Grow
2008-03-30 18:55:00 I spent most of the afternoon in bed yesterday. It was cloudy and cool and I just wasn’t in the mood to do anything. Sometimes it’s nice to shut down for awhile. Although I don’t understand everything God allows to happen, I know His Will remains perfect. I know that whatever chaos is around me that ... More About: General , Grow
Low
2008-03-29 20:12:00 Susan called this morning while I was out getting groceries. I called her back, knowing the news wouldn’t be good. She said on Thursday, she had to be taken to the ER. Her heart rate was 259 beats per minute. They put her on Lasix and atenolol to try to reduce the fluid built up ... More About: General

2008-03-27 12:46:00 I’m sick and tired of places and things that I like being discontinued. This morning, I went to do my workout that I record every day only to find it doesn’t come on anymore! The one healthy thing I try to do for myself. Of course, the few other so-called workouts suck! ... More About: General , Vent

Sad Times
2008-03-20 20:47:00 My work server is down, so I thought I’d take the time to write something. Susan called me yesterday with devastating news. The scans show that all of her tumors have doubled in size. Her oncologist told her there wasn’t really anything else they could do as far as the fight was concerned. ... More About: General , Times
Redheaded Strangeness
2008-03-15 22:00:00 I apologize for neglecting my blog. My focus has been on this new career. Now that I understand the peripheral elements of what this position requires, I’m beginning to not only feel comfortable, but enjoy what I’m doing. Every day is a new well of knowledge as I take a small, invisible, ... More About: Willie Nelson , General , Texas , Strangeness , Waylon Jennings
Spring This!
2008-03-09 15:26:00 I love spring, but I hate this whole “spring forward” business. Is it really necessary? I do NOT look forward to getting up at 3:50 a.m., which will now be the already-OMG-it’s-early wake-up time of 4:50. YUK! I guess this means I’ll be going to bed at 6:30 so I ... Brain Drain
2008-03-08 20:30:00 OK, I admit it. I’m a wuss. Spoiled. A brat. I forgot what it was like to work, and during training on Wednesday, I felt like my head (or my heart) was going to explode. I almost quit the very first day, it was that overwhelming. The next two days weren’t quite as bad…but I ... More About: General , Brain

Shaky Ground
2008-02-26 14:48:00 Randy’s company is beginning to show its true colors, which is more than a little scary. I’ll just say that they aren’t basing job security on the right things. It’s typical media management in a lot of ways, so it doesn’t really surprise me after so many years of Randy being in the radio biz. ... More About: General , Ground
More Work!
2008-02-25 14:55:00 Carole was pleased with my transcription. Apparently, I did so well that she even let me do some QA on another MT’s work! That was a a learning experience for me as well, and it made me feel good that someone appreciates my efforts. She offered to let me do the same urologist’s transcription all week and I agreed. It’s not much dictation, but it will help me keep my “ear” until I get started with Amphion. I made all of $11 over the weekend, and it took me 2 hours. The transcriber and pedal are a bit archaic, which really slows me down. I know I’m going to be very slow for awhile, anyway. I’m just happy to be working and having an option for local transcription! That’s worth its weight in gold, even if it’s only $11 for now. LOL More About: Work

Prayers for Susan
2008-02-21 14:18:00 Susan called me yesterday. The good news is that the existing tumors have not grown. They haven’t shrunk either. The bad news is they saw some spots on her lungs. They started her on yet another type of chemo yesterday, and she will also start oral chemo on top of that. Please…keep her lifted up in prayer. I know God hears us. I pray that His will be done and that Susan is surrounded by His love, courage, comfort, and peace. Her attitude has been, and still is, amazing. Thank you. May God bless you. 2008-02-18 16:46:00 I’m listening to the ASUP files again, just to try to keep my “ears” in shape. This waiting is a killer. Taxes…oooh it makes me mad!
2008-02-10 16:53:00 We tried to get our taxes done yesterday. We had everything we needed, or so we thought. Wrong. I had taken a distribution from my retirement accounts and rolled a portion of it over into another retirement account at a different company. Of course, this just threw everything into a big mess. One of the 1099 forms from Merrill Lynch doesn’t seem to have been filled in correctly. Now it will be a fight to get someone to take responsibility and do their job. I have already paid tax and penalty fees for the portion of the money I withdrew. However, the bottom line is…the total amount of my retirement account is shown to be taxable! Nope. I’m not paying twice. It looks like Randy and I will have to go talk to the IRS tomorrow and/or Merrill Lynch. POOOOO!! I’ve done what I was supposed to do. Why can’t everyone else do their job correctly? Isn’t this part of the reason we pay investment advisor fees?Â
