Old Friend

This is another very late post. :PMy best friend came to visit me on 30 August. (It's that long liao!) 2 other friends (ex-classmates) were supposed to come to but didn't make it in the end. Aww, I was a little disappointed but there's always a next time.I had prepared a couple of little gifts for my friend. Ai ya, you know lah, people like me who don't work got no money to buy gifts. So mine are hand-made (from recycled stuff!) :P Yeah, I unpicked an old bag I did long ago which I no longer use, washed the thread (so it's not like badly permed hair LOL), dried it and reused it. If you recall this, they are from the same family. ;) I had some left over clothes pegs and suction cups from ??'s Teachers' Day's gift, so I did some Memo Clips too. I haven't been updating this blog for a looooong time. For the past few months, I have been very upset. Mainly with ??. He has been giving my a lot of problems at home as well as in school.I didn't want to remember all the bad things and hence I just blog about it. The old me or the young me?

I uploaded some of my old family photo, which we were teenagers , in Facebook and my cousins asked if I could find photos when we were babies. I promised I'll go back home to check with my father.My father was a news photographer (till he retired recently). He took lots of photos of the family and developed the photos himself at home (he has the machine). My cousins were always at my place as they were all being taken cared by my grandmother who was staying with us. My mother said out house was full of children that time. So I guess I had the most collection of everyone compared them. :)The kids and I went back last Saturday and yeah, I remembered my "mission". While looking at really old photos which had my aunts before they were married, I stumbled upon this photo of me! Hehehe ... Ah! The PAP uniform were so much nicer then (but no the hair!). Sneak preview of ??'s Teachers' Day gift.They are made from pipe cleaners, those you use to tie your plants during Chinese New Year. They are not quite completed yet as we are planning to wire them to suction cups so they can be 'stick on'. I'm sure we still have time to finish it. Hopefully, the teachers can recognize what we did :P??'s gift is easier. She will be making these flowers for her teachers. I think they are rather cute especially with the bells.So have you decided what to make for Teachers' Day?

Yesterday, I was chatting with my friend who is new to blogging and she asked me why I never visit her blog. I was like ... huh? I asked her how she know if I haven't visited her. Her answer was 'my face never show'.She was referring to MyBlogLog. How I can forget since I was the one who showed her how to setup her blog. :PMy answer to her was ... I'm a lazy person. I never bother to login to MyBlogLog (unless someone send me a message and I had to reply). So when I go blog hopping, my face won't show up in the visitor widget. And I seldom leave my remarks too. :P**Oei friend,I, not 'hao-lian' okay. I just don't want people to feel oblige to visit me because I visited them mah. I prefer to be a lurker mah. Last month, when I met up with an overseas friend, I bought little gifts for her daughters as well as the girls of some of the mommies she was planning to meet when she went to Malaysia. Thanks for carrying the whole load to Malaysia yah. :PThe other day, we were 'talking' about her gathering in Malaysia, she mentioned that we should take a photo of the girls with the bag, so here's mine. ;) Told you she bought it to school. whahaha ...Took this (and the first pic) before the kids left for school this morning. First time ?? looks so much 'bigger' than ?? in photo. :P Eat more lah. If not ?? is going to catch up liao lah.

Remember I mentioned sometime back that the kids will be in the Sharp Air Purifier Catalogue?We received it last week and yeah, the kids is one of the pages (page 11) as well as on the cover too. ;) I am surprised they used this picture as this wasn't one of the better ones. Oh well. Not up to me to decide which one they use.I'm now waiting for the soft copies from my sister. :)

Head Broken Blood Flows

I was 4 steps away from landing myself in the hospital 2 days ago with a broken head and multiple cuts. Scary!I was washing up after dinner and suddenly thought of something and at the same time ?? was screaming for me to help her. I dried my hands and walked away from the sink. The next thing I heard was a loud crash followed by scattering sound. I just froze on the spot. The kids came running to me asking me what had happened. I turned around and saw the kitchen floor covered with scattered glasses and broken melamine. At a corner was my dish rack.The plastic holder for the dish rack had broke and the dish rack which became 'three-legged' was unbalanced and flipped . Came falling were all the dishes and bowls I had just left for drying. *cold sweat*Thank God, the kids were not in the kitchen when this happened. Santa came early

?? went to Shanghai to work for a few days. We seldom get calls from him as his schedule there was very tight and was always on the move visiting factories. I didn't expect him to get us anything but look what he bought for us?!I got a watch with changeable straps and a 3-in-1 crystal bracelet (the crystals are removable). The kids got 3 boxes of Chinese VCDs (smart choice ?? cos it's more difficult to get educational Chinese VCDs here). ?? said he wished he could get the whole set back as they were very cheap (S$6 - S$8 for a box set). It was too heavy and too much for him to carry. He also bought 2 sets for IQ toys for the kids which I'm hooked on too!Thank you ?? for all the presents. I knew you didn't have the time to shop buy still you managed to get all these wonderful gifts for us. We like them a lot. Thank you so much!

One or Two of a kind

This is part of what was I busy with. My plan was to make 2 pouches (shown below with stuffed felt donuts on the zipper) for 2 overseas friends that I will be meeting this coming Saturday. I sort of got hooked and continued making more but this time, I made purse instead. They were circle in shape. I didn't take pictures of it as my camera was with my hubby. I gave those away before he reach home from Shanghai.I had some thread left so I decided to make another pouch for myself too but changed my mind and made a purse instead. I still have another piece of the complete crochet square left. I might just add on the purse and turn it to something else later. But for now, it's a purse for me. ;)So friends who received stuff from me, consider it an earlier Christmas present. But you might still get another one if I have the time to make some other stuff end of the year. ;)Hope you gals like it cos my needlework is not that fantastic. Hmmm ... I'm hoping for a sewing machine for Christ...

I haven't been updating any of my blogs lately because I was used the time meant for blogging to do some handicraft. I was so hooked on it (haven't been doing any for more than a year!), I continued making after my initial plan to make 2 only.Will show you some of my completed work in my next post. My hubby took the camera with him to Shanghai for work, so I was not able to take a picture of all that I have done. By the time he returned, which was 1 am today, I had already gave most of them away.Meanwhile, enjoy this short video of ?? answering some Maths sums. She already know plus one for 1 to 10 few months ago. *smiles*

My sister's colleague called early this week to arrange a meeting with me at my place to do an 'interview' on their Plasmacluster Humidifying Air Purifier. This was sort of a user's review of the product. Yeah, it was on loan to me for 2 weeks. A brand new one. If I'm interested, I can buy it now at a 20% discount which is $799!! Anyone interested cos I'm not buying it. :P Anyway, she mentioned that they need to take some photos too. I thought it was just taking photos for the product in the room only. :PMy sister called later to requested I cook dinner for them. Like that also can ah? It's the first time I cook for 'strangers'. I have been planning to bring the kids to the bird park and night safari during this school holidays. Because of the weather and other engagements, I kept postponing it. I finally decided last night, if the weather is the follow day, we'll go. Plus after that very upsetting event, I think the best way to get over it to go out and have some fun together.So when the kids woke up (they are early birds) in the morning, I asked them to changed and we just went. Yap! Only me, ?? and ??. ?? got to work mah. I didn't know if I could manage alone going out with the kids for so long but if we were to wait for ??, I'm not sure if we could ever go. He even need to see his work schedule to take MC, ie, sick also must go to work. *faint* Maybe, unless he really cannot get out of bed lah. :P Nevermind, we still have the Night safari to visit. Watching last evening episode of Le Femme made me cried. In one of the scenes, Zoe Tay's character mentioned that when a child did something wrong, it's the fault of the mother. She felt so useless as she stayed home to care for her kids and still she did not do a good job in teaching her children well and she felt that she has failed as a mother. It wasn't a touching scene that I creied but because that's exactly how I feel now.I just came to realise that it's almost a year since I last wrote a "letter" to my son. Sad to say his behaviour hasn't really improved much. Yes, he still tell lies (though lesser now), among other things. And yesterday he did something really bad. Something I totally didn't expect him to do. I was disappointed. Not with him but myself.There's a Chinese saying, "???????? ????????" So being a SAHM, the responsibility of teaching the child lies more on the mother rather than the father? I didn't teach him well enough; my fault.What have I taught him ...

Build pyramids

?? current past time is building pyramids. It's one of the tasks he has to achieve in his enrichment class. This is suppose to help him build his endurance and patience. I'm not sure if it really helps or not but I certainly think it's not helping in his torrent level.No matter how much I encourage him and explained that it's okay for the pyramid to fall, he keeps getting angry. The worst thing was, he is not angry at himself for not doing it right but at the cards! At times, he will crash the cards. I had to make him stop, calm him down before I let him start again, if he wants too.Through this, I know that he doesn't have much patience and yet he cannot accept failure. He expects to succeed with just a few tries. He has always been like this.Son, things doesn't work this way. This is why everyone is learning hard to achieve what they want.I foresee that I need to put in a lot of hard work in guiding him. A lot more.

Family Day Pinic

??'s school organized a family day picnic on 21 May (yah, another late post). ?? took leave from work and ?? took leave from school to join us. It was REALLY tiring but fun.We all gathered in ??'s school before we board the bus to botanic garden. ?? was commenting on how they never pray to God (he is attending a Christian School) for good weather as it was rather hot that day :P I told him at least it didn't rain. ;)After we return home, the kids slept and only wake up in the evening. Before, they still said they are not tired and was still playing when we reached home.?? was glad that he took leave. He was having lots of trouble at work but at least the outing took his mind off work for a day. I'm pestering him to take leave again because I intend to bring the kids to the bird park and night safari before the new school term starts. Otherwise, I'll bring them to the bird park myself. Father's (Birth) Day

We celebrated my father's birthday 2 Sundays ago (yeah, this post is very late) at the restaurant of my sister's friend.The food was okay only. Seafood was fresh except for the fish but seriously, if you ask me, I won't go there again because it's not value for money. :P I wasn't very happy when they told us that their soup of the day were sold out either. It was only noon-time and there were only a few diners there. Sold out? Or did they want us to order their Shark's Fin soup. When I asked for ice water, they served us branded bottled water which cost $7 or was it $9 and the only difference was there was an additional slice of lemon in it. Sometimes, I wonder what's wrong these restaurants which don't serve plain water. Anyway, they probably get the water straight from the tap. I doubt they bother to boil it too. Ya lah, water is expensive but not that I'm going to drink 1 gallon mah. *Wei, sis, go feedback to your friend huh!* I think my father will start nagging agai...

Hay, Qian Hu!

Last Friday was ??'s school field trip to Hay Dairies and Qian Hu. Family members must accompany the child for the trip. Hence, I asked my father to help pick up ?? from school otherwise ?? will have to skip this trip.?? was very excited. Not because he will be going too but it was the first time ?? is picking him up. He couldn't stop talking about it for the whole week. This little guy took advantage that ?? will give it to his every requests. Naughty boy. Must tell my father not to give in to him the next time.Back to ??'s field trip. I could sense her excitement when she saw the adults entering her class. When she saw me, she asked me to sit down and she kept telling me stuff and pointing out her friends to me. Now I know who her best friends are! *laughs*She enjoyed herself especially at Hay Dairies. ?? is still not speaking very well. She still baby-talk a lot. But give her a book, she could actually reads it! One of the books she could read is the book required to buy for her pre-nursery school.I was surprised that she was able to read it on her after only reading to her twice. It was the same for the second book from her school.One day while we were out, she told me, "??, It is a windy day." At least this shows that she understands what she's reading. *wink*But I don't have such luck reading Chinese books to her. She will close the book after the second page. I have not been successful with Chinese flash cards either. Humph!I will still continue to reading Chinese books to her but she is moving on to ??'s story books from his Nursery School now. So far, she is already reading one of his books on her own now. *grins*13 Mar 2008 ... I have been trying to upload the video here for days. Not sure what's wrong. The Angels are in the Craft Box too!

I like the new layout for this blog so much, I decided to revamp The Little Craft Box too. Doesn't matter I just revamp it no long ago. I didn't like the last change anyway and was finding time to change it again.This time round, it was much easier as it's basically the same as this blog. Same layout and similar graphics too. It doesn't matter both blogs share the same theme, after all it's still about my Angels . *winks*Now, what am I going to do with my food blog? It should be similar with these two blogs but I still have not find any suitable graphics yet. No more Angels there, I hope.

If you have just visited this blog, you will notice the graphics of two monsters Angels on the header greeting you. Yes, I have just revamped this blog. The current layout is less pink but still as sweet. *stick out tongue*I have friends and visitors using IE telling me they are not able to load my blog(s). I'm not sure what's wrong but I hope they are able to load now. Only thing left now is to find out why my blogs are getting these irritating pop-ups from http://www.advertising-department.com. ?? bought me some clothes and shoes last Sunday. I left the shoes outside the shoe cabinet (cos I need to repack old shoes to let out space for the new ones) *should have kept them*. I later decided to try the blouse that I did try when he bought it.?? shouted "very nice!" when she saw me wearing it and the next thing I knew, she grabbed the other blouse and insisted on trying it too. After that, she went to put on a pair of my newly bought shoes. She happily walked to us and asked, "Nice ?" Then went to the full length mirror to check it out herself. *faint*You probably won't believe it if I tell you she hates shopping for clothes. She will scream, cry, jump, etc, every time we want to go in to an apparel shop. Weird right? But she loves shoes! *wink** It fits me nicely, what. ** ?? wears it as a blouse. I wear it as a dress. *

?? has been having fever since last Saturday. I bought him to the doctor for follow-up today and he is now on anti-biotic. I asked him if he misses school, he told me he has miss his ?? and spelling. Sigh! This is how stress the kids are today. I had to assured him that it's alright because I'm sure he is going to get them right since he has been learning them for a while.Then I remembered something he told me last week when he finished school ...?? : Fiona wants to be my friend.?? : Huh?
