Why money will never stop becoming stop issue?
2008-01-27 07:57:00
Money has place a value on things. This is not the same as worth. Value here is market value. Worth goes beyond market value. I know, I am trying to philosophize money here. No harm trying eh? Besides, money is a philosophical issue. Almost everything now revolves around it. Crimes were committed for the love of it. It is a motivating factor for others to drive themselves like slaves to earn it. Relationships are ruined because of misconceptions and misunderstanding about its value. We suffer for lack of it. The list could go on. As they say, money makes the world go round. In the pragmatic sense, our wants, desires, and needs are fulfilled by money (alright ?NOT ALL, NOT EVERYTIME). In this sense, I am more concerned bout our day to day affairs. What do you do when emergencies come knocking your door and you are not prepared? When bills are overdue? When the credit card companies start sending demand letters? When the car broke down at a time that you really need it? You wi...

Golden Opportunity for Health Care Professionals
2008-01-27 07:23:00
According to the published statistics made by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, there around 417,000 medical assistants? job opportunities in 2006. These statistics is expected to increase in 2007 (no available stats yet) and beyond. What do these numbers implies? The medical profession, not doctors or nurses but those who provide other professional medical assistance to doctors or those who provide health care services such as care giving, is one of the fastest growing areas of employment. Why? This is because more and more people are becoming conscious about their health in general. This is a golden opportunity for those who have received medical training. The demand for health professionals is also increasing due to the fact that the nation?s largest population, the baby boom generation, is rapidly approaching old age. As more of these citizens need constant or increased care and supervision, growth will occur exponentially between 2002 and 2012 (around 16.3 for all areas of...

Help in times of financial needs
2008-01-27 06:11:00
Financial help is sometimes hard to come by, especially living in a country in a ?semi-economic recession? ?if there is such a term or phrase. In an economic recession, life is far more difficult to bear. Unemployment rate is too high, prices have skyrocketed, and the nation?s GNP and GDP are down. Alright, am not trying to shove you those economic lingo to impress. I am trying to draw a picture how a particular time could be so difficult and unbearable. What we are experiencing right now is but for taste of an economic recession looming. Okey, I digress. Not my intention in this post. However, on a personal level, this should warn us or remind us that we need to prepare for those eventualities.Going back, financial help is sometimes hard to obtain these days. When your income is not sufficient to meet your needs, what do you do or where do you go for help? See? Cash advance loans would probably be the feasible solutions or source of help. Personal Cash Advance is the easiest ...

A Reflective Sunday: Hope and Reason
2008-01-26 18:09:00
It was Martin Luther King, Jr. who said:We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope.He died as martyr and end societal apartheid in the US once and for all. His struggle was not an easy path to take. What kept him? Hope .When faith falters. Hope. When funds are low. Hope. When friends betray. Hope. When all else fails. Hope. When reason ends. Hope. Do I sound preachy there? Yeah, I think I am. I am trying to calm my soul. I have been experiencing a lot of disappointments lately both at work and my personal life and I am trying to find acceptable reasons for all of these, but found none. Is this what Ralph Waldo Emerson meant when he said:We judge of man's wisdom by his hope.Where is wisdom, where is hope, when you cannot find sense in all the ugly things that beset you? ?The very least you (I) can do in your (my) life is to figure out what you (I) hope for. And the most you (i) can do is live inside that hope. Not admire it from a distance but live ri...

Desiderata

Desiderata has been one of my sources of strength, encouragement, and motivation. Its principles are timeless. You cannot go wrong if you take them with you. You will not lose hope if you breathe them into your faltering soul. You will always be renewed if you reflect on them.------------------------------------ ---------------------------Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrenderbe on good terms with all persons.Speak your truth quietly and clearly;and listen to others, even the dull and the ignorant;they too have their story.Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter;for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.Keep interested in your own career, however humble;it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.Exercise caution in your busines...

A Howling Wind
2008-01-26 03:31:00
Last night, I was kept awake by the ?howling wind? that relentlessly sweeping our neighborhood. The moon is so pale, the night so dark, I can?t barely see anything outside. I just kept hearing the wind howling outside, that is, even after I have already bolted all the windows. Rain was sporadic. It feels like there is a storm brewing but there is none. I just found comfort in looking at my son who is sleeping peacefully like an angel in spite of what is going on outside. Now, I realized that I should have bought and installed those HID (High Intensity Discharge) equipment lights on the front lawn so that I have something to use in a night like that.Kindly visit these cool BLOGS too: ^^, BuZZin' Inside YuppiesCaFe.com HRM Business Practices Briefs Young Urban Professional's nOOk

Random Five: Boredom and Motivation
2008-01-26 03:04:00
BoredomWhen least expected, it hits me. Sometimes it is so hard to get out of this rut. How I wish I could take this like how Aldous Huxley describe it when referring to the ?true traveler:??finds boredom rather agreeable than painful. It is the symbol of his liberty - his excessive freedom. He accepts his boredom, when it comes, not merely philosophically, but almost with pleasure.Motivation I feel so tired emotionally and mentally that I do not want to do anything. Should I take David Harold Fink?s advise on firing up your motivation:You don't have to do anything you don't want to do.However, there are many things that we need to do even if we do not want to do them or do not feel like doing them. Motivation does not impel us to do anything every time. Watching TV and My Son
2008-01-24 06:19:00
My son, I have observed, is becoming more and more attached to TV watching. I really do not know if this is good or bad. Well, the good thing though he is only watching commercial breaks. When the regular program comes in, he would immediately turn on other things. Why is this?I was alarmed more when I read this:According to the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), kids in the United States watch about 4 hours of TV a day - even though the AAP guidelines say children older than 2 should watch no more than 1 to 2 hours a day of quality programming. And, according to the guidelines, children under age 2 should have no "screen time" (TV, DVDs or videotapes, computers, or video games) at all. During the first 2 years, a critical time for brain development, TV can get in the way of exploring, learning, and spending time interacting and playing with parents and others, which helps young children develop the skills they need to grow cognitively, physically, socially, and emotionally.I...

A Campaign Against Drug Addiction
2008-01-23 16:08:00
Next to my son, I spend some of my spare time in worthy causes, such as the Greenpeace Movement, NAMFREL (National Movement for Free Election), and information drive against drug addiction in my community. Drug addiction is a serious community problem that needs to be addressed by the community itself. This is an important campaign for me, because it greatly affects the youth. Besides, a community free from drug addiction problems and is great community to live in.Why do you need to involve yourself in this campaign? Because, it could happen to you, or to one of your friends or any of you family members. This is a cause that has a lasting effect in this generation and the next. This is a cause that you can do for your own sake or welfare. Moreover, you are a credible spokesman to any of these people; hence they will believe you when you ?preach? on them about the ill-effects of prohibited or dangerous drugs.Prevention is one thing. Untangling Yourself from Bad Credits
2008-01-23 15:30:00
Many of us would easily jump into the first credit offer that comes our way without careful thought. The result, we are caught in a myriad of unsettled loans, and demand letters kept on coming. With this financial shamble, the tendency is to ?bite the bullet? by getting another loan after the other to pay for these bad loans. It is vicious cycle. Unless you start making prudent and sound financial decision, this will bury you in debt. The best alternative in your predicament is debt consolidation. However, before you get another loan or run into the first credit offer, review and compare rates and terms. You want to stop the cycle, then start it right here.Kindly visit these cool BLOGS too: ^^, Yuppies caFe HRM Business Practices Briefs

MP3?s on My Cellphone

If there is one most useful feature in my cellphone, in so far as I am concern, is its MP3 playback. Why the need to buy another MP 3player, when you can have full featured cellphone that can play your fave music on the go? Best thing about this, especially when I am driving, is the pair of blue tooth stereo headphones that go with it. You are so free to move without the headphone wires dangling from your ears. Here's a quick buying tip: if you are looking for convenience and functionality, it is always best to purchase a gadget with a full functionality feature you need, instead of separate gadgets for different purpose. I Need a New Table Lamp
2008-01-23 15:28:00
My son is simply uncontrollable in his activities when you allow him to virtually play on anything. What usually follow when you have taken your eyes off him are broken and mangled items in the house. Recently, instead of pulling the plug, he accidentally pulled my twin table lamps from my study table. Ahhh. Those were gifts from my parents, and they are quite expensive. I am so determined to have those lamps replaced that I stumble upon this great site, farreys.com, where you can virtually find all the desk lamps and lighting fixtures you need. They have a huge collection to look from, and I am hoping to find what I need here. That should not be a problem because the site is easy to navigate with. I do not want mom coming in here for a visit and start looking for those lamps they gave me. I got to find an identical replacement. Spiritual Hunger and Emptiness
2008-01-23 15:13:00
Life is empty without the satisfaction of the inner craving for peace and security. These things cannot be bought nor can be begged. These are something that you seek for yourself. These are something that can only be fulfilled when you try to seek a solemn communion with a higher power. regardless on who or why you worship, these spritual hunger can only be filled in by the one who created us and turned everything into being.Spiritual emptiness can easily creep in into our daily life, and affect it in a way that is detrimental. Keep this void filled with a recognition of that higher power within and above you.But what I would like to say is that the spiritual life is a life in which you gradually learn to listen to a voice that says something else, that says, "You are the beloved and on you my favor rests." ... I want you to hear that voice. It is not a very loud voice because it is an intimate voice. It comes from a very deep place. It is soft and gentle. I want you to graduall...

You can learn many things from children. How much patience you have, for instance. ~Franklin P. JonesI was watching my son intently as he plays with his building blocks. You can almost feel the intensity of his seriousness towards what he was doing. Really. To us, it might just be a simple child's play, but for children, it is serious work. Have you thought of that? It is in playing that children first learn the view of hardwork, patience, and fun -all at the same time. Courage to Change
2008-01-23 02:09:00
"Yet knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back.I shall be telling this with a sigh, Somewhere ages and ages hence:Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference." ?The road not taken by Robert FrostWhen failures, mistakes, defeats and losses hit us sprawling on the ground, sometimes, it is better that we don?t hit back but instead, we roll with the punches. It pays to wait for the bell to ring in our favor so that we can go back in our corner, regain our lost strength and use our hindsight to see where we need to adjust and change our attack tactics. Forgive me for the metaphors and similes; I hope you are following me on this one. They say that everything is changing except change. True. If there is something that is constant in this world, it is change, and everything else changes. Redeeming yourself from your miseries, failures, defeats, and losses requires the courage to change. Serious on Cooking
2008-01-21 08:19:00
Guess what I brought home from Hawaii -sets of kitchen knives and various kitchen utensils. No, I am not enrolling on a culinary school nor do I want t to become a chef. I am just serious about cooking and refining my culinary skills. I think, this is one aspect of a single dad I am really beginning to enjoy. Besides, my son loves my cooking ?that is, he?ll get a spanking if he did not finish-up everything in his plate. (?,)Tonight, I will be stewing a beef casserole on my new rival crockpot. I haven?t tried it yet on this new crackpot, however, I have seen how my sister-in-law cooked pork chops in this efficient pot. Anyway, there is always a room for experimenting. On another note, cooking for myself and my son has become a father-thingy for me lately. Well, I can always have food delivered but cooking is more of an affectionate expression. Now, I realized why mom would always insist on cooking whenever the siblings would gather in the old house. Moonlighting in Barcelona
2008-01-21 06:22:00
Madrid and Barcelona , IMO, are two of the most romantic cities in the world. I was so fortunate to visit the latter during the 1992 summer Olympics. It was a magnificent city, with polite and hospitable citizenry. Watching the Olympics live was exhilarating. Equally, and in fact it was a bonus, it is a joy to visit the great popular sites there. But what I really enjoyed most was the night life in Barcelona. Here you will find the famous La Rambla -the World famous boulevard of Barcelona that spans all the way from the Harbour to La Placa Catalunya running through the Ciutat Vella. La Rambla is full of tourists, and at night, the locals come out for the nightclub scene. It was a romantic and marvelous experience. During the day, take a stroll and watch street performers, hop from flower and pet stalls to another, or just sit relax and mingle with the people of Barcelona passing by. If you decide to visit Madrid or Barcelona do reserve your accommodations on any of the following:...

Fatherhood: Are you up to the challenge?
2008-01-19 11:23:00
I recently watched the 1991 movie ?Father of the Bride.? It was fun to watch. Something caught my attention though, and had to get a pen and copy the caption. Stanley T. Banks (played hilariously by Steve Martin) delivered these lines:"Who giveth this woman?" This woman. But she's not a woman. She's still a child. And she's leaving us. What's it going to be like to come home and not find her? Not to hear her voice calling, "Hi, Pops" as I come in? I suddenly realized what I was doing. I was giving up Kay. Something inside me began to hurt.Incidentally, the battle with my son?s custody is still pending in the higher court. What I have is only a temporary court order to keep my child. It is quite amusing to read the daily entertainment on the custody case of Britney, because the case is quite similar with ours. The difference is, we are no celebrities. Okey, I digress.I am just probably feeling melancholic when I was deeply touched by Banks? line there. No, I am not giving my...

Believing in You: A Key to a Healthy Self-confidence
2008-01-19 07:43:00
Nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent. ~Eleanor RooseveltOver confidence believes on something you are not. This is not healthy, for it leads to pride, prejudices, and pretensions. It also undermines the confidence of others. On the other hand, a healthy self-confidence is mirroring who you are and what you are capable of. It harnesses your potential from within, and when utilized and exuded, it boosts others confidence as well. Where does it begin?Believing in you is the cornerstone of a healthy self confidence. Hear it from the head of The Blixseth Group ?Tim Blixseth, who failed as a Hollywood songwriter and rose-up as one of the richest people in the United States and proud owner of exclusive Yellowstone Club resorts and golf courses:The turning point, I think, was when I really realized that you can do it yourself. That you have to believe in you because sometimes that's the only person that does believe in your success but you.Well said. Should I add mor...

Family Gatherings Need Not Be Expensive
2008-01-17 10:52:00
My client, a small business owner, was complaining about the expenses he incurred on the last weekend gathering he hosted for his friends and family. A fairly thrifty man, he takes into account all the expenses he shells out on his personal and family affairs. Well, I can?t blame him. I think he is coming from a different perspective. In my mind, the expenses justify the end. However, in his terms, he thinks otherwise.Family gatherings need not be expensive. If you have a nice barbecue grill, like I do, the porch or the garden can easily be transformed into a nice fellowship place. I enjoy the chatters and the fellowship a gathering brings especially when steak and freshly caught fishes are slowly cooking in that barbecue grill. Hmmm. I can smell and savor the smoke and the aroma of freshly grilled yellow fin tuna. There are other better alternatives. The most important things are the fellowship and chatters that bring real joy and good memories to those who are present. That, to me...
