How Thanksgiving Became the National Day of Mourning for the Wampanoag Nati
2007-11-08 11:20:00
When I was young, it was ok for people to celebrate the myth of Thanksgiving as it had been told to us for hundreds of years. The Pilgrims landed on Plymouth rock and were met by some very friendly “Indians”. These Indians quickly became friends with the Pilgrims. In a way of celebrating both the Pilgrim/Indian friendship and the wonderful harvest that the Pilgrims and the Indians worked together to cultivate…Thanksgiving was born. Now as time goes on and the country becomes more and more politically correct we can see that the story behind Thanksgiving was based mostly on mythology and it has gone through great changes. This is, in part, due to the Wampanog tribe of Native Americans but more specifically a man named Frank B. James, the one time leader of the Wampanog tribe.

Remember the puzzle game Simon ? This game will test your memory, and, ultimately, your sanity. The object of the game is to memorize Simon’s sequence of lights. Simon’s a computer, Simon has a brain, you either do what Simon says or else go down the drain. The Simon game unit has four large buttons, one each of the colors red, blue, green, and yellow. Simon lights these buttons in a sequence, playing a tone for each button; the player must press the buttons in the same sequence. The sequence begins with a single button chosen randomly, and adds another randomly-chosen button to the end of the sequence each time the player follows it successfully. Game play ends when the player makes a mistake or when the player wins.

Couple Beers No Beers WBCN?s Chili Guy
2007-11-03 05:46:00
Couple Beers No Beers The Toucher and Rich show does drunken Red Sox recaps after most Sox home games and just interview the drunkest people they see about the game they saw the night before. At first they interviewed this guy and they thought he was a drunk guy at the game but a few months later they found out he was a homeless guy. He says some crazy things and the show has given back to him, always giving him food, gift cards and kind of take care of him. He is hilarious though. For those of you around Boston that listen to WBCN will probably know who the Chili Guy is for the rest of you check out this soundboard for this guy, he is hilarious.

Shaw Farm Is The Last Of It?s Kind In Greater Lowell
2007-11-03 05:10:00
Located in Dracut Massachusetts, Shaw Farm is the only operating dairy farm still around in the Greater Lowell area. You can be sure that when you visit Shaw Farm for your dairy needs you are purchasing fresh milk from a dairy farm on a very, very short list of dairy farms in still operating in New England today. But how fresh is fresh? When you are talking Shaw Farm fresh, it means that the milk that you are buying in the afternoon more than likely came from the cow that very morning. You can’t ask for fresher milk than that. So what makes Shaw Farm so special?

Boston Sports Commercial Debuts During World Series
2007-10-30 13:03:00
Mayor Menino was the only non-athlete with the exception of the narrator, Dorchester native Donnie Wahlberg appearing in a 30-second advertisement for local footwear maker Reebok. The company lined up star power endorsers including David Ortiz, Bruin great Bobby Orr, former Boston College and Patriots quarterback Doug Flutie, and Patriots running back Laurence Maroney. The ad, hastily produced by Reebok staff last week without benefit of an advertising agency, flashed photos of the city and its athletes, as Wahlberg asked: “What do they all have in common? They all play right here, and they all wear . . .” He doesn’t finish the sentence; the word Reebok appears across the screen. Flutie says, “This is Reebok Nation.”

Pac-Man, the quintessential retro arcade game. Originally created by Namco in the early 1980s and has now been updated for the web by Neave. If you eat a Power Pill, you can eat the ghosts! Occasionally, a fruit appears which gives you a bonus score when eaten. Featuring High Scores! Use your arrow keys to move the Pac-Man. It?s Always Sunny In Philadelphia: Day Man Lyrics
2007-10-22 22:59:00
I have been watching every episode of It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia Season Three and by far the funniest episode yet is: Sweet Dee’s Dating A Retarded Person. It’s not because of the so obvious storyline…anytime a person could possibly be dating a retarded person and not know is pretty entertaining. But even funnier than that was the B storyline where the smash hit Day Man by Charlie Kelly and Dennis Reynolds was created. It wasn’t easy but I got my hands on the Day Man Lyrics (ok, I actually just watched the clip and wrote them out for you…so what).

2007-10-20 06:32:00
So the rains have poured a decent amount over sometime. While you remained dry in the comfort of your home, you might not have noticed that one part of your house isn?t as dry as you - the basement. Older and unmaintained homes may have a problem with water getting into the basement leaving it flooded. So now you want to reclaim your basement from floodwater? Here?s how. Make sure that the floodwater has been clear outside. It is often futile to try to empty your basement of floodwater when there?s still flooding outside. The water might just seep back in.

Carving A Pumpkin Into A Jack-O-Lantern
2007-10-20 06:21:00
With Halloween approaching it is time, once again, to think about pumpkin carving. Carving a pumpkin into a Jack -o-lantern has been a tradition ever since the first Halloweens way back when. In this day and age carving a pumpkin into a Jack-o-lantern is done for decorative purposes. But that wasn’t always the case. It used to be that carved pumpkins with a candles inside, known as a Jack-o-lanterns, were set out on porches and in house windows on Halloween as a sign of welcome to the deceased souls of loved ones. But what is the best way to carve a pumpkin? (more…)

Brain Eating Bug in Lakes Kills Swimmers. Read Which Lakes to Avoid
2007-10-01 16:58:00
An amoeba called Naegleria Fowleri living in warm lakes this summer enters the body through the nose and attacks the brain where it feeds on your brain until you die. Even though encounters with the microscopic bug are extraordinarily rare, it has killed six boys and young men this year. The spike in cases has health officials concerned, and they are predicting more cases in the future. “This is definitely something we need to track,” said Michael Beach, a specialist in recreational waterborne illnesses for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. “This is a heat-loving amoeba. As water temperatures go up, it does better,” Beach said. “In future decades, as temperatures rise, we’d expect to see more cases.”

Cymbalta which was originally prescribed to patients suffering from depression and has recently been approved for patients suffering diabetic neuropathy has SEVERE withdrawal side effects which aren’t being disclosed by Eli Lilly. These Cymbalta withdrawal side effects are not being disclosed to patients prior to them starting Cymbalta due to what seems to be lack of information. How do I know? Because I personally experienced Cymbalta withdrawal symptoms. Because of this I had posted an article on my site called Cymbalta Withdrawal Symptoms Suck. I wrote the article just as a way to vent my frustration. brain zaps, cymbalta, eli lilly, Health, withdrawal symptoms

Read My Lips No New Taxes
2007-09-15 12:58:00
Read my lips: no new taxes” was a famous pledge made by Republican Presidential candidate George H. W. Bush at the 1988 Republican National Convention in his acceptance speech on August 18. Written by speechwriter Peggy Noonan, the line was one of the most prominent sound bites from the speech. The no tax pledge had been a consistent part of Bush’s 1988 election platform, but its prominent inclusion in his speech cemented it in the public consciousness. The impact of the pledge was considerable, and many believe it helped Bush win the 1988 United States presidential election. peggy noonan, Presidential Race, president bush, president bush lied, read my lips, tax pledge
