I was just looking at some pictures of my boys and saw this one photo where my toddler Gabriel was wearing his very first Halloween costume. This turned out to be a beautiful Sunday for the family. Around lunch time, hubbs, kiddos and I went to meet up my moms group for a birthday party for one of our mom friends Annabel- whose daughter Jade just turned three. We had fun, and it was great seeing everyone! The weather was a little humid, but it was still nice to stay outside. Annabel's house had a beautiful backyard with grown trees and was a nice place for the kids to play. The food was good and plenty and everyone just chatted, laughed, and ate! Great times, great friends are good for the soul- indeed! :)

A Little Sick Today..

Yup, I got it from my toddler. Now my one year old is starting to look a little sick too. Oh well, we'll probably just be a bunch of sick people this week. Ugh. :(So I'm just taking it easy today. I've always wanted to get my husband a digital photo frame for his desk in his office to display our family pictures. My Gabriel Is Sick

Ugh. Today's going to be a tough day. Gabriel caught a cold yesterday (even though we didn't get out of the house). So last night he started coughing in his sleep and was a little cranky. Today he's sleeping in later than usual. Hopefully when he gets up he feels a little better. I'm going to give him a lot of orange juice and I'm making him some hot chicken noodle soup today.

Cracking Up With An Oyster Joke (My Try!)

Hmmm, I'm not good with jokes but I'm gonna go ahead and try my luck at this.Two oyster friends met for lunch at a non-seafood restaurant one morning. While looking at the menu, they overheard a man and a woman at the other table talking about trying the "Scallopped Oysters" that's on the menu. Soon as they heard this conversation, both oysters quickly left the restaurant. The restaurant manager stopped them at the door and asked why they were leaving. The two oyster friends then told the manager that they were in the wrong restaurant. They meant to go to the next door restaurant called "No Oysters On the Menu Restaurant". Hahaha! How was your weekend? Hope it was a good one.Mine was nice and laid-back. Saturday we took the kiddos to the Easter Egg Hunt with my girlfriend Loyna and her kid and her mom. We were disappointed about the first egg hunt event we wanted to check out because we were late and the event was so short that it was already over even before we got there. There were no eggs or other activities to check out anymore. So we ended up going to a church-hosted egg hunt event close by and it actually turned out better than the first one. My little boys both had a fun time being outdoors in the beautiful weather with mommy and daddy. Gabriel, my toddler enjoyed playing at the bounce house with the other kids who were there. For some reason he wasn't that interested in the egg hunting yet. Hmm, maybe next year when he's a little older. Sunday was laid-back and lazy. Today, I vowed to finish up re-organizing and cleaning up our main closet in the master bedroom. Whew, I woke up early at 5AM and started folding up clothes, cleaning out a few of my purses and arrange them well again in the built-in shelves, vacuumed the floor. We have a huge walk-in closet so it's like cleaning a whole room, LOL. But wow, I was proud of myself. I finished it before noon and still have time to do other chores around the house. So while on break from all that I logged into PPP and here I am trying to make a little money here. Won't be too long on the 'puter today as I still have to run out do a few errands and finish up two more loads of laundry- talk about being a stay-at-home mom. LOL. Not complaining, though. Life is good. :)

Crazy Trip to L.A.

Back in early 2004, I had to make an emergency trip to my home country (Philippines) due to a death in the family. It was really an 'emergency' and so I was of course, unprepared for it. At that time, I was still holding my Philippine visa (not US visa, as I wasn't a US citizen yet). Well, to make the story short, I found out my Philippine visa was expired so naturally I can't make a trip outside of the US. I learned that the visa consulate in Los Angeles, California has an emergency/urgent visa process where you can apply and get it the same day. So off I flew to Los Angeles with my husband and the same day we arrived, we went directly to the visa consulate office to apply for an urgent extension on my Philippine visa. Wow, I can remember that day. My husband and I were so exhausted- me from the grief of losing my loved one, the flight, then the stress of trying to get to the office and filling out the paper work wondering if I'm ever going to get it that day and eventually ge...

I know they had this meme called Tackle Day Tuesday..well, mine is Tackle Day Monday . :)Over the weekend I was mostly sick with severe migraine.Ugh! whenever that happens I do not have energy or desire whatsoever to do anything. I was mostly lying in bed playing with my kids, lounging around with hubby. The chores piled up of course so today I'm picking up all the mess. So I have 3 days worth of laundry to do, iron DH's work clothes, go out and do a couple 'must-do today' errands. Wish me luck! :)

Experian, one of the top three credit reporting bureaus sued Lifelock , a small company that sells identity theft protection services, alleging that it engages in fraud by skirting consumer protection laws.An article from The Register quoted Experian as saying, "LifeLock's scheme costs Experian millions of dollars every year in processing large numbers of improper initial fraud alerts, mailing mandatory notices to consumers, and providing free credit reports to consumers who are not eligible for such reports".In a sense, I think that Lifelock helps consumers feel more secure by placing fraud alerts in their credit reports, thereby creating a lifelock, so to speak. Indeed, one of the advanatges in purchasing a credit fraud alert service like Lifelock is that it is also designed to protect the consumer, at the expense of Credit Reporting Agencies profits.

My husband got a call from his brother in Illinois the other night and I overheard them talking about his brother's son Jeremy getting into college. Jeremy already took computers for a bit but now he's seriously considering changing courses and get into mechanical engineeringinstead. He has a couple of universities he's considering right now but is still searching for more options.I heard from a friend whose son took that course at Kettering University. I found out that this university was ranked by the US News and World Report as "the #1 University in the nation for Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering" in its annual "America's Best Colleges Guide for 2008". Pretty heavy, huh?
