Be a Teacher
2008-03-07 20:04:00 For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to a teacher. Since I was a young girl, that was all I can talk about. I don't know why but it was just something that I wanted to do when I grow up. However, it was not to be. After my "A" levels result came out I knew that it was not good enough for university so I decided to just register at the Institute of Education for a teaching program but when even that was rejected I knew I had to move on and decided on a another career path. Don't get me wrong. I enjoyed my new career but at the back of mind I've always dream of becoming a teacher and hope that one day that dream might come true. Then, I came across this site that offers an online teaching degree. The site offers a host of information on the different kinds of education and teaching degrees that is available to be taken online at their online colleges.Have I found the perfect place to fulfill my dreams? Or perhaps you have a similar dream to materialize as well. Let'... More About: Teacher
Viva Las Vegas
2008-03-01 21:10:00 I just love watching the tv series Las Vegas and CSI. While Las Vegas offers a more relaxed story line, CSI has never failed me in terms of mind boggling cases. Both shows are equally fun and entertaining. In case you don't know what I am talking about, Las Vegas is a tv series revolving around the characters working in a Las Vegas hotel. Each week the plot would involve what else but gambling and how the casino gamblers would find ways to cheat the house. However, we all know the house never lose.CSI is short for criminal scene investigators or investigation. These people are the first to arrive at the crime scene and they would process all the evidence to be presented to the district attorney's office. They analyze DNA, blood splatters pattern, bullets and at one time alien abduction!Don't you just love tv :)Cheerio... More About: Links , Viva Las Vegas , Useful
Men and Cars
2008-02-28 16:42:00 What is it with men and cars? For us ladies, it's just a mode of transportation, to get us from point A to point B. However, for them, it is an entirely different story. My mother-in-law always relate to me how when my hubby was a wee little boy of four or five, he was able to tell the model of any car that he saw on the road. Now, his mother was very puzzled as she herself would not recognized some model especially those that are not so popular on the road. So one day, she asked her son and this boy of four or five told her,"Just look at the face of the car mommy!"...lolzz... Who would have known that at such a tender age he was already noticing such things!Nowadays, my hubby is an avid fan of shows like "Fifth Gear", "Overhaul" and "Monster Garage" and he keeps saying how if he has a lot of extra money he would buy a Mustang and how he would hot rod it just like Chip of "Overhaul". He would explain to me in detailed how he would get the Mustang parts online (I guess he already sou... More About: Cars

Another Runaway Thread??
2008-02-21 09:11:00 OMG! Another runaway thread?? I was checking out my scar from the my surgery six weeks back and I saw this white thing jutting out from the scar. It looked like dry skin but at the same time it looked like thread. Only a small portion can be seen.I switched on the lights, sat down and started prying at the the foreign object. It looked like thread and after further probing, IT IS THREAD! I managed to pinch the edge and pull and it came out with a slight tug. Wow! After six weeks, and the swelling still has not gone down all the way to expose any leftover thread? Wow!Oh well, I hope that was the last of them, coz all the wounds are closing up nicely and whatever remains inside would, I guess, stay inside. Hopefully nothing will turn septic on me. OMG! that would be disastrous! Natrah is this normal??Cheerio... More About: Thread , Runaway
Prohormones?
2008-02-16 15:27:00 After my fibroid surgery, a friend told me that the doctor would probably prescribed me with some hormone pills to get me pregnant and because of that I would probably get twins or even triplets. That is just fine by me. Approaching forty, I need all the help I can get and if I can push it to three at one go, why not? Get it over and done with right. Then close down the factory ...lolzzz...So when I came across this site on prohormones, I was curious to find out just what it was. It was definitely not what I thought but I guess the site speaks for itself. So if you want to know more about prohormones, check out the website ok.Cheerio... More About: Links , Useful
Beat the Winter Dryness
2008-02-16 15:27:00 I'm blessed to be living in a country where the sun always shine. However for those of you that live in places where you experience the four seasons, winter might find your skin at its dryness. Here's a tip to beat the winter dryness. To repair and fully hydrate your skin - simply find a large basin and fill it with steamy hot water. Take a small dab of pure olive oil and place onto the dry areas of your face. Hold your head over the bowl and let the steam open your pores and moisturize your skin. After about five minutes you just wash away the oil, and you skin will stay silky and soft for weeks!Cheerio... More About: Beauty , Winter , Beat

When I am a Landlord...
2008-02-16 09:20:00 One thing I hate about renting a house is the household features that the owners thrust upon its tenant. One thing that has become a pet peeve for me for me is the kitchen. Some owners are nice enough to provide kitchen cabinets while others just assume we put our pots and pans on the floor! However, what really irks me is the kitchen sink. Most of them would select the very basic single bowl sink which is very shallow, then they would provide the faucet that is too long that makes washing pots and pans nearly impossible so much so that I have to wash them in the bathroom. I'm not asking for a nice Hansgrohe faucet, but a realistic one will do. Most of time, hubbs got to buy a shorter one to accommodate my requirements.I mean, is it too much to want to make your tenant feel comfortable in a house that they would call home for a duration of time. I don't think so and if I ever become a landlord myself, there would be no complaints in that department. Just make sure you pay your rent... More About: Links , Useful
Good Posture to a Beautiful You
2008-02-16 08:58:00 Everyone know the importance of good posture, be it for health or beauty purposes.Health because it makes sure that the force of gravity through our body is distributed evenly so that no one structure is overstressed, and beauty because no one likes to see a sloucher. Also, for me, standing up and sitting straight always makes me feel more confident and when you are confident, you are more beautiful. That is why posture correction is so important. If you are unfortunate enough to not have anyone comment on your posture or help you to correct yours, you can try the posture corrector like the one shown below. This supportive brace helps you to correct your posture while offering support to back strain which is a big possibility if your posture is bad. The Best Make Up Tool...
2008-02-16 07:37:00 ....is at your fingertips. I got this tip from a contributor over at daytipper. Most makeup artists recommend using your fingers to blend eye shadow, eyeliner, brow shadow, blush and concealer. Your body warmth helps to heat all types of makeup which causes them to blend more completely. It saves you money and works much better than brushes, so use your fingers ladies, but make sure they are cleansed every single time!Cheerio... More About: Beauty , Make Up , Tool , Vanity , Make

Some have gone without rice (staple food of us Asian) for days, some have cut down their sugar intake and some just joined a fitness center. So I'm wondering if I should do on a diet as well. I've never been on one in my life and really don't know where to start but I came across this booklet that instead of stressing on losing weight per say, it advised us to eat healthy instead. It also highlighted some do's and don'ts to be healthy as well and I thought I'd shared them with you as well.Do'sSnack right by eating celery sticks, apples, bananas, oranges and whole grain crackers instead of junk foodBreakfast is crucial; never skip breakfast as it the THE most important meal of the dayTake fresh fruits instead of canned/preserved fruits which contain high sugarDon'tsDo not overcook vegetables as high temperature can cause loss of nutrient contentAvoid eating internal organs such as liver and kidney which is high in cholesterol and ...
A Runaway Thread
2008-02-09 13:22:00 I was at my hubs office yesterday when I felt itchiness at the wound where the tube was hanging out of me after my fibroid surgery. When Dr Fauziah removed the tube, I distinctively remembered her cutting all the thread that was holding the tube to my body so I was very surprised looking at the thread jutting out like that.I called to my hubby to confirm that it was indeed a thread and he concurred it was. We were like "WTF?" right. I was at first tugging the thread out gently but hubby upon seeing that panicked and was worried that there was a knot attached to it, the thread might break leaving the knot in there. He told me.. "We'll go and see the doctor on Monday".Now, if you know me better, you would know I have no qualms with blood, wounds and stitches. In fact, when we neutered our cats and when hubby insisted we bring them back to the clinic to remove the stitches, I told him, I'll removed it myself and I did. Successfully, I might add :)So I was not about to leave this runa... More About: Thread , Runaway
A Technical Wife
2008-02-09 12:20:00 Just what is a Technical Wife , you may ask. Well it simply means that being a wife to a computer hardware guy like my hubby is, I am expected to know what is an ethernet switch, an ethernet card, a Cat 5 cable, RJ45, face plates, patch panel and media converters. Wow that was a mouthful! It also means, I have to keep up to speed with terminology like SATA, IDE, PCI cards etc, etc, coz otherwise I would not understand half of what he's saying and I don't want to be excluded from any conversation or to be appear stupid when I open my mouth. Call it vanity, call it "kiasu".. call it ME!Anyway, they do say the way to a man's heart is through his mind right or was it through is tummy?? I'm confused!!Cheerio... More About: Links , Useful
The Party Starts Here!
2008-02-09 11:59:00 Part of being a woman that I love so much is when I get to organize parties and events. I'm a control freak and I will gladly admit it. I remember when I was getting married, I refuse to let anyone handle anything. Although being a bride was hard enough with all the fittings, the trial makeup and hairdo, I was still running around selecting souvenirs for the guest, sourcing out caterers and even invitation cards. It's been a while since I've been involved with any planning. The last being my SIL's wedding five years ago. That is why I volunteer my services to a friend of mine who is getting ready to do her first communion invitations. She has tonnes of other things to do so I figured I helped her out with this aspect of the event and who knows I may even get to dabble with other things as well.. Oohhh fun!!Cheerio... Quick tips for Lens Care
2008-02-04 15:19:00 I remember back when I was growing up and how I hated to wear my glasses. So when I managed to get into junior college and as a present for doing so well in my "O" levels, my dad brought me to the optician to get a pair of contact lenses. I was the most excited 16 years old I tell you! However, being young and a bit careless, I contracted conjunctivitis in my first year of wearing it and had to forgo the lenses and reverted back to my glasses. Oh well, such is life. However, here's some quick tips for lens care in case you are interested:Thoroughly wash and rinse your hands with soap and rinse them until there is no soapy feelings left before handling your contact lensesAlways apply and remove your lenses one at a time in the same manner, to avoid mixing them upNever use anything to clean your lenses except for the recommended multipurpose solutionsNever sleep without removing your lensesClean and disinfect your lenses every time you remove themKeep your multipurpose solution bottle... Healthy Diet Plan
2008-02-04 08:55:00 Eating healthily does not mean that one should start reducing their food intake and lose weight. Healthy eating requires the person to:Consume the right proportion of foodSelect the right choice of foodPrepare the food correctlyKnowing what nutrients the food containsConsume healthy food!Instead of consuming just one type of food, take in a variety of food. There are various other options that also can be practiced, for example:Vegetables, grains and fruits - consume lots of these as they provide essential nutrients for your bodyWhen eating meat, select lean cuts and if possible, select white meat such as chicken and fish instead of red meatLimit the intake of caffeine, alcohol and salt in your diet as they can dehydrate youDrink lots of water.Change graduallyThere is no need to make a drastic change. Cool Travel Machines
2008-02-03 05:36:00 We women love our beautiful things. But then again what gender doesn't so let me rephrase that. We love beautiful things. That includes from clothes, shoes, accessories and cars.Speaking of cars, I had an education with my hubby yesterday as we were waiting for his car to to be repaired at the shop. He showed me how accessories can make or break the way a car looks. From paint job, to tinted windows to tires. He also showed me how chrome accessories like chrome trim, rear spoilers and cargo liners, can make all the difference in the way a car look. From a normal looking car, you'll get one awesome cool looking travel machine. And you know what? He's right. I saw a car being transformed right before my very eyes at the shop. Cheerio... The Diagnosis Is Out
More articles from this author:2008-02-01 17:16:00 Ok, so I called Dr Fauziah's office today to find out about my urine test. The girl told me that normally if they found anything wrong, they would call the patient immediately so the fact that I did not receive any call or any mail from them means that there is nothing wrong and the test came back negative for any infection.Just as I have suspected, it is not UTI. I've experienced UTI before and this is definitely not it. The pain is not down there but rather on the tummy area, where I figure the surgery was done on. Anyway, I guess I will live with it a few more weeks, perhaps it is one of the after effect of the surgery. No reason to worry yet. Like Dr Fauziah say, if the pain persist, I'll see here again in a month time.Cheerio... More About: Diagnosis 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 |
