong here. I would not have said anything against Reshammiya if he had been doing his thing and not calling it rock! Hell, he could even have corrected people about this whole rock issue! But nah! He chose to be an asshole. Even in the movie that he stars in, people call him a rock star! Why Oh WHY!Take a look at this, and tell me if it's rock! The stupidity does not ... changes are good
2007-07-26 08:54:00 Today at breakfast I've realised that only 2 weeks or so remain before the holidays are over.Oh my God what will happen to me now? Hihi. These holidays were among the best I had ever have in my life. I don't regret that it's nearly over though. I'll make the most of those remaining days. What was particular about these holidays was that I remained at home a lot. Going out mostly, if not always, with my family. I've spent lots of quality time creating beautiful stuff for the house, for my basement and embellishing the garden for my doggies. Haha. I've painted my basement in white. Done the windows in light blue. My mum's kitchen has got the same colour scheme too. Sounds weird that I've adopted a pale interior while my other room, which is right now a sort of study had a rather dark feel, with black ceramic tiles and dark brown and black furnitures. Ah well, changes are good! Talking about changes, have you noticed some changes to my blog? Yes yes, say yes you did! hihi. ... More About: Good , Chang , Chan

There are so many things people don't know about me. Today I attended a wedding ceremony. The place was really beautiful, everything was so unique, so perfect that I started thinking about my own marriage; about how unique it would be, with lots of lights and so much more flowers. I can't imagine festivities without flowers. And I will design the layout of the wedding altar. Would You?
2007-07-20 13:49:00 So the big question is, would you donate? Would you go to a hospital and sign a form so that in case you die in an accident or something like that your healthy organs(heart, kidneys, eyes) are made available to be transplanted to a compatible receiver?I would and I certainly will. It is not just because that is done in movies and I wanna be called an incredibly wow person, it's just that I'll feel good to know that someone is living off a part of me. I feel the same when I give my blood twice a year.Of course it depends on your choice. But it's just a form guys! You're not signing to be murdered! Hehe!As for kidney donation, I may be in after my death but certainly not while I'm still alive, except if someone dear to me really needs it. Please try to not need it people! The thing is, I know my grand dad died of kidney failure. Oh God that must have been painful and I don't even want that to happen to people I hate. You can even use coloured crepe paper (mousseline paper)gluescissorsAll you got to do is to fold 1cm off one side of the 12 x 12 paper and 1cm off each side of the 13 x 13cm paper, as shown in the picture below. The 13 x 13 paper will be the base of the lanternThe 12 x 12 ones will be the walls. All you got to do now is to trace patterns on the walls and cut them out. Patterns depend on what you want. I used 1 different pattern on each wall of the lantern below. As you see, my drawing skills are not very good.
