Now that Woman's Power
2007-12-29 08:39:00 I chanced upon this website Diablo Green Consulting - a site that does enviromental site assessement. I'll get to that bit later but what I was proud of, was the fact that this company is a woman owned Californian corporation. I mean women nowadays are so great. I would have thought this kind of services are all done by men and although I think it is very much men-dominated, to have women owned such a company is cause of pride to any kind :-)Anyway back to the what the company does. Like I mentioned above, Diablo Green Consulting (DGC) provides clients who have commercial property transaction and wireless tower projects in enviromental consulting services for Phase I, NEPA, CEQA, wetland delineation, natural resource management, and cultural resource management.According to the site, their Phase I Environmental Site Assessment services includes:A Phase I ESA report compliant with ASTM Standard E 1527High-quality color report (2 printed and bound color copies)A link to download the f... It's a New Year
2007-12-28 19:25:00 It's a new year ladies. Time to reflect back on 2007 and time to check on last year's resolution. Me? Personally I don't believe in resolutions coz I always end up not finishing them and what's the point of doing one or a few each new year only to bring it forward to the next one. So my resolution every new year is not to have a resolution. Does that sound silly? Well it works for me!Happy New Year ladies!!
Career Options
2007-12-28 07:08:00 When I was growing up and wanted to be lots of things, I remembered the one facination I had was in the medical line. I wanted to be a surgeon, I wanted to be a obgyn, I wanted to be a dentist and I wanted to be a nurse. Then after finishing my secondary school in the science stream, I wised up and knew my academic limitations, I thought, well being a nurse is not too bad either. But as fate has it, even that did not materialise as it was nipped in the bud by mommy dearest. However, if you are looking into medical assistant programs in hopes of getting a job in the medical assistant careers, which I still believe to be an honourable job, do I have the website for you to check out. Aptly called "Medical Assistant Training School", the website features school and medical assistant training programs that are available in your state giving you the most up-to-date information on the schools and their certification information. The website also carries featured articles to help you und... Lose weight or else
2007-12-25 14:33:00 I was over at my gynae yesterday for my yearly checkup, you know woman stuff, pap smear and the works. What I dislike about going to this gynae of mine is that she is also a OBGYN which means she has lots of pregnant ladies going to her as well which literally means even if you have an appointment you'll have to wait like a long time before she actually sees you. You know coz pregnant ladies normally have lots of procedure right like ultra scan, blood pressure test so on and so forth.Basically what I am getting at is I usually have lots of time to mingle with the other patient. One patient that I was talking too yesterday really had a scary story to tell. In 2004 she was diagnosed with ovarian cyst which I know is a common thing with ladies - I had one too but it went out with my monthly cycle once. Anyway hers obviously did not although according to her pain went away after her next cycle. However, recently the pain came back and after visiting another gynae she was told that the ... Making Up Car
2007-12-22 09:07:00 I may be a woman but I enjoy looking at nice cars. Now you many wonder why I say this. Well - because to a lot of women, a car is only a mode of transportation, getting them from point A to point B. To be honest, I was one of those women hence the oh so experienced statement, but all changed as I watched more and more "hot-rod" show with hubby and started to appreciate the finer "art" of making a car beautiful. Having said that, I have to say that although now I am a changed women in the appreciating department, I still say it is not a priority in my books. I don't mind if there's plenty of money to spare but it does come at the end of the "food-chain". Body shop supplies are expensive you know. And.. if you got to do, do it right the first time. Do it at a reputable mechanic who knows what he is talking about and please don't just cut the suspension spring coz you want your car "lowered". It ain't worthit if you have to keep going at an angle at every road bump you encountered.... More About: Links , Useful
What? Move?
2007-12-22 08:32:00 This is me everytime I hear we are moving. You must understand, when I was growing up, we stayed put at one location for twenty years. That's twenty years of my life NOT moving house. Now over a span of seven years (that's how long we've been married), we've moved house three times! That might not seemed a lot to you but it was and still is to me. That is why companies like Shleppers, a New York Moving Company is a great help and a necessity to us. Do you know that the last time we moved, we had to use a two ton lorry, you know the container type! Even the security officers at our current location was surprised and ask where on earth we were going to put all the stuff!...lolzz.However, with each move, I'm wiser and smarter in packing area. I guess it's true what they way about practise makes perfect.....heheheCheerio... More About: Links , Move , Useful

Oprah and Such
2007-12-20 00:32:00 I've always been facinated with Oprah Winfrey. I salute her humanitarian nature and her ability to get things done. Not many celebrities are able to do that despite being in the limelight and in a more influential position than most people. So I decided to do some research on her at Spock to see what else she has done so far in her life.Spock, in case, you don't already know, is a free people and information search engine. It lets you search individual based on tags, individual information and even personal characteristic like curly hair or blindness!Anyway here are some information I found about Oprah on Spock:Oprah Gail Winfrey (born January 29, 1954) is the American multiple-Emmy Award winning host of "The Oprah Winfrey Show", the highest rated talk show in television history. She is also an influential book critic, an Academy Award-nominated actress, and a magazine publisher. 'Tis The Season.. to wear Jewelry
2007-12-15 06:11:00 I don't really like to wear jewelry, which really amazes my mom by the way. My basic pieces daily are just my chain with pendant and my wedding ring. However, I do wear some extra pieces when I attend special functions like weddings or high profile dinners and I do have a selection of nice pieces that I used for different kind of clothes as well. That is why I love to window shop for jewelery. You never know when a special piece might just beckons you to it and that is also why I love this website that just found recently. At Jewel Elegance, I can "window shop" all I want without having some snoopy salesgirl asking what piece I was interested in - don't you just hate those kinds. Here at the website, they carry a variety of beautiful pieces from women's, kid's to even men's jewelry. I just love this diamond ring. It is so unique it will look great with the rest of my collection. Hmm.. wonder if I should get it...Cheerio... More About: Jewelry , Links , Season , Vanity , Wear

As 52nd week approaches...
2007-12-12 20:18:00 Time sure flies. I remember January like it was yesterday and in fact the fireworks during that countdown is still fresh in my memory. Yet, here's December and that 52nd week is fast approaching again. Looking back, sometimes I wonder what I would do differently, how much more or less things I would have done. Would I have proscatinated doing things that I could have done then and still have not done now? Hmm..As the year draws to a close, do you sometimes feel that there is more to do so that you have a fresh start next year? Do you suddenly see your to-do's list accumulating just so you can have it done before 2007 leaves us and 2008 makes an appearance?I know that my list has been adding on since last month. Time for more shopping...
2007-12-08 16:34:00 The end of the year is coming and that means for ladies, it's more shopping. Whether you celebrate Christmas or not, like me, it is always a good excuse for more money spending as this is the time when you get the best offer as everything is going on sale or deep discounts! This time around, I'm eyeing for myself a laptop and since there is a PC Fair going on in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia held at the Convension Center, I'm off to window shop and if something fits my criteria and budget then today would be day I own a new laptop. Yahoo!!..Feeling of anticipation washed over me at the thought of seeing new PCs out in the market and possibly finding that dream laptop of mine at dropped down dead prices.I'm very picky when it comes to laptop. Bathroom Fight
2007-12-05 10:16:00 We knew of this girl once (she was living with us at the time) that spent, like what seemed to be an eternity, in the bathroom. She is such a small and petite girl that I sometimes wonder what she does in there. I remembered how I would knocked on the door just to check if she was alright. You never can tell if one of the plumbing fixtures swallowed her up or something..lolSeriously though, it became such a problem that she was allowed to use the bathroom only after everyone else had used it (we only had one bathroom at that time) and if she had a date of or something, we had to remind her to get ready early so that we don't have to end up entertaining her date! She had since moved out and we had since moved to another house, with two bathroom this time. This might be the ONE!
2007-12-05 10:05:00 Searching for the perfect exercise machine for me is never easy. The activity must be fun. The activity must be easy and most importantly, the activity must show me results. Otherwise I bore easily and will find excuses to NOT use it after a few rounds. Call it lack of disclipine, call it lack of motivation. It's just ME!So hubby suggested I look into the elliptical trainer which is basically a stationary exercise machine like the treadmill that I can walk on or run on without ever leaving the house. I could even do it while watching my favourite afternoon soap opera, The Bold and The Beautiful. Now, that's a suggestion I like!!Cheerio...
Hannah Who?
2007-12-05 06:39:00 I don't subscribe to the Disney Channel on Astro as we have no kids at home and if you think about cartoons and discovery channel...hmmm I think you know which one we chose. However, my MIL has Disney Channel as one of her subscribed channel simply because it keep the grandchildren occupied while she cooks or does her craft work.So one day, while Emma was at my MIL's watching the channel, I sat with her. She was watching "Hannah Montana". A show about a girl who lives a double life as an average teenage girl at school during the day and a famous pop singer, Hannah Montana, at night. Her real identity is concealed by the public and only her close friends and family know who she really is. I always thought Disney Channel were for cartoons.. duh!.. This is a very fun show to watch and I only discovered that the show is doing a US tour. So if you are a fan, make sure you get your Hannah Montana tickets soon before they are all sold out.How I wished they were touring here then I can ...
I love "Fast"
2007-12-05 06:33:00 Just recently, my niece commented on how fast I talk. I've been told that before many times but when a little girl of eight claimed that sometimes she does not understand what I'm saying. Now, I feel, that is cause for worry. Then, we were out for dinner last night celebrating my in-laws anniversary and again she commented that I eat fast, how I chew fast and even how I drink fast. How do I explained to this girl that it's all normal to me? Her's an excerpt of the conversation.Emma : Mak Chak, why do you eat so fast?Mak Chak : Coz I'm hungryEmma : Mak Chak, why do you drink so fast?Mak Chak : Coz I'm thirstyEmma : Mak Chak, why do you talk so fast?Mak Chak : Coz I've got lots to say and I'm afraid that if I speak slow, the conversation would be too longEmma : Mak Chak, what do you do that is not fast?Mak Chak : When I poo!Emma : Yucks!!!!(PS: Emma is my niece, Mak Chak is me, literally meaning, eldest aunt)I honesty do talk too fast, but what can I say, I... I Need Water!
2007-12-05 05:33:00 If you read my other blog, you know that I've been experiencing some water issues with my condo unit. It's been twice now in a span of two months, one early in November and the other one happened just yesterday, that there was no water supply in the block. Since the apartment unit is not being provided with individual water tank, our main supply come from the main tank up on the roof, literally meaning if something does awry up up there, we are screwed down here. The first "water-less" incident lasted close to forty eight hours. We had to pack up the bag and camped out at my hubby's office while last night the incident only lasted a little over four hours. Now, you have to understand, the country where I come from, this is a non-issue. Even if there was some form of maintenance going on, the residents would be duly notified so we were always prepared. So this is a BIG problem for me. I'm just not used to this. The last two houses that we lived had water supplied from direct and t... More About: Water
'Tis the Season to be Giving
2007-12-02 20:02:00 The end of the year is nearing and with the Christmas dawning upon us, a lot of people are giving away old stuff to make space for the new. Just yesterday, I saw my neighbor's new sofa being delivered and the day before another neighbor was giving away her bedroom set before her new one arrived. I hope she was donating it to an charity organization rather than just throwing it away somewhere.Speaking of donations, have you ever considered giving away your car as donation. I remembered just a few years ago we had a very old car that we sent away for scraping as no one wanted it. It was still running and with some overhauling, it would still have ran well but since no car agent wanted it, we just sent it to the scrapyard. If only I knew at that time of this organization called Car Angel (www.carangel.com), a non-profit company that uses car and other donations to make videos for kids and teens, I could have given it to them as part of their car donations program. They have given a... More About: Links , Season , Giving , Useful
Me and My Soap Opera
2007-12-02 17:18:00 I don't know about you ladies, but I used to love watching soap opera. From English shows like "The Bold & the Beautiful" and "Days of our Life", to Colombian ones like "Mistress Hermanas" and "Ugly Betty", I thrive on watching them every time at the same hour over and over again daily. I don't speak Spanish but the subtitle service provided by Astro, our local cable television provider here, is sufficient to make me addicted enough and glued to my sofa every day. There was a point in my life where my schedule would revolved around the show's timing and that would drive my hubby crazy because I would be rushing to get home when we are out together. Now, as I get older and wiser (ahem, ahem), I no longer put myself through that ordeal. The only show I watch nowadays is The Bold and the Beautiful and if I do missed an episode, there's always that episode recap online :)Cheerio... More About: Opera , Links , Soap , Useful
Want to look good in pictures??
2007-12-01 16:10:00 I just love this tip that I found while surfing today and if you want to look great in pictures, you might just want to give it a try :-)If you want to look amazing in every photo you take, here are a few simple ways to achieve some great results. First, you should gently stretch and extend yourself (think thin and tall) which will give you a perfect posture. Next, you should keep your chin up a bit (not too high!) to avoid any double chin problems. Lastly, try to place one leg behind the other, as if in mid-walk. This is how the red carpet photos are taken for celebrities and it makes any person's body look slimmer instantly!Cheerio... More About: Pictures , Beauty , Vanity , Good

Beating the Addiction
2007-11-27 07:47:00 I noticed nowadays that there are a lot more women smokers amongst us. Where before, my generation that is, none of my girlfriends smoke, I am having more younger girlfriends lighting up after a meal. Personally I have nothing against smokers, my late father smoked and my husband still smokes. The real concern for us women is, I guess, when we are either getting trying to get pregnant or is already pregnant. I read somewhere that...It's thought nicotine reduces a woman's fertility by affecting the production of hormones that are necessary for pregnancy. Smoking also impedes the transportation of the egg through the Fallopian tubes to the womb.andIn later pregnancy, smoking mothers are at increased risk of the baby's placenta coming away from the womb before the baby is born (placental abruption). This may cause the baby to be born prematurely, starve of oxygen, or even to die in the womb (stillborn). There are plenty of ways to stop. Unfortunately there is none like a drug rehabili... Reading Star
2007-11-26 20:49:00 Do you belive in your horoscope? I have mixed feelings about this issue. When I was younger, I religiously read my zodiac horoscope daily. Although most of them were not true, being a gullible and impresionable girl of nine or ten, that was the closest to adult life I can get to. I only really stop reading when I was a teenage when life really got interesting and who really needs horoscope to predict anything anything because at that time, I was king of my destiny. And now, as I approach the big 40, and wiser, I hope, zodiac reading is merely a fun stuff to pass time. My reading today though did say to be cautious with money so I guess I'll not take up that cash advance offer I got in the mail today eh?Cheerio... More articles from this author:2007-11-26 20:30:00 Part of being a great life partner is to share activities together. If before marriage, you love to hang out with him fishing, the kids should not be an excuse to not go with him anymore. If before marriage, you share his passion in cars, why should that stop after marriage. If you don't know what he is talking about when he refers to a certain terminology like Chrysler 300 accessories, shouldn't you make an effort to find out?
