My brain is hurting…

I’m making a new web layout for Life’s Chronicles and argh, it’s so frustrating! Everything is going well so far.. I’ve made the layout in Photoshop and now it’s just a matter of coding. Ha, “just”. I am totally re-doing it so the current layout isn’t that much help but it’s giving me a base to work from. I am having a break at the moment, after I finish writing up this entry I’m going to go play Portal: The Flash Version. I’ve been playing it the last few days and it’s pretty addicting. I’m on level 36/40. I will finish it even if it takes me all year which isn’t that long consider there’s only, what, 50 days or so until the end of this year

I got the job!

Guess what? I have a job!! Hehe. I didn’t write about how my interview went on Monday. It was pretty good. I was so incredably nervous before hand though, I was ready at 12:30pm and I couldn’t stand the hanging around at my house so at 1pm dad and I got in the car and drove to the location of the interview. I asked dad to tag along because I haven’t drove on my own yet and I’m still a little nervous about it but the drive there and back went really well. I left dad in the car when I went for the interview. He had his little Tetris game and the radio in the car so he was alright. The interview was at 2pm and lasted an hour. Asking mostly indepth questions and had to write an answer for one, too. I think they liked me and the interview went well but I wasn’t getting my hopes up considering they were interviewing a lot of people. I asked when I’d hear back and they said on Wednesday/Thursday. Wednesday now, and I was in the ambulance with M on the wa...

Red Cross and just a long day!

It should be a crime to have to get up at 7am on a Sunday. I have been on Red Cross duties providing first aid cover for the Welsh Disabled Sports Team Championships held in Cwmbran Stadium. I was picked up at 8:30am and I think we spent more time circling roundabouts than actually ‘proper’ driving. We got to Cwmbran and could see the stadium but couldn’t find an entrance but finally about 20 minutes later we got there. Pretty busy, think there was about 20 teams competing. Loads of events being held there from swimming to football, shot-put, table tennis to pool and weightlifting and a little ’sport’ (I’d name it as a sport) named ‘Boccia’, but more about that later. 4 first aiders, one ambulance and an NHS ambulance officer was there providing the first aid cover. A perfect opportunity to ask about how to get into the paramedic career - so I took the chance and got a few pointers! It was a pretty fun day and it was so great to see ...

Shopping, Cleaning & Spiders

I’ve been doing quite a bit of housework today and I’m still doing the washing. I have washed a lot of the curtains etc and after the current load is finished I think I will strip off the sofa and put the covers in there. As I was taking down the kitchen curtains I saw this mammoth of a spider dangling outside and I just had to take a photo of it: I hate spiders, so getting up close to it my heart was going like crazy, as soon as I took the pic I ran away and let my dad deal with it, he thrown it in the garden. Seeing the image pretty much full screen when I put it on the laptop made me shiver. Urgh. I don’t know what it is I hate about spiders so much?? It could be their legs… I think that’s what freaks out a lot of people. My dad just told me he is selling the train set I bought him about two years ago because he can’t use it, which is a real shame. It’s not like he told me beforehand either, he said, “I forgot to tell you, I put an ad in the paper I’m selling the train set”, I wish he would have told me before but I guess it makes no real difference. At the end of the day, it’s up to him what he does with it. I’m a bit disappointed because he has literally wanted a train set since he was a young boy and now finally we bought him one (my step-mum and I - when she was alive) and he hasn’t used it much at all. I guess we don’t have the room but meh… I don’t know. It was one of them few gifts that I knew he REALLY wanted and now he is selling it and he hasn’t really used it.
