The Budget Fuss ...

oh my God !!! today was union budget.. There was nothing else on News channels other than the face of the dhoti clad man , who with just a suitcase was able to make the entire nation speak about him. ( which even SRK can't manage). & to add to that .. There are dicussions on his budget (before & after).. Good budget ,Bad budget , Rate the Budget ,axe the tax campaign ( the most absurd programme which claims that the FM slashed tax rates coz they recommended it.) , if i were FM , aam aadmi , farmers budget , election budget etc etc.. ( too tiring & irritating !!)The most irritating part of those discussions are the fact that they talk about the issues which they dont have any personal relevance too.. for eg:- There was the MD of a software company speaking highly about farmer loans waiver.. This Winter has been a sort of dampener in terms of weather. Its been very warm in the afternoons... In fact its not been like winter at all.. Adding to it is the unseasonal rain.. A "dampener" really..But thank GOD..!! The disappointment is only with the weather.. No other serious complaints..In fact the positive aspect of this season has been the remarkable comebacks... No one in their wildest of dreams would have imagined Team India to win the T20 world cup... that too after being humiliated in the 50 over version of the same tournament...Perhaps the England cricket team ( my favorite) is the only one which hasn't risen from the "ASHES"..Maybe they don't believe in phoenix 'birthology'.. We kissed the clouds literally... 'WE' refers to 15 of my class guys (including me)who went to kodaikanal amidst disapprovals from various corners . Everyone else said " right place but wrong time".However we were adamant and we proceeded with our journey...The whole trip was enjoyable.. however somethings stood out during this trip that made it unique ....--> Each and everything about this trip was planned 2 months in advance & tickets booked a month before...( quite surprising .... is it not?)--> who can forget SAI during this trip...? His trademark blabberings...!!(the surprise element is the fact tat it was intolerable) --> Venkat fell during the trip from a waterfall & got stitches from van allen hospital..( most unexpected)--> we all slept well...( ya we did...!!)--> we played catch & catch...( how silly..!!)--> we trespassed a lot...(tat too especially actor banumathy's cottage)--> we never knew the address of our cottage...(lol... seriously it was always opposite banumat...

Time flies really fast.. It seems only a month ago I started blogging , but one year has gone by... In this post , I thought I could look back at the events that happened in the past year.After I started Blogging ....--> I got the result of my semester exams and I top the class.--> I had a great cultural season in which I won in all events I participated .--> I was nearly rusticated twice from the college .--> The college underwent a strike in which a I played a major part.--> I was put off for 2 weeks by a disgusting disease called 'Leptospirosis'--> I shifted my home 3 times..!!--> I woke up every alternate day for four months @ 4 Am to attend Accountancy Class.--> A fortnight before my Intermediate exams , I was in bed for 5 days with Chicken pox.--> I cleared my Intermediate group 1 with the minimum required marks of 150.--> I became The cultural secretary.--> A bad cultural season followed in which I won only 3 out of 9 events I participated. --> I accidentaly got into a ...

'idhu kadhai alla nijam.... ' Even though I have been handling cultural related work this year , I can now do so with authorithy and absolutely according to my wish since I am officially The Cultural Secretary of the Corporate department. The first thing in my agenda is to conduct an inter-collegiate at Vivekananda college ( which is near impossible with the kind of narrow-minded management)..!!I am confident I'll achieve the " mission impossible " this yr..Also winning the overall at outside cults has been a distant dream.WE have always come second(thanks to filthy brats from Stella Maris.)I hope that this distant dream will surely be chased and acheived this year..!! Remember all are not false promises..!!I know it is difficult to please everyone...All I can say is I will try to do my best...!!

When you have sincerely put some efforts and if you do not win.. heart breaks.so whenever you win, enjoy and show out your emotions....!!!! There's nothing wrong in it...This is how I think.. this is how I behave when there is a victory for me either in cults or in some street cricket match... Victory is sweet.. u got to cherish..Reflect what your heart tells .. Care a damn about people who say your emotions have gone overboard.. just neglect them...You do not see Sachin Tendulkar celebrating wildly after each century... he keeps his emotions under conrtol. But see him when he takes a wicket.. He just lets the emotions go by..think why..? Many people think being silent and not showing emotions is good manners.. Seriously all is fair in war and sports... I've always thought 'tsunami' was a bit of a joke and a kind of natural spectacle until I saw this.....I looked at this photograph for sometime and was shell shocked. Oh my god... "Vivekananda college" , people say is one of the strict colleges in chennai...But we the 'BCS gang' always find a way to 'escape'...I'll try to explain that better...hmm... ya..maybe...I'll put it this way... We the 'BCS gang' are probably the 'FRED & GEORGE' of vivekananda college controlled by 'Umbridge'.... !!! ( a pity good explanation i think...??) ..There's lot of hangout's around our college .. the Beach... INOX..,Satyam..,Park...etc etc... How could u resist the temptations of these hang-outs while sitting in coll... IT all began like this .....(a) I was in class 2. It was the hindi period . ( I forgot the teacher's name , may be priya or brinda) .The teacher said '' I want all of you to clarify your doubts in hindi right now . I will not encourage doubts later ". I had a doubt . I did not know the meaning of a particular sentence , & therefore I raised my hand with the doubt . Teac her nodded . I stood up with utmost innocence and asked her, " Miss , What is meant by ' choli ke peeche kya hai..?? ' ". She was stunned .The whole class broke into a laughter... There are some seriously irritating characters in my college and Mr 'P' is one among them. He rarely speaks to anyone in class or canteen but unfortunately he does talk only in a toilet and that too only when a guy is busy pissing...!!!On a particular day I met him inside the toilet (my bad luck).... I was about to piss and this guy comes to my neighbouring 'slot' and smiles at me .... I smile back and turn my attention to the important job... then he starts..Mr 'P' : "Hi ...."Me : (??)"Hi...."Mr 'P' : "What are you doing ?"(My God...! wat a question inside toilet !)Me : "er...(in total anger ). Understanding the "Corporate" GURU

Guru is awesome !!!Its by far ManiRatnam's best celluloid work.We all know that.I am not going to review the movie in this blog. Instead , I am going to focus on the "Corporate " side of this film.Infact there are several instances in the film which are relevant to the subjects that I study.This has made me to understand the film better. The film has obviously relied on the Indian Companies Act 1956 which comes in my law paper both in Bcom and CA (pe-2) . There are some scenes in the film which talks 'COMPANY LAW' and has kindled my interest and made me to enjoy the film better which I am sure that people involved with some other proffession would not be able to. The Tamilnadu government has issued an order slashing the ticket rates at cinema theatres across the state effective from Jan 1, 2007! The earlier government had allowed cinemas halls to increase the ticket rates of any film in its first two weeks of release. Hence theatres were charging Rs 100 to Rs 200 for almost all Tamil films which according to TFPC discouraged the common man to visit cinema halls and instead encouraged piracy! At Rs 30 an entire family was able to watch a film in their homes with a pirated CD's. Now a uniform rate has been prescribed for all theatres whether they show new/old films! From Jan 1, 2007 the new ticket rates in Cities (Chennai, Coimbatore, and other corporations) are- Air conditioned theatreHighest rate will be Rs 50! (eg:- SATHYAM COMPLEX)10 percent of total seats at lowest rates-Rs 10. "Let this be a beginning and let our police roam in a benz or bmw or other cars like in other countries". said chief minister.The time you break the law in Chennai, prepare yourself to be caught by the Chennai police in a swanky car – thanks to Hyundai. The Hyundai Motor India presented the Chennai City Police Force with 100 Accents that is being used as their new patrol vehicles( new way of ice!). The police say they will now be able to respond to distress calls from citizens in less than three minutes. The cars will soon have digital cameras to catch traffic violations and crime scenes on video. However the bad news is that I ve already seen 4-5 of these cars being maintained very badly. I realised CCTP is never NYPD !
