How to Start a Fire Using Carrots Learn how to start a fire with carrots, strawberries, and other combustible fruits.Steps1. Cut a 2 inch section from a carrot. 2. Slice the carrot into 4-6 lengths. 3. Form a tee-pee shape on a microwaveable dish. 4. Take a 1/8th of a cotton ball and and stretch it over the top of the tee-pee. 5. Put the plate in the microwave on high for 10-15 seconds. 6. The carrots will arc and cause the cotton to catch fire. Tips * If the after 15 seconds the carrots do not catch fire, stop and retry. Make sure the carrots are cold and fresh. If the initial arc (spark) does not ignite the cotton, retry with new carrots and cotton. More time in the microwave will not improve the result. * If unable to form a tee-pee, chopping up the carrots into little pieces works a whole lot better. ANGLETON, Texas - Negligent homicide charges have been dropped against a former Lake Jackson woman who had been accused of killing her husband with a sherry enema that led to alcohol poisoning. Court records show the charge against Tammy Jean Warner, 45, of Texas City, was dismissed Aug. 31 because of insufficient evidence, the Houston Chronicle reported in its online edition Wednesday.Michael Warner, 58, died May 21, 2004. Computers infected with a virus unknowingly become 'zombies' in a botnet--which is a network used to send out spam and to mount further attacks on other machines. The zombie army can be controlled remotely with the botnet creators usually trying to build the largest possible botnet of compromised computers to rent out to gangs for as little as US$100 for a couple of hours. But researchers at antivirus company F-Secure have reported seeing these large networks being broken down into smaller groups of compromised computers because the creation of large botnets is not creating as much revenue for such cyber criminals.
