How to Get Maximum from Referral Ads?
2008-03-29 13:23:00
At times your Adsense referral ads can give you more than Adsense for content ads. You can endorse referral ads and can attract the attention of visitor to these ads. Of course you cannot ask them to click on them so that it gives you money. Some new publishers do not know or are hesitant about endorsing referrals ads. Google has clarified that all referral ads can be endorsed by the publisher. The logic is simple why the Adsense for content ads can't be explicitly endorsed. You already know the referral ad that is going to appear on the page, but the Adsense for content ads are only known in real time when the page is viewed and no one knows what ads will appear each time a page is viewed. Keeping in view this fact, a publisher can comfortably endorse a product, about which he or she is sure that will appear each time page is viewed. So go ahead and take advantage of this fact and aggressively endorse your referral ads. But keep in mind, while endorsing you should not violate the T...

Adsense Image Ads : An Intoduction
2008-03-24 04:23:00
Sometimes publishers do not utilize the power of image banner ads of Adsense . They are extremely attracting to eyes and CTR is much more promising if you have social networking, discussion forum or dating site. These image banners are eye catching and grab the attention of the visitor immediately. The most popular image banner ads are Leaderboard (728 x 90), Wide Skyscraper (160x600) and Large Rectangle (336 x 280). If used cleverly they can get higher CTR than text ads. There are two options available while generating image ads, 1) image and text both 2) image only. If you choose the latter option, occasionally PSA's can also be served from inventory in case the image ad is not available. But if you choose the former option, then text ad will shown in case image ad is not available. In first option it is less likely that any PSA will be served. But in the end it's up to you, what option you choose while generating the ad code.

More Policy Updates from Google Adsense
2008-02-12 11:44:00
After lowering the PIN sending threshold to $10, now Google has announced some more policy updates related to payment and tax information. Earlier publishers were allowed to submit their tax information and were allowed choose their payment method from the first day of their account creation. Now the publishers can only update this information in their account once their earnings reach at least $10.The policy changes done in last 2 months related to Adsense suggest that Google is experiencing a flood of new Adsense publishers sign ups and the maintenance system is feeling the heat. With these latest policy updates two things will happen. First the load on support system will be lowered and second the crappy sign ups will be dealt with ease.

Adsense Glossary for Beginners
2008-02-10 13:45:00
There are numerous abbreviations that are frequently used and encountered by publishers. Sometimes new publishers get confused and are clueless about some of the terms. Following is the list of most common terms used by every Adsense publisher. Click-through-rate (CTR): Number of times the ad unit is clicked divided by number of times the respective ad unit appeared on web page. For example, if an ad unit has been clicked 28 times out of 2,225 impressions then CTR will be ( ( 28 / 2225 ) * 100 ) = 1.26% approx. Cost-per-action (CPA): Amount a publisher receives when the ad is clicked and thereafter the user completes certain action. For example, a web hosting ad is clicked and user purchases some hosting plan. Important: Almost all Referral ads come under the category of CPA ads.Cost-per-click (CPC): Amount an advertiser pays each time his/her ad is clicked.Cost-per-thousand-impressions (CPM): Amount an advertiser pays every 1000 ti...

Six Months Completed and Going Steady
2008-02-08 06:36:00
I launched my blog in August, 2007. At that time I was completely new to blogging and didn't even heard of Adsense before. In mid of August, 2007 one of my friend who was running two successful blogs discussed about his passion of blogging and how he manages to earn more than he earns from his day job.In the beginning, when I started I had no idea about SEO, traffic, trackbacks, RSS, aggregators, PR, contextual advertising and ...... ! I started with 0 visitors and my posting was also not regular. I still do not post everyday but frequency of posting has certainly increased. I do not claim that in 6 months I am earning very impressive amount or I am getting very heavy traffic. Today I am getting around 800 to 850 unique visitors per day and my earnings are decent enough when I see myself as a complete novice 6 months back. My target is to make at least $500/per month by the end of august 2008. I have reached just above half way and I am sure I will achieve it by that time.I remembe...

Should We Put Adsense Ads From Day 1 On Our Blog?
2008-02-06 05:09:00
Often my fellow bloggers argue about the appropriate time to put Ads on their blogs. Some prefer to put from the starting and others say that it is better to let the blog grow and then monetize it. Both approaches have some advantages and disadvantages. If we take the former approach, we get ample time to properly design and tweak our layout. We can experiment much more in the beginning stage and can optimize the overall look and feel of the blog without the risk of loosing visitors. It also makes you more experienced and educated for Ad layout and design. But in the beginning you may not get sufficient data about Ads performance because of low traffic. Scope of tweaking your Ads at later stages is inevitable. On the other hand if we take the latter approach, many critical things comes into effect. If you are having decent traffic on your blog and suddenly you change the layout of your blog and start inserting Ads in it, it may annoy...

Understanding Adsense Payment Schedule
2008-02-04 08:16:00
Often publishers get confused about the payment cycle of Adsense . If your earnings are reaching the payout threshold for the first time, you must know and understand the exact paying schedule of Adsense. You can access the payment schedule map from My Account tab and Payment History sub tab in it. The payment schedule works as follows: After the month end all the earnings of that month from 1st to last date are accumulated in your account. In the first week of following month your previous months earnings statistics are posted on the Payment History page. The 15th of this month is deadline for the publisher for submitting PIN information, tax information or changing the payment type. Once this date passes by, the changes made to any payment details will not take effect until next payment cycle. On the last day of this month if you have reached the payment threshold, then your payment cheque will be dispatched and the related payment details...

How To Protect Your Adsense Ad Code
2008-02-02 04:57:00
Some Adsense publishers fall victim of ad code stealing, which is then used in other sites and may get large number of invalid clicks thereby resulting in their account suspension. Tackling this problem was not easy but by using the feature of Allowed Sites in your account you can indicate clearly to Google that which sites impressions will be considered as legitimate. You can access this feature from Adsense Setup tab. A box is provided in which you can provide the URL's of your sites or blogs on which you are going to put Adsense Code . Some new publishers start feeding the URL of every single web page of their web site in this box. You only need to type the top level URL address and all the web pages falling under it will automatically will be covered under it.All the impressions and clicks that are generated from the site or blog other than mentioned in this list will be completely ignored.
PIN Sending Threshold Lowered By Google
2008-01-30 07:27:00
Google has announced policy update related to PIN verification. Now the minimum threshold for dispatching the PIN to publisher is $10. Google sends PIN to all new Adsense publishers first time when their earnings reach a certain threshold to verify their account information. Earlier this threshold was $50, which is now revised and lowered to $10. First referral policy update and now PIN threshold lowering indicates that now Google seriously listen to feedback it gets from all over the world. This new policy update will encourage new sign ups for Adsense and existing publishers having low conversion rate will get relieved from verification process much earlier. It will be interesting to see if Google lowers the payout threshold too. If it is lowered to $50 and electronic payments through Paypal is supported then it will be icing on the cake. Those Adsense publishers who currently have earnings between $10 to $50 will soon be expecting the PIN in their mailbox.

Is Google Planning To Check Domain Tasting?
2008-01-27 09:44:00
Recently, Domain Tools Blog reported, what is says confidential information from a credible source that Google may be planning to stop monetizing domains that fall in Add Grace Period (AGP). In AG Period the registrar of a domain can delete the domain without any cost. This feature has introduced the concept of Domain Tasting. Taking advantage of this fact people register domains in bulk quantities to make profit by monetizing them and later deleting them. This practice has introduced a kind of junk net and these sites are growing day by day.If Google officially announced this policy, it will significantly affect the Pay-Per-Click Advertising industry. Big Domain Tasters will surely suffer heavy financial losses after this policy comes into affect. Google itself will suffer some revenue loss because big part of Adsense revenue comes from these Domain Tasters. It will be interesting to see how things will shape as the rival Yahoo Publishing Network may announce something new too.

Adsense Referrals Policy Update Announced by Google
2008-01-20 13:23:00
Google recently announced the revised policy update for its Referrals program after getting feedback from all over the world. Their earlier decision to give payment for Referral on the basis of publisher’s location was widely criticized. The new policy update is heartening for thousands of publishers as some of them were earning a good deal of their earnings from Referrals program. The new policy update does address the publisher location issue, but sign ups of Adsense from locations other than North America, Latin America and Japan would still not earn anything for the publisher.Google Pack and Firefox referrals affectedIn this new policy update two more new things have been announced. Now the Google Pack Referral will earn you up to $1 instead of up to $2 as it was before. But thankfully the publisher and the user location is not an issue for payment in this case. Secondly, the payments for Firefox Referrals are also going to be reduced from February but it will only affect the ...

Adsense Link Units Optimization
2008-01-13 07:10:00
It is often seen that a significant number of Adsense publishers don't realize the earning potential of link units and don't give them much importance as compared to text and image Ads. Now up to 3 link units are allowed on a single page, which gives you the opportunity to get more targeted Ad placements on the page and increase your earning potential.Advantage of Link UnitThe best feature of link units are that they take very less space and integrate seamlessly within the navigational structure of the site. Link units are compact and give the illusion of menus. Another advantage of link unit is that unlike other formats in which URL and description is also present, it just has keywords as link with no description. This creates a curiosity among the visitors and they click it. Link units are generated with highly targeted keywords and serve a good monetization alternative. They come in horizontal and vertical formats with the option of 4 or 5 links in one Ad unit. It is generally...
