These are my relatives from my mom’s side. We just had our dinner from Banana Leaf and decided to catch some breeze in SMB by the bay. Though the oldies immediately settled themselves with cold bottles of beer and acoustic sounds, the youngsters are dying to party. Minutes later, we parted ways and guess which group I got stuck with? Have you been to Malate lately?

What to Wear ?Originally uploaded by daniellaveronicaLike I've said, dani loves to waltz around wearing her "Dress for the Day". In this photo, she chose to wear the green stripe dress as her purple gown is temporarily missing (it was used to get her size for the gown she'll wear for tomorrow's wedding). Hopefully later today we’ll be able to buy a decent (not so formal) dress she’ll wear on her birthday. Will probably check Rustans and SM, where we often find somebest buys.Note to self: Get some envelopes for the invites :D

We had a small despedida for my brother who's leaving the next day to chicago to work. Initially he'll be deployed there for six months. I just got an email from him, he's all settled now after his safe trip. He'll come back after three months daw, so we probably won't miss him that much heheBro, I heard it's windy in chicago. A day for Mothers - A Celebration

Yesterday, Dani's back to her own self and I seem to be feeling a little better myself. What's the magic word?SM.Once hubby mentioned the magic word, it seemed like a dark cloud has lifted. Exag. We were off with a good start. Dani and I were able to do our morning weekend walk. She sang while I push her bike. She sang as we were on the swing. She even insisted she walk some part on our way back home.We were able to buy a gift for the baptism we'll be attending this saturday. I was able to find our family outfit for dani's birthday.We had our lunch at Max's, hubby's treat for yours truly. Dani ate a little of pancit canton and sipped some chicken soup. Some is better than none.If not for the expenses we've incurred, i could say:Some days are good bad. Some days are better.Happy Mother's Day!

A day for Mothers - A Rant

I am a mother. Tomorrow is a day for women like me but I feel like I don't deserve this particular special day. I am in one of my worse state since thursday night. Took the day off and spent our morning at my parents house. Dani, being her clingy self, was getting to me. If someone wants her right there and then, I might just give her away like a rejected puppy. She is not a puppy, I know. I am her mother and yes, I wish I could take care of her better. We've been having food issues for months now, my child rarely eats solids so her health heavily relies on formula and vitamin supplements. She throws tantrums especially when I'm around. Hearing my dad tell my tita she's spoiled didn't help either. I try my damnest to listen to dani but I just don't like to hear her constantly whining. Ang sakit sa tenga.Frustrated.

My cousin, Yeng arrived last week with my loot :D  This is where I spent my recent online earnings :D  Buti na lang nahabol ko pa kay pinsan.  If I can use my credit card, malamang madami-dami pa kong mabibili :)  I immediately checked their tags and found out iba-ibang country sila ginawa.  May india, may vietnam pero walang pinas.  I find the red canvass shoes to be more comfortable than the brown one.   Mas malambot pa rin talaga ang Havaianas kesa sa brown flipflops ko pero ok lang, mas mura naman kasi sya :)  Yung dalawang shorts ni dani, kahit pang 4yo na ang size medyo maliit pa rin.  Masusuot nya lang yung either pag hindi na sya nagda-diapers or pag pumayat sya ;p Yung blouses naman nya, malaki pa sa knya pero yung isa kasya na rin.  Thanks julie sa advise, sakto lang ang medium kay hubby!

I know I should be sleeping by now but I don't know when I'll get the chance to watch this film. I managed to score a vcd copy for P75. I can't seem to remember the details of the movie except from what i've read before. I do recall though that I and my siblings rave about it as one of our faves during our single years. Will post more about it later ;)

It's in sepia, as most of you would have guessed. I sometimes laugh at my parent's church kiss because my dad kissed my mom with her veil still covering the upper half of her face :p talk about "can't wait to finally kiss my bride" hehe Because of that photo, during our wedding preps I constantly remind hubby to arrange my veil first before the kiss ;)Anyways, my parents have their fare share of domestic disturbance and newlywed moments. Sometimes, when I catch a glimpse of the love they share for each other, it gives me hope that love can endure all.

Last Saturday morning, nagtext ang aking ina at nagpapatawag. Nang makausap ko sya, niyaya nya kaming umuwi sa Pampanga kasi piyesta. Somewhere in NLEX, we had a short stop, eat lunch at Chowking and drinks at Starbucks (coupons from hubby). So upon our arrival at Masantol, I heard my mom talking about a bangka waiting for us. It was then that I realized that we are actually going to the bukid, far from the bayan I was expecting.My initial reaction was fear, not for the thought of me facing my relatives and them saying "Ang taba mo" (ha!) but fear for dani since it'll be her first time on a boat, not just a boat but a small bangka :p Idagdag mo pa ang asawang kong hindi gaanong marunong lumangoy. Hubby fillin it up, seemed like its almost half full alreadyI am so lovin' this upgrade!I can just swim here all day..Or maybe not :D I'm so tired after all that swimming I dozed off for three hours!* * *As promised, friday night before heading home, we passed by glorietta and bought this kiddie pool together with a decent pump. This morning, the weather can't seem to decide if it wants to be sunny or rainy. Thankfully, we had a bit of sunshine about 10am and that's when all of this happened. It was really nice seeing dani all happy with her new pool. I wish she had her cousins with her though and I bet it would have been fun times three.Well that's about it, our happy weekend :D I hope you had a great one also!* * *BTW, sinama ko nga pala si dani sa office namin nung saturday. we watched dora while waiting for hubby, saka kami pumunta ng glorietta to buy the kiddie pool :D then we went to visit gabe and zach :D it was really nice to see them again..

Yey, I'm swimming today!Got to get to work and fill that pool asap :DCheckin' the water's temperature..Just perfect! Time to cool off that summer heat ;)***Took this photo last wednesday when I was on leave. Dani doesn't have an inflatable pool yet so we made do with our trusty palanggana. So I've read from abie's blog that Grissom and Sarah are engaged! :D I'm currently listening to Across the Universe OST and like my sister, I love Jim Sturgess more specifically his voice singing Beatles. Pardon the murky water, I just wanted to announce that the school is now composed of six fishes. We bought the additional four for P100 this afternoon. We went to SM Dasma to buy some groceries, of which must include Dani's Moo drinks. It will also serve as our meeting place with my Mom. As always, whenever we pass by Petsborough, we'll stop a bit and look at whatever animals are on display. Upon seeing the buy 4 for P100 promo for the goldfish, hubby suggested we buy additional pets. We also decided to get some lighting also and ended up cashing out P460+Not sure how long our pets will survive the next time we evacuate the house.~~Do you think fishes have commodity brokers?

The other night, I was torn between buying Red Ribbon's Mango Cream Pie and Banofee Pie. I ended up with the former leaving me craving for the latter.With the little girl asleep, I thought I might just try to make my own. Normally, I would have used graham crackers for base but I'm out of stock. I remember buying a small pouch of Quacker oats flavored with Banana and Honey. I took out the butter and left it to melt at room temperature. Meanwhile, I put a box of Nestle easy whip cream inside the freezer. A couple of minutes after, I mixed the oats with butter and a little bit of hershey's liquid chocolate and laid it in a 6" bowl. In a separate bowl, with my magic white manual plastic whisker, I whipped the cream with sugar and a dash of instant coffee. After thinly slicing one piece of latundan banana, I began to layer cream first then bananas then cream then bananas, lastly, with the cream on top. Drafted March 20: Bought the DVD a couple of days ago for only P150. I was actually torn between this or Peter Pan. Thinking I need a doze of romance, I bought this one instead. Fortunately, I got to watch it again today for the nth time. ~~I used to not get british humor. I still do sometimes but I try not to try too hard to get it as I might get a nose bleed in the process hihi anyways, getting sidetrack here.. my point is, what I really love about this movie is the various situations one can get caught up with in love. love, the romantic kind, does not choose what age, status, gender or language, when it hits you, it hits you.
