Follow up Appointment at the Gynae
2008-01-28 14:38:00 Three weeks sure goes by so fast. I had my appointment with my gynae, Dr Fauziah, today for my post-surgery follow-up. She told me that the test on my fibroids show no signs of cancer or any extraordinary finding. Phew! The analysis of the fibroids were:Three fibroids 150grams in weight measuring 4.3x2.5x2.5cm, 4x3.3x2.5cm and 6x5.5x4.5cmNo degenerative changes seenNo malignancyHere's a picture of it as taken by the lab.Scary eh to think those thing were inside of me and growing each time I ovulate! My other concerns that I raised up while with her was that sometimes, just above the incision, it would hurt when I pass my hands over it and that I can't seem to be able to hold my pee. It's like when I need to go, I need to go!So she did an ultrasound again and found that there are still some unwanted fluids in my womb. These were supposed to have been discharged when the tube was still in there. It seems that I did not move enough while still in the hospital so not all the fluid and ...
The Easier Way To Shop
2008-01-27 10:00:00 I always say how I love technology. This is especially so true when it comes to shopping. Where else can you find products like Zenni Optical $8 Rx Glasses if not for online shopping? I mean if the prices don't entice you, the design of glasses available here definitely would. I simply fell in love with this one. It is so trendy and the price is unbelievable at only USD8.00 with the lenses. And the best thing about it is, it is done online. You just choose your frame, put in your prescription that you can easily get from your current optician, confirmed your order and your new glasses would be on their way to you.I am so glad I found this website. I would name this site as one of my 2008 Great Discovery: Zenni Optical and this particular model as my 2008 Best Thing Found: Zenni OpticalThank you so much Zenni OpticalCheerio... What Would You Sacrifice for Love?
2008-01-26 19:39:00 Love conquers all. Or so they say. Love goes beyond all boundaries and for love you leave your family and friends. For love you sacrifice everything even your own life. How true is this sentiment? In today's world, with self gratification being on the top of the list, is there place for love to survive.? I believe there is. I believe if love is strong, it can move mountains. If love is strong, it can move an ocean.A true life event inspired this post. Not mine but of someone I know. She comes from a rich family. She has everything she ever wanted. She's the pampered one in the family simply because she is the only girl. Then she fell in love. She fell in love with someone whom her father did not approve. However, she continued seeing this guy as her mother still gave her approval although it was behind her father's back. Her boyfriend made it to a good working position and soon impressed her father and somehow they managed to get his blessing. All went fine until the boyfriend made... More About: Love , Sacrifice
Start The Year Right!
2008-01-26 17:57:00 You know how people always makes resolution every new year and end up forgetting about them throughout the year? Well not me. You want to know why? Coz I don't make any. I just try to be the best person I can, striving to be a better person day in and day out. One of the things that I try to do is help people, sometimes in terms of donation and sometimes in terms of volunteer work. Due to shortage of time, however, I don't get to do much of that anymore as compared to when I was in school, so the next best thing is to donate. One new way to donate that I found is through a car donation. A non-profit company, Car Angel, takes up all sorts of donation including cars to make videos for kids and teens just like the one below. Over 2.4million videos have been given away!So if you have a car to give away, why not donate it to Car Angel?Cheerio... More About: Links , Start , Useful , Year
Real Estate Chat
2008-01-26 10:04:00 Speaking of dream homes, let me stress on how important it is to find a good real estate agent. A good agent would pay attention to your needs and your wants while a bad one will only be concerned about their commission.Take it from someone who had an extremely bad experience before, it ain't fun. In fact your dream home might turn out to be your nightmare home. Some of these agents are very new in the line but the way they portrayed themselves is like they have been in the industry for ages simply because that is how they are trained. Then when posed with certain unusual circumstances, they freak out and disappear leaving us with an exclusive contract that we can't get out of and stuck with them for three months without any action. So moral of the story, get a real estate agent from word of mouth, someone that is recommended by friends or someone you trust. Alternatively get one from reputable company that has a long standing record of success.Cheerio... More About: Chat , Estate , Real Estate , Links , Real
Home With A Picket Fence
2008-01-26 09:17:00 I believe it is every women's dream to own a house with a white picket fence, or at least every girl's romantic dream that is. Just like finding her prince charming that would sweep her off her feet and they both ride off towards the sunset kind of thing. Hehe.. I guess it's this romantic month that is bringing all this up.. sigh...Anyway, back to that dream house, Wilmington real estate has a featured properties that simply caught my eye coz it is so beautiful. Although it does not have a picket fence right now, that could easily be installed later on.Look at it. Ain't it quaint! You should check out the interior. The kitchen is too die for. Really awesome and beautiful.Oh well.. it remains a dream for now but hopefully it would soon be a reality.Cheerio... More About: Home , Links , Useful , Fence

I love that it is bigger and spacious and the fact that my files can be opened whenever I'm working on them so that I can refer to materials easily. And since my new laptop comes with wireless LAN network means I can easily work on the conference table as well.Conference table now comes in all size, color and design. Thank you Emma!
2008-01-22 18:01:00 I just wanted to share this wonderful drawing from Emma , our niece, that she drew inside of a greeting card for me while I was at the hospital for my surgery. The lipgloss was also a wonderful gesture as she probably saw how dry my lips were on her first visit as I was not allowed to drink for close to 36hours. Not sure who's idea it was, whether it was Emma or her mother's but it was very much appreciated.Mak Chuck loves Emma and her mom..Cheerio..

Who does not love the elegant scent of Chanel Number 5 right?Speaking of elegance, have you seen Chanel J12 watch series? Absolutely lovely. And guess what?! I found the place to get them at a great price. It's an online store called "Essential Watches" and they offer prices which is more economical than their retail price.Ahem Ahem honey, I do need a new watch you know..lolzzCheerio... Valentine's Day Shopping
2008-01-19 07:23:00 Valentine's Day is around the corner ladies. And again that is cause for shopping... Yeay!!! Me and hubbs personally don't celebrate this day coz we believe everyday is a day for love and getting something for someone you love requires no special day. That being said, everything is so expensive around this time because stores are taking advantage of this very commercialised holiday. So be smart about where and when you shop. If possible at all shop early, possibly as early as Christmas when everything is at a discount. Alternatively you can shop online. Some store offers fantastic discount or free shipping despite the holiday. Kohls coupon codes for example gives you 15% of your order and 30% Off no minimum when you use your Kohl's card.So go ahead and shop for your loved ones this Valentine's day but remember shop smart and wise.. after all we are the women of the house ;)Cheerio... Packing Smart
2008-01-19 07:08:00 Whenever we as a family go anyway for a holiday, it always ended up the ladies doing all the packing. So here are some tips on packing smart:Don't overpack. Always wear everything twiceStart with a basie of one basic colour. Opt for pants and shirts either in black, brown or navyBring colourful accessories to brightened up both day and night outfits. A scarf can double up as a sash or a wrap for your shouldersPack a few staples like jeans, white shirt, sneakers and denim jacketPack everything in extra large ziplock bags. The bags allow airport security to look through the items without unpacking the luggageLook for clothes that will not have to be ironed.Transfer things like shampoo and liquid soap into small plastic bottle especially with the airport rulings. If you are going to the US, your bag should be one with Transportation Security Administration (TSA)-recognised lock, so TSA officers can open the bag with a master key to physically check content, without having to cut the lo... Stop the Pop!
2008-01-19 06:48:00 What is the one thing that I detest while surfing? I have to say it and I'm sure it is unanimously agreed that it has to be Popups. Am I wrong?I don't mind the ones that popup after I leave the site but those that appear as I enter is an absolute "no, no" and I don't think I would want to visit the site again. I mean I understand it is an ad and it is supposed to attract attention but come on, I'm already there at your site, I'll look around and if there is something I like, I'll click on it, ok.So that is why I've installed popup blocker on my laptop and desktop. One particular one I like is STOPzilla, the most advanced pop-up protection available. Aside from just stopping pop-up, it also, detects, blocks, and quarantines Spyware and Adware in true real time. It also has an on-demand & automatic Spyware scanning. The software also updates automatically for optimal protection. It kills browser hijackers, removes rootkits, prevents botnet attacks, blocks phishing attacks... More About: Links , Stop , Useful
Women Can Do Anything!
2008-01-18 09:03:00 I am so proud of women nowadays. We can be anything we want to set our hearts to be. "The sky's the limit' they say and that is so so true nowadays.Just recently I was watching a show on Astro and it was something about constructions and mega buildings and bomb expert. Guess what?! The head foreman was a "ForeWoman". Woman was I impressed! This forty something lady with two kids was also taking a step ahead in her career development as she is taking a further course in the construction industry to be someone more skilled and with more responsibilities on her shoulders.I guess when you are in a so-called "Men" industry, you always have to be a step ahead so that you won't be frowned on unnecessarily. That is the challenge everyday but to have a staff of men listening and looking up to you for guidance must feel awesome! More power to you girl!Cheerio... More About: Women , Links , Useful

2008-01-16 23:11:00 I only just found out recently how Abah really loves collecting watches. Actually he not only collect watches but he also collects unique antiques clocks as well, you know the mechanical ones that you have to wind like once a day or something.Hubby is also a collector of some sorts although not as enthusiastic as his father. He has a few dress watches but only one sports watch that he used daily. I think he will definitely love this Technomarine watch that I saw online today. There's a hot discount deal going on. You can get up to 60% discount on the products found at the website. It's so hard to find a gift for hubby sometimes. This might just be it this time.Cheerio... Bad Credit Woes
2008-01-15 20:44:00 I knew of someone who has lived with bad credit. She was young when she made the mistake of overspending on her credit card. She was naive when she did not make it a habit to save while having a permanent position in a big multinational company. She thought the future was in her hands. Then the recession hit and she got laid off and to find another high paying job like the one she got before looked like an impossible feat. She started missing out on her minimum sum monthly and the interest accumulated. The credit card company declared her bankrupt before she was even able to take up any personal loan to furnish her credit card payment. Then she found the perfect site that she was able to use as reference for her problems. This site has listings of all financial institution that offers individuals like herself bad credit loans. She was able able to secure a loan in no time to sustain her life for the time being. She is now fully employed and able to pay off all her liabilities each mo... More About: Credit , Links , Useful

Fibroid Adventure - The Finale
2008-01-14 08:08:00 Continued from Fibroid Adventure Part 2Sunday, 6 January 2008My SIL and Emma came early on Sunday, my third day in the maternity ward of Ampang Puteri Specialist Hospital. Bless her for keeping me company coz I was feeling kind of bored. Dr Fauziah came over on her daily rounds to say that I was recovering very well. She did say something disturbing which was one of my tubes was blocked and it had gone all "crooked". However, that would not create any problems in the future and she said there was nothing she could do about the situation but that should not stopped me from having kids at all. That was a relief to hear. She also told me to move a lot more and that I may be discharge on Monday or Tuesday depending on the blood volume in the bottle. She also told the nurse to remove my drip needle.Emma and her mother left at lunch just as hubs came over so I was with company throughout the day which suits me just fine.********Monday, 7 January 2008I was so confident that I was going to ... One Week Ago...
2008-01-14 04:15:00 It was exactly a week ago, at 9am. I remember hearing the time announcement over at the PA system at Ampang Puteri Specialist Hospital. I was waiting on my bed in the operating waiting area. I was cold as I only had my surgical gown and blanket and I guess I was also shivering from fear. Fear of the unknown.I had a very restless sleep last night even dreaming I was on an elliptical trainer running...right on LJ!..lolzz.. Actually I slept at 4am after hubs left me at the hospital this morning. I was the only habitant of the room and the other three beds were empty. After counting sheeps for the millionth times, I finally dozed off only to be awaken at 5am by the nurses to take my blood pressure and temperature. I was again left all alone after that. As my operation was scheduled for 8.30am or so, I decided to get cleaned up. I took a quick shower and since I was supposed to be fasting, means no breakfast. Not knowing what else to do, I started reading my Quran.I did not even know ... More About: Links , Week , Useful
Fibroid Adventure Part 2
2008-01-14 04:14:00 It ain't Branson hotels, but it was home for three days and I guess I got to make the best of it right? The view from my room....My second day at Ampang Puteri Specialist Hospital Wad 302 on 5th January 2008 started at 5am with the nurses coming over to take my blood pressure and temperature. Next I was given a bath by two young nurses (no wonder men liked to be hospitalised eh?).When they first brought up the bed to a sitting position, I cried out in pain as that was the first time I moved since the operation. I was told that I actually got to move around more to hasten the blood flowing out of my womb and that if I feel any pain, I'm supposed to just press on that magic button and the pain would go away. Now I know..hehehe...Anway, the sponge bath went on for around 15minutes or so. I was asked if I wanted a cup of Milo and I graciously said yes as I had not anything to eat and only plain water to drink for the last 36hours. The nurses left as I sipped on my drink drinking from ... More About: Adventure , Links , Part , Useful
My Fibroid Adventure
2008-01-12 09:56:00 ... continued from One Week Ago...I awoke to a voice calling out my name.. "Puan Seri LJ, Puan Seri LJ! wake up.. it's over. The operation is done. Wake up ya"I felt excruciating pain at my lower abdomen and I started to shake from the pain and the cold. I shivered and voiced out that I was in pain and awfully cold. I remembered hearing Dr Hashim's soothing voice as he put this switch with a button in my left hand and telling me to press the button whenever I feel pain and a nurse telling me it was alright and that she would give me a warm blanket. I pressed the switch and the pain was gone. As a feeling of warmth enveloped me, I fell asleep again. When I woke up, I was already in my room and as I opened my eyes, I saw hubs, mama and my sister in law. I don't know why but I started crying and as hubs slowly caressed my forehead I felt calm again and darkness followed. I was awaken again by Dr Fauziah explaining to me that she had to perform surgery after the laparoscopic procedure... More About: Adventure
Recovering Blogger Part 3
2008-01-11 06:23:00 Taking care of the sick, elderly and even recuperating patient like me is no laughing matter. It is serious business. Imagine missing a medication schedule because you forgot might mean life or death for an individual. I don't mean me though..lolz... I don't think I would die if I miss my antibiotics or painkiller but it might be serious stuff if an asthmatic patient miss her dosage of neubulizer, for instance. So, I am not surprise if some health care givers or institution were to use assisted living software like the one from Eldermark. By the looks of it, it is really a useful software to aid the care giver to remember schedules for example. Plus you can even download the schedules to your pocket pc! All information with you all the time! Awesome!Cheerio... More About: Blogger , Links , Part , Part 3 , Useful
Bosom Tips
2008-01-11 05:55:00 A woman with beautiful bustline always turns head. That's why wonderbras are so famous. I noticed, however, some ladies failed to care for our bosom buddies going bra-less all the time and not doing the recommended pectoral exercises. I also see ladies going jogging without their bra!.. This is an absolute "no-no" unless of course you don't mind them sagging before their time. Don't follow the examples of celebrities and the likes of them. They have all the money in the world to correct minor and even major flaws. We don't! So here are some tips to keep our bust in their tip-top condition. To check if your bra is giving you enough support, slip off the straps - your bra should stay in placeWear a sports bra when exercising, even when on fitness equipment and doing housework, to prevent premature sagging. To prevent or reduce sagging, work your pectoral muscles with 1kg weights five times a week. Hold a weight in each hand. Repeat 15 times on each side. Or stand straight and roll ... 2008-01-11 04:22:00 Here I am again. I told you I can't stay away..lolzz.I am officially off the painkiller effective yesterday. I knew I feel better but I also wanted to know if it was the painkiller that was making me think so. So bye bye painkiller and hello pain...lolzz. To my great relief, the pain is tolerable. There's definitely a bit of soreness where the incision was, and definitely a lot more discomfort because of that but I guess that is to be expected. My mama has done great great in the care home recovery department. Thank you mama. I love you!!And what can I say about my abah? He is a walking encyclopedia. He knows everything. And what he does not know, he'll researched it till he does. When I was first diagnosed with fibroids, he was the one to tell me that there was nothing to worry about and because he himself had gone through surgery before, he was able to relate to what I am experiencing right now and thus able to advise me on what is good for my diet and what to avoid. My 1st Hospital Stay
2008-01-07 18:01:00 In 2 hours time, I would be checking myself into the Ampang Puteri Specialist Hospital for a Laparoscopy procedure or possibly a surgical procedure depending on the size of the fibroids that is growing in my uterus.I was diagnosed with it on my visit to Dr Fawziah's office on 24th December. Looking at the ultrasound screen then, I remembered how scared I was as I could see three big blobs of something foreign in my body. It seems from the last time I had done my pap smear and an ultrasound three years ago (that showed negative results), the fibroid had suddenly emerged this time around to cover almost one third of my womb. So, this would be my first time on a hospital bed. I'm scared as sh*t but trying to keep a cool front for my hubby so that he can remain calm as well.Time to go, will check in again as soon as I can..Cheerio... More About: Stay
The Ultimate Movie Experience
2008-01-07 17:44:00 I love watching movies at home with hubby. It is one of our favorite past time. We don't even go out to the movies now as we enjoyed the luxury of watching the show at our pleasure, wearing t-shirt and shorts or even in our jammies, eating popcorn or anything else we desire. Recently we noticed this beautiful leather home theater seating that would make watching movies at home the ultimate movie experience. Isn't it lovely??! I love the way the seats can recline and the curved shape of the sofa would make it so cozy to snuggle and get closer together especially when watching horror movies. I just love it and am seriously considering getting it for the home. I wonder if it would survive the cats though...hmmmCheerio... More About: Movie , Links , Experience , Ultimate , Useful
The Importance of Insurance
2008-01-07 17:28:00 Wow, you never really realized the importance of insurance till you really one. This is especially true with medical insurance. You see, where I come from, medical insurance is not compulsory so not everyone would get one, including me! Then recently I was admitted to the hospital for removal of fibroids and how I wished I had taken medical insurance coz the surgical and the hospitalization cost was exorbitant, which reminds me I need to get some home insurance quotes for our own apartment. To a Healthy 2008
2008-01-01 16:39:00 I was with friends today for the New Year and though there were good laughs, there were also sad moments when we remembered friends that we have lost along the way due to illness. There was a friend in particular that we lost to heart attack. He was only thirty-nine years old and his wife had just given birth 6 months earlier. It seemed that he had signs of a heart attack in a way of a numb arm the night before he passed on but he simply dismissed it as he had an important meeting the next day.He passed away in a mosque while performing his afternoon prayer that day.
