Superbowl Sunday
2007-02-04 17:23:00 I cleaned all day yesterday and went to the grocery store at 9 pm. I have invited some old friends over to watch the game with John and me. Luke is even off work and he likes these people too. I did way too much and now I'm paying for it. My feet and knees and legs are hurting bad. I still have to make my famous French Silk Pie and some other things. I'm looking forward to tonight but I sure wish I wasn't in pain.John starts another temp job. It is in downtown Chicago and the temperature is supposed to be in the -10 range with wind chills in the -20 range. We took a practice trip downtown on Thursday because John hadn't really had any experience riding mass transportation. It was fun but cold. On Friday I made him buy a hat that covered his ears and a scarf so he would be protected somewhat from the cold. He asked me why I didn't ask for something to warm his private parts!!! If only I had thought of it! Hee hee.My second paper for my class was better than the first. Yet my gra... More About: Super , Sunday , Superbowl , Bowl
Gratitude Tuesday-The Letter D
2007-01-30 15:29:00 I think the letter D must be a good letter. You know, some letters are hard like X or Q. Why do you think they left them off the phone keys at one time? But I think I'm going to have lots of fun with the letter D.Dogs-just last weekend I told John about my long history with dogs. I have taken 5 to obedience training and got 3 second place ribbons. My current puppy, Zeke, did so well that I took him to novice obedience. We never graduated because it was scheduled for 2 days after 9-11. My first golden actually gave me the confidence to be a mom. I figured that if I could love a dog that much then I certainly could love a kid that much. Unfortunately, dogs are easier to train! *snicker*Doctors-I have some really good ones and I am grateful that they work with me.Doors-open to all sorts of opportunities.Dairy foods-I can't live without them--cheese, ice cream, butter--YUM!Driving-Paul reminded me that it is hard to give up the privledge. Diamonds--I don't wear them but I love them!D... More About: Letter , Gratitude , Tuesday
Millienial Changes
2007-01-29 17:27:00 I was at church yesterday when a woman sat in front of me. I was in a small group with her briefly that met at her and her husband's home. They moved out of state and just moved back. I was very glad to see her. The service was still going on so we only chatted briefly. She asked me how I was doing and I said terrific. But I got to thinking about my life. Since the year 2000, my life has changed radically. Nothing looks the same. I am feeling reflective and decided to review the new century.2000I finished up working part time for a magazine printer. I did DAILY payroll. It was a hassle and a headache. It was a happy day when I quit.In April, I flew to California and checked myself into an eating disorder treatment center. My insurance company would only pay for 10 days. It was there that I realized that my emotional issues with eating are resolved. They diagnosed me with depression and I have been on meds ever since. In May, the woman from church got me an interview with a local temp...
