Project 365 - It?s Not Just for Aliens Anymore!
2007-01-03 23:30:01
Doesn’t that name sounds like an Alien or Secret Government Agency name for something REALLY ominous? I digress. With the new year upon us, I’m embarking on phase II of my integration into the blogosphere: photoblogging. I’ve been waiting for January 1 to start this little project. I hope you find some stuff of interest throughout the year. I am in no hurry for this year to be over with already, but I am looking forward to next December 31st and looking at the year gone by, one photo at a time. If you’re interested in starting your own Project 365, go out and buy a satellite map of the Earth and some red pushpins to Photojojo! for details on how to do it. As soon as I can figure out how to make a button for the top menu bar, I’ll put one up there.

Didn?t Get Enough of NYC Last Night?
2007-01-03 23:30:01
Never fear! Otilius is here! Well, his blog, New York Nitty-Gritty, is anyway. He’ll be here until tomorrow night and for some spectacular views of NYC, click the thumbnail to the right! People have been guest posting with commentary about the pictures that move them the most. I was struck by the picture of Lady Liberty and it made me remember how amazed I was when I saw her during my visit in 1999. I always figured she’d be really tall and huge, but she’s not. At least physically, she’s tall in other ways. New York has a character of it’s own, and at the very least, you have to appreciate all the architecture of the buildings there. Go check it out for yourself!

5 (More) Things You May Not Know About Me
2007-01-03 23:30:01
Mary over at Almost Somewhat Positive tagged me for this one…I did it last week, but I’ll give you 5 more little things about me, because I like to do as I’m told! Hehe 1) I (along with hubby) am a big movie buff, our DVD collection just passed the 500 DVD mark. 2) I am especially fond of Martial Arts and Godzilla movies. 3) I really, REALLY, hate Forest Gump. I think it was ridiculously overrated and did not cry. The hubby and daughter ALWAYS make me watch this thing if it’s on, and will even sometimes throw the DVD in at random just to hear me whine. 4) I have memories going back to being in the crib and can remember how chewing on teething toys felt. 5) Once I’ve decided something has a home in a certain spot, it drives me nuts for it to be out of place. This is how I know my family is trying to drive me insane. They’re always moving stuff! Since it’s New Year’s Eve, I won’t tag anyone! But if you haven’t done this one a...

Bye, Bye 2006! Helllllooooo 2007!
2007-01-03 23:30:01
It’s hard to believe that exactly 1 year ago today, my family was enjoying a fun filled day at Epcot among what seemed like a million other people. Doing the Robot: So much has happened this year, and it went by so fast. I see the speed at which time is seeming to accelerate as a sign of my aging. When you’re really young, you never believe people that tell you that the older you get, the faster it goes. But my how it does. Those of you who’ve come to know me this year, know that we’ve moved from the Midwest (Illinois) to the Southeast (Myrtle Beach). We’d known about the possibiliy of this move for quite some time, but the plans took nearly a year to nail down. So we spent most of 2006 in a rented duplex that was about 2000 sqft smaller than the house we were in previously. OUCH! We took two trips out to Myrtle Beach to search for a home, and we nearly had heart attacks to find out that the houses here roughly cost $100K more than the same house wou...

What Should Chey Do 2007?
2007-01-03 23:30:01
Chey is holding a contest to compile her list of New Year’s Resolutions for 2007. She’s offering some very cool prizes, most importantly, sponsorship of homeless kitties staying at the Best Friends Sanctuary. After extensive consultations with my Feline Political Action Committee, we’ve determined the following Resolutions are appropriate for anycat considering a run for office: 1) Lay off the ‘Nip until after the election. Nothing can derail a promising candidacy like a drug-fueled indiscretion. If you must be around it, take a cue from previous presidents, DON’T INHALE (or at least, pretend not to)! 2) While laying off the ‘Nip can be difficult, it’s also important to resolve to stop catting around with every tomcat you see. A sex scandal can have equally destructive consequences. If you must have a dalliance (what cat doesn’t long for a little “grooming” on a long, lonely night?) make sure the Woman doesn’t have...

A REALLY Cool New Roomie!
2006-12-27 11:28:02
This week’s guest is very exciting! Otilius’ blog presents some visually intriguing pictures of the great city of New York. I’ve seen his blog before in my surfs and thought his was really neat! I hope you’ll do yourself a favor and click on his thumbnail to the right over there and go see! Especially you, Bond! I bet you see some stuff that you recognize!

5 Things You May Not Know About Me
2006-12-25 17:27:01
Kim over at Embracing Momminess tagged me for this. 1) Unlike most people, I love public speaking. I took first place in Purdue University-North Central Campus’ Hyde Park Forum competition with my speech about viable alternatives to animal testing. 2) I went to summer school every summer between 9th-11th grade so that I could graduate from high school a year early. 3) I am a distant cousin to Davy Crockett. My uncle did our geneology and found that Mr. Crockett is related to us on his mother’s side. I don’t wear raccoon hats, I feed raccoons instead. 4) I named a street on Yokota AFB in Japan. It was a contest open to the school kids. I was so proud! 5. I met my husband while our dads were stationed at Yokota, I was 13 and he was 15. We didn’t date when we were in school. He did send me an Easter candy-gram on a bunny confessing his crush on me, but I thought it would be weird to date your friend (KIDS! LOL). Of all the loveletters/cards I got from boys thro...

Click the yeti again and try and hit the penguin. When you successfully hit the penguin he will squeal with delight as he flies through the air! See how far you can send him soaring! Friday Feast #123 - The 2006 Christmas Edition
2006-12-25 05:26:01
Appetizer - What is one of your Christ mas traditions? Opening ONE gift on Christmas Eve. We’re doing Christmas here tonight, since my daughter is not going to be here for Christmas this year. So we’re totally breaking with tradition this year. Soup - Who is the easiest person on your list to buy presents for? Don’t laugh, it’s the cats! They don’t care what we get them. Everyone else is a struggle, including me. I guess that just means we don’t want for anything, and that’s a gift in itself, eh? Salad - What is your favorite Christmas scent? Yankee Candle’s Christmas Cookie. Mmmmm. Mmmmm. Main Course - If you could give a fellow blogger a Christmas gift, who would it be and what would you give them? I would give all of my bloggy friends peace of mind and love in their hearts especially any that might be sad or hurting this time of year. And as an extra for the cats who blog, a neverending bowl of ‘nip. Dessert - What’s some...

A Little Christmas Cheer?
2006-12-25 05:26:01
Here’s a link to a Holiday Snowglobe. It’s been around for a couple years now, but I enjoy playing with it during the holiday season. Especially after I come back from shopping. Make sure your sound is audible. What can I say? This appeals to my dark side. ::runs off giggling::

Thursday Thirteen - Edition 16/72
2006-12-25 05:26:01
Thirteen of tiggerprr’s Holiday Memories 1. Starting to doubt Santa then finding a reason to believe, or at least suspend disbelief for a few more years. 2. Celebrating Christmas with my college friends during my freshman year at the University of Central Arkansas. It really is true that friends are the family you make. I only wish that I was still in touch with more than a few of them. We were broke college kids, but we really took care of eachother they took really good care of me. I really felt loved during those times. 3. The anticipation and wondering if it was too early to get everyone out of bed when I was little. I always woke up so early, 430am or so, and I’d lay in bed awake waiting for it to be a more reasonable time. I tossed and turned a lot. LOL 4. Finally getting to go see what Santa and his reindeer brought me. Unlike a lot of kids today, I kept nearly everything I ever got and played with it for years. In fact, I still have some things from my chi...
