The Other Side of Daylight

It is 2pm here in Malaysia and I have been awake more than 20 hours already. I actually planned to go to bed early last night but then hubby needed to go to the office and he wondered if I wanted to accompany him. Being the good wife I am, I said ok and so that was where we were till this morning around 9am. After hubby's partner arrive, we had breakfast then proceeded home to catch some zzz.Then at around 11am, we got a call from my MIL saying that one of my SIL was admitted to the hospital. Seeing how we were still fresh after the breakfast and the morning shower, we thought, ok let's go visit SIL and see how she is. We could also go and collect the luxury watches that my FIL wanted us to pick up for him.So guess where I am right now??I am again at the office!! Lolzz!!...We are going for lunch soon and I figure if I get tired in a short while, I'll just sleep in my room here.Cheerio...

Purple Dragon Fruit

I was over at the supermarket today and I saw this fruit that looked similar to the dragon fruit I'm used to seeing and having when I was in Vietnam. So remembering the yummylicious taste, I decided to purchase it. After all it was only RM3.95 for four pieces, which is pretty cheap.So once we got home, I cut it open and instead of white flesh like the ones I'm used to seeing, the flesh was bright purple. I seriously don't know if they coloured the fruit or something but the taste was just as yummy as I remembered it. So anyone else have ever seen or tasted this purple dragonfruit before??Cheerio...

I was tagged a few days ago by GP on this Complaint Tag and so here goes.I hate Malaysian roads. Yes I absolutely hate them. I hate that there are no proper road signs and even when there are, the route always take you through the longer way. I hate there are holes everywhere and I hate that there are so many detour, I always end up lost all the time.Once I was picking up my friend at the airport and I missed the turn to go the highway. I thought taking the next exit was the safest best so I could turn back and make a turnaround. Due to no proper signage, suffice to say I was 4hours late picking my friend up. Then there were times when we had to cancel going to a relative wedding which was held at their home coz we got lost along the way due to, again, lack of road signs. Nasi Lemak Delight

We always pass by this Nasi Lemak stall each time we go to the office but we never tried the food there before. They always look busy with customers and we even saw on one occasion some customers being turned away coz they came too late and there was no more Nasi Lemak left. So we decided this morning that we gonna try and see what the fuss is about.I was standing there waiting when this nice lady asked me if I have taken my number. I asked her what number would that be and she explained that the stall owner actually gave out queue number! Wow! That's definitely new. So I took my number, 37, from on the table and waited by the sideline. As I was waiting for my turn, more people came and the stall owner actually looked worried and stopped giving numbers out as she was concerned there might not be enough Nasi Lemak to go around.Anyway, my number came up and I requested for two packets of Nasi Lemak with cuttlefish. How many of you would buy two of anything just because the price of the second item is sold at discounted price? Or how many of you would buy in bulk just because buying bulk would save you money and you know you're gonna use the item in the future anyway? I know I'm like that. That's why I love to buy wholesale products. Wow! I can't believe it's the last week of April already. The first quarter of the year is gone and the end of next quarter is approaching fast. Where did the time go??It's like Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and then it's the weekend again. Woweee so fast!!!We hardly plan anything for weekends and this one is no different. In fact, can you believe that I am still at hubby's office? He had some computers to attend to and the client has specifically requested for an overnight job. So we are now waiting for him to come and pick up the computers so we can head on home and go to bed .My brain is getting slower already so I shall speak in codes ok..I need some and but for now some would be nice. We were over at our old rental unit just to see if we still have mails being sent there and true enough we still do. These companies just don't update addresses do they?? Let me say this before I start, I am not complaining. I love my current lifestyle though it may seem weird to most. Me and Azwaj are night owls. We are nocturnal creatures. We rise at sunset and sleep at sunrise, though sometimes, even then, we are still awake (like today for instance).I know this must not not be good for us but so far our bodies are not complaining and we are in the pink of health :).... though I must admit it scares me that some articles that I've been reading stated that with not enough sleep, your body tend to slow down and that would affect the metabolism rate.Yikes, I need to lose weight not gain any!! My mom and late father loved wrestling and boxing matches. So I literally grew up in a household that would sit around in front of the tv on Saturday nights and watched wrestling. We would yell and screamed for the wrestlers to beat each other up and of course cheered when our favourites won. So much like families crowd around watching football or soccer, our sport was wrestling! Oh those were fun times.Then I started working and my father passed away and suddenly I just stopped watching wrestling and boxing matches altogether. It was just not the same you know.I only started watching again when I got married and started living in Malaysia. A long long time ago, I loved reading magazines like Her World, Female and Go. Then their prices went up but article wise, the quality was the same and then I also noticed that there were more ads than articles. That was the start of me NOT reading and buying magazines except the occasional glancing and browsing at the local bookstore.One day, I accompanied Azwaj to the barber shop and seeing that I've got nothing to do there except watch the rows of men having their hair cut, I browsed through their magazine collection. Streamyx and Lightning Don't Mix

If there is one thing I know about streamyx and lightning is that they don't click. My streamyx connection went dead on me last friday afternoon after a thunderstorm and I only got reactivated again today! According to hubby, both our modem and the line was affected thus the unsuccessful reconnection after the purchase of the new modem on Friday night.So all though the weekend, I was "internet-less" and went out of my mind with boredom. I slept early and in fact had a slight sleep over-dose and woke up with a splitting headache! Hubby was also stressed out as he had to do some online work and was unable to do them at home. Both of us were too lazy to go to the office this weekend and so you can just imagine how frustrated we were. I reckon our life insurance rates will shoot up if this continues..lolzz. Still no Internet!!!

Hubby had to work offsite today so I decided to stay in and live without internet for this afternoon. He promised that if it didn't rain this evening, we can take a quick motorcycle ride to Low Yatt to get the new modem. There was no way we were driving to town at that time of the evening. It is after all Friday night and traffic would be horrendous!!So I waited for his return and I prayed it didn't rain but off course, it did and heavily I might add. I did not lose hope as it was only 7pm and Low Yatt stores opened till late. We waited and waited and suddenly the rain stopped. Yippeee! To make a long story short, we sent the old modem for repair and we got a brand new one.It's NOT the MODEM.When we got home, hubby installed the modem and whadayya know it's not the modem after all coz we were still not able to connect to the internet. I Love Re-Runs

I''m going to be busy.. yeap extremely busy, watching re-runs that is . Hubby's busy at work which means I can watch my favorite medical show, Grey's Anatomy reruns! He's a bit queasy when it comes to medical shows like this one so I try not to watch it when he's around. You should see the poor man squirming when a patient comes in with a severed arm or when there is an operating scene..I swear I can hear this knees knocking each other...lolzz..I'm all comfy in bed now (yeap watching in my bedroom), with my sleep wedge all propped up to give me the right support angle, my remote control, my tissue roll (in case there's a teary scene), my hot Milo by my side and of course my cheesecake with it's sinfully delicious hot fudge.So guys, if you don't hear from me for the next 12hours, you'll know what I'm doing ok Cheerio...

I slept early last night in anticipation of an early morning (by that I mean alarm clock set up to 10am..lolzz) today..all excited to meet up with Natrah 2pm for lunch. I even had my mobile phone next to me in case she calls me for confirmation. I did indeed got a sms from her at around 7am but it was a request for a change of time and venue. Her son was not feeling well and so she had to leave early back to Baling and she was wondering if we can have an early lunch over at her hotel instead.Alamak, hubby was getting ready for work. I remember the first time I heard the word and it was while watching my favourite comedy show "Friends". It was an episode when Rachel was trying to be independent and stop using her father's credit card but instead she went on a shopping spree and one of the items that she bought was "Pashmina". I was doing..doing .. doing..ohh well... doing something lah. ...NOT!!.. ... It is rather a very late Friday.......at least for us!Me and hubby have not even gone to bed yet. My MIL's, or fondly known as Mama , birthday is coming soon. Me and hubby really don't know what to give her. I mean, what do you give a woman who has it all right? So we always give her gifts that would remind her just how much we love her. My buddies would attest to the fact that the way I churned our new entries is like the way I typed and that is pretty fast. It's not that I have no life but it's just that I have plenty to say or write for that matter.. Suffice to say that even now I am spacing my blog entries so that there would not be too many post for LJL visitors to read in a day. I need to check myself into a center. A Stationery Anonymous rehab center. It seems I can't stop buying stationery! I love going to a stationery store to buy all sorts of ink pens, those cute lead pencils they have nowadays, files, dividers, notebooks and anything cute and adorable I can get my hands on.I blame it all on my previous company. I was put in charge of stationery shopping and since when I do shop, the bill went to the finance department, I just grabbed anything that the company, or rather I, need and want and charge it.And so that habit had festered itself into me and now I can't walk by a stationery store without wondering what's new and itching to go in and check it out.
