One for sorrow, two for joy
2008-03-21 19:53:00 Strange how life works sometimes. Someone I know passed away and it came as a huge shock to everyone. They went in with a broken ankle, which lead to other unrelated medical complications, within a few days she was in intensive care and she died yesterday afternoon. Her best friend, who was a neighbour, is ... More About: Sorrow
Fear
2008-03-18 14:42:00 Ok, what I’m about to type may be a load of senseless babble but it’s stuck in my head so thought I’d make an entry out of it. I’ve been thinking, next to love and hate, what is the strongest emotion out there? I guess you could say every emotion experienced can be a strong feeling, ... More About: Fear
A little update
2008-03-16 23:56:00 No, you’re not losing your mind - I have changed the blog theme - you likey? Well I was due to provide first aid cover at a Red Cross event today but I was contacted at 8am and told it was canceled. I was the walking dead so decided to have a nap for a few ... More About: Update
Truth is this. I am a loser.
2008-03-13 23:48:00 I am angry and upset with myself. Le sigh. Well, today was a retirement party for two of the staff who have left (one of them left yesterday, the other a few weeks ago). I was working this evenings shift so I had no option but to go (even if I wasn’t working, I’m sure I would ... More About: Truth , Loser

2008-03-12 22:53:00 Hi everyone? Did you miss me? Yeah? Like a headache? *imagines people’s heads nodding* Well I’m back from Ilfracombe and on the whole it was a relaxing break. I have HEAPS of photos and I also wrote a diary for the week and will post them in the near future. This evening I went to the Red ... More About: Cross , Red Cross
Last Blog For A Week
2008-02-28 15:23:00 This will most likely be my last blog for the week. I need to go to work in an hour and I’ll finish at 10pm (I really should have booked this day off, too), then I’ll drive to the train station to pick up Callum and then we’ll come home and I’ll do a bit ... Lazy Drivers
2008-02-26 23:12:00 Typical day at work today, each day that goes past I get more and more frustrated with a roundabout I need to go around to get home. People just don’t indicate. Out of all my driving pet peeves, that is the main one. People who are too darn lazy to indicate. I sit at a ... More About: Drivers , Lazy
Social Skills
2008-02-25 22:40:00 This time next week I’ll be having my first bath in roughly 7 years - wow, that makes me sound dirty. I’ve had showers for so long, I can’t remember what a bath feels like. My dad, boyfriend and I are going to Ilfracombe on Friday the 29th, and I searched in particular for an ... More About: Social , Skills
Past Weekend
2008-02-25 21:30:00 The training course reached my expectations. It was a huge bore. I’d say out of the 7 hours of talk, about 20 minutes was relevant to the area my colleague and I works in. The child care service and family social work were talked about at great length and I was surprised at how little adult ... More About: Weekend , Past
Training Courses & House M. D.
2008-02-22 09:10:00 I felt like typing up a quick blog before I go to this mindnumbing boring course that I’ve been thrown into. I have a taxi at 8:30am, it’s 8am now and I’m still in dressing gown and my hair looks like I’ve been mauled by a passing eagle. I guess I should make an attempt ... More About: House , Training
I?m still shocked
2008-02-20 00:22:00 I get on with everyone at work, apart from one of the seniors. Well - I would get on with her, but she doesn’t give me the chance. Rarely acknowledges me and only talks directly to me when she needs to. She has been off work for 10 days (annual leave) and today she came ...
The Day After the Day Before
2008-02-17 15:49:00 I came home from work on Friday intending on washing my Red Cross uniform only for the door of the tumble dryer to fall into my hands. I had some wet clothes to dry so in the end I just clipped it in and hoped for the best. I didn’t hear a loud thud during ...
Eventful Day at the Races
2008-02-16 21:34:00 Wow - I am knackered! What a day… we had to call out 4 ambulances and an air ambulance. I was picked up at 9:45am and we somehow ended up on the M5. Which made us really late… finally getting there at 12am, just in time for the first race. We were put on our ... More About: Races , Eventful

British Red Cross
2008-02-14 18:38:00 I did go to a British Red Cross meeting yesterday, only to show up to locked automatic doors. I pressed the buzzer and it ‘buzzzz’ed’ but had no answer so got in the car and came back home, stopping at a chippy on the way. Admittedly, I was 30 minutes late - I thought it ... Murphy?s Law
2008-02-13 21:20:00 Someone stuck up a notice (more like a joke, I guess) on the staff room notice board about Murphy ’s Law and today, I read it. Made a large smile stretch across my face (almost hurt as I haven’t really smiled much recently!). Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong. You will always find something in the ...

2008-02-13 18:56:00 I’m sorry I’ve not been the most religious of bloggers recently but I haven’t forgotten about the blog at all. Fast Lanes!!
2008-02-06 15:39:00 I believe we should not only have fast lanes on motorways but in shopping centres and high streets, too! I am naturally a fast walker and it irritates me to no end when I’m stuck behind a person walking so slow I see a snail running between their legs with a flag stuck in it’s shell screaming “ne ne ne ne neeee” as it’s going past. Then there’s the people who stop in the middle of a busy street to talk and gossip to one and other. No, they don’t step to the side to get out of everyones way they stand where they STOP and they just refuse to move. When you say, “excuse me” they mutter something but EXCUSE ME (I say to myself, in my head)… it’s YOU who is blocking the street up. Not moi. Then when you’re driving. A car decides to stop in front, puts his hazard lights on and has a chat to someone walking by, or, a car coming the other way. EXCUSE ME. I mutter to myself, actually, talking to myself. That’s th... More About: Fast
Night Sky
2008-02-06 00:19:00 This evening I was walking to the chip shop and the sky looked so tranquil and it looked like the illustrations in childrens books. The sky was a dark navy blue with stars scattered everywhere, like someone thrown a ball of glitter into the air and the light breeze divided the glitter through the heavenly sky. Faded grey clouds here and there that kinda blended into the atmosphere. All that was missing was the moon, but it wasn’t needed. Beautiful enough. More About: Night

In the eyes
2008-01-22 00:30:00 I often look into peoples eyes and wonder what they’re thinking. My first payslip!
2008-01-19 19:29:00 I got my first payslip yesterday, was surprised at the amount of deductions (tax, NI etc), lost a good few hundred pounds but I was glad with what I had left. “What’s the first thing you’re gonna buy?” people kept asking, well, the only things I have bought are household stuff for the kitchen. Work and such?
More articles from this author:2008-01-16 20:01:00 Haven’t long got back from work. Been a tiring day. I think I’m settling in well.
